This most recent job was to refurbish the husband’s (my) bathroom. As before all trim and doors were removed, wallpaper stripped, double vanity removed, toilet removed, vinyl sheet flooring removed. Upon inspection of sub floor under toilet a problem presented which necessitated partial removal of approximately 4’x6’ section of water damaged subfloor, repair of improper waste line, and replacement of ¾’ ply wood subfloor section, before work could proceed. Cement board was screwed to subfloor with stainless steel screws, thin set applied to cement board, then natural slate tiles of eight varying sizes were applied and grouted. Wallpaper was hung and painted. A new toilet was installed. Then the unique part of the job came in. I had purchased two antique 19th century “dry” walnut wash stands which had to be custom altered to accept plumbing and then be installed as vanities .This job required advanced carpentry skills as well as creativity and came out extremely well. I am very satisfied with the work.
Description of Work: Mr. Vega has worked for my family at our home on 4 separate occasions over the past 5 years the first job was to install laminate flooring in my living room and ceramic tile in my kitchen. In the living/ dining room area the existing wall to wall carpeting had to be removed, subfloor prepped and cleaned before laminate could be installed. Baseboards were removed, labeled and replaced. Laminate had padding attached. In kitchen vinyl sheet floor was removed sub floor prepped and ceramic tiles placed on thin set. Tiles dried over weekend and were grouted. Job looked so good my wife and I decided to do the three bedrooms about six months later (the second job) with equally wonderful results. The third job was to refurbish my wife’s bathroom which entailed removal of lavatory vanity and sink, toilet, vinyl flooring, stripping of wallpaper, installing new vanity, painting and prepping walls and ceiling installing ceramic tile on bathroom floor over thin set, grouting floor, installing new toilet, and installing glass mosaic tiles on ceiling and above shower enclosure in my wife’s bathroom. All work except plumbing was done by Mr. Vega and his helper. All work mentioned above highly satisfactory.
