Located in Middletown, NY, we employ highly trained people whose goal is to make our company the best service company in Orange County New York. After the tune-up was completed, the compressor wasn't kicking in. The tech went through all the possibilities and found that even though the breaker was in the "on" position, it was bad. He had one in the truck and we decided to replace the entire switch box instead. He did not up sell me, I decided to upgrade to a newer device. I've been using Astar for the past 2 years since moving in and would highly recommend them. The techs are friendly and know thier business.
Description of Work: Annual air conditioning tune-up and replaced the breaker box for compressor.

I did not use Astar for services, but I was so pleased with their support and professionalism over the phone, I would not hesitate to use them in the future. I felt compelled to write that here today. On a holiday weekend, after trying two other companies, they were a live voice that helped to calm and point me in the right direction to diagnosing my problem, which at the end of the day was an empty propane tank. Kathy was so supportive on the phone, and let me know that they are there to help should I need. It's the kind of support and service we all long for. Thank you Kathy for being there for me today.

Astar is great to work with. Everyone wants to be sure that everything goes well. They do what they say they will do, no questions asked. I highly recommend them.
Description of Work: Replace circulator pump on solar system and flush old anti-freeze from system. Re-pipe corroded valves and other pipe not properly installed originally by another vendor.

They are highly knowledgeable and thorough, courteous and tell it like it is. I am not well informed about my large heating system and they explained it clearly.
Description of Work: Reconfigured erroneously installed propane fueled radiant heat boiler and system. Did maintenance, found leaking pipe and removed water from it. Replaced parts that were wrong size.

Perfectly with ASTAR - although our utility company did cause some trouble that ASTAR had to work around. Everyone at Ed Engel's company has been great to work with... Competent, Polite, and Creative when needed. It has been an experience that I have never heard repeated... I have since tried to stear any of my neighbors doing similar work to ASTAR. Each time ASTSR returns to do routine system cleaning or maintenance I again happy I made a good choice for this installation.
Description of Work: I decided several years ago to upgrade our heating system as part of a switch from oil to gas... ASTAR was ons af several I interviewed and they were by far more knowlageable and competent than any other "plumbing contractor" I had ever interviewed. Their price was in fact the highest of all the contractors I interviewed but it was clear that they were selling a service that was and would in the future be worth it. The conversion job was delayed by Orange and Rockland Utilities (Not by Astar) and significant changes had to be made due to Orange and Rockland - but ASTAR worked around all the problems and did a flawless installation of a system that has since saved me more than their extra cost each year due to its' high efficiency. This year I had a slight mal-function in the system and called the president of ASTAR (Ed Engel) on a Snday (on his cell number) to ask what I could do to get heat back on (I had a house full of guests, of course)... Ed thought for about 15 seconds and asked, "may I call you back" He DID CALL BACK within 15 minutes - asked me to go to the heating system, locate a componant, press a button... The system came back on and has been working perfectly since... He said that he knew it could not be serious as the systems he installs never break.... WOW, What service!
