The Painted Otter Refinishers

Nathan performed a miracle on my old, crusty bathtub. Looks like a new tub!

I originally had an aqua color tub decades ago. Then years ago, the tub was redone in yellow; but it dulled rather quickly. Now that we're remodeling the bathroom. I called a representative at The Painted Otter and they carefully explained the process.It took about 4 hours. The tub was brought down to the original color. A couple of hours later I had glistening white tub. Service was very efficient, accommodating to the home owner, and with a 5 year guarantee.

Very well. The new color (white) fits our revamped bathroom. We've kept tiles that would have been lost if the tub were changed.

Very well. Receptionist and the man who performed the refinishing were both polite and professional. The process is inherently smelly, but their large ventilation fan mitigated that, and the final result is beautiful.

It was one day's work. They brought a huge exhaust which was good and necessary. They were professional and knew what they were doing. They were polite. The bathroom turned out beautiful. I repainted the walls, put in a new tile floor and Kohler fixtures (pedestal sink, toilet), and new chrome fixtures (towel bars, faucet on sink) as well as a framless shower door, and I have to say it looks really clean, fresh, updated and lovely--very spa like. His (owner/Nathan) prices were a little higher than someone else I was considering, but his enthusiasm on the phone and willingness to answer any and all questions, *as well* as to quickly provide me with a real person in my area to get a reference from, sold me on using them. The other company was unenthusiastic on the phone and did not provide me with a real life reference as I requested.

An estimate of $425 given over the phone based on four or five hours of work, emphasizing that the price is usually higher. Didn't make it the first day scheduled because of a vehicle breakdown. Rescheduled. On arrival said that the tub was worse than expected and would cost $100 more and would require an extra few hours of work. I agreed. Sat in his car (no business ID on his vehicle) and smoked while his assistant did the prep work. Sprayed the finish on and was gone in four hours. On removing the masking over the drain a few days later I found that the finish had run over the chrome of the drain shoe. We scheduled his repair appointment for the following Wednesday. Nathan didn't show but called two days later, Friday to say he wouldn't make it that day but would be there the next day, Saturday. That was the last I ever heard from him. The flaw wasn't the end of the world, and the rest of the work seems fine, but overall not a great experience.
