Choosing Soundview was an easy decision. The initial walk through and questions that Phil (the owner) asked showed me that he knew what he was doing. He took measurements of each room, located our vents, and asked us specific questions about problems we were having. The estimates he provided for our different options were professional and detailed. When I had questions about the estimates he took as much time as I needed to answer my questions. He also got back to me quickly via email. He was always professional, and communicated the complex material clearly. Soundview was not the cheapest estimate, but when I sat down and compared his estimate with the other companies (I got estimates from 4 other companies) I realized that the value I was getting in both work and product was substantially higher. I also discovered through research that he had made a wise choice in the furnace he chose (4 ton). Other companies suggested a 5 ton system that would have overheated and dried out the house! Also, their systems were not as energy efficient. I am confident that I made the right decision by choosing Soundview. I don't have any buyers remorse---which is rare for me. We really liked the technicians that installed the equipment. They were professional, friendly, and did their work quickly. They worked around my two year old's naps, and let him explore their trucks and work space. Our two year old loved them so much that for the last two weeks he has been calling them on his fake phone asking them to come over! He calls them "the guys." They did a good job cleaning up after the job and minimizing any inconvenience to us. I trusted them in my home when I wasn't there. Since the install, with our crazy weather, we have had the opportunity to try out both the furnace and the air conditioner! They both work great. Our house is not well insulated and has many large windows. It was very difficult to keep the house warm. We are totally blown away by the difference in comfort this system and install makes. Also, because we installed new duct work in this very old house I have seen a drastic improvement in my allergies, and there are no longer any weird smells when we turn the unit on. My only regret is not installing the humidifier that Phil suggested. He was absolutely right and we are going to go ahead and add that to our equipment! Of course...we will call them to do the work! We had a great experience with Soundview and highly recommend them to anyone in need of a heating or cooling installation.

Gas powered hot water heater broke - the pilot light would not stay on. Called Soundview and they were able to come on the same day. Replaced thermocouple - took less than a half hour, he had the part available with him. Water heater is working fine now. I have used them several times before and always find their staff to be friendly and helpful.

all went very well, phil was very professional; also gave advise on other issues, very helpful-- thanks phil. best price out of 7 quotes (not the least expensive nor the most expensive--middle price.) install staff was wonderful ! especially supervisor, mike--- simply the best! very cordial , socialable & knowledgeable of his craft. office associates were very responsive and most helpful. i wish all the very best 4 every 1 @ soundview.

House was freezing cold. Called on a Saturday at about 10 am. They got back to me pretty quickly and arrived here at 11:30 am. The tech (I think his name was Brian) found the pilot light after routing around. It was not easy to find as the furnace is around 45 years old!! Probably older than him! He did not have a new filter that would fit, so he vacumed the old one. Suggested I think about a new furnace and gave me a quote for a new Lennox at $3100. He was very honest with me, but no hard sell. Told me to install 4 CO detectors as a safety precaution. He said I might be able to make this last a little longer, but it really needed to be updated for safety and efficiency reasons. Gave me a 10% Angie's discount. Was very happy with their service!

All went well. Originally scheduled for 1 and half days of work, they showed up on time, with an extra person to help. So everything was done in one day. They hauled away the old systems, installed the new ones, even cleaned up the carpet afterwards. They also handled the rebate with LIPA without me doing anything, The check arrived in a month or two from LIPA. These guys were excellent and very courteous.

Everything turned out well. Very accommodating, professional, knowledgeable, and good at problem solving. I was pleased with their services. This was the only company that we felt comforable with hiring. Phil, which is the owner really knew what they are talking about and what they are doing.

This was an emergence call, the furnaces was not working on a Sunday morning. Called the main office number and was transferred to the 24 hour service . Spoke with the operator about 9:30am, received call from the service person Brian Daab at about 10am. Brian gave an estimated time of an hour and a half, that he would arrive. He arrived with in the time stated, Brian was very professional. He explained what the problem was and the cause. The repair took about half and hour and he waited to make sure the problem was fixed. Please note that I did not have a service contract with Soundview at the time, but I will now.

This the second time they ripped us.Paid visit cost of 139 and saved 3350 with east Coast Mechenical services.

I was entertaining the idea to install a CAC system in our home to replace our inefficient window units and wall unit. I probably decided to call at the worst time (hot summer months in July - peak time for all AC dealers) I called many companies, some more then once. Many couldn't be bothered returning phone calls, showing up on time for estimates, were rude, etc. I was pleasantly surprised when I called Soundview HVAC. Very helpful and friendly office staff that go the extra mile (goes a long way and means a lot). I set up an estimate and Phil (owner) showed up on time and full of all sorts of helpful info. He took measurements, described the options available to me, and even showed me pics of installs and customer reviews on his ipad. A few days later, I was provided with 3 estimates and was told to choose the one that best fits our needs and budget. I decided to go with the more expensive estimate that gave us the best seer rating and energy savings. Definitely worth the extra investment as it will pay for itself in the long run. Install day - 8/12/13. Crew of 5 showed up on time and ready to work. Foreman (I believe his name was Mike) was awesome. He took the time to take a tour of the house with me and go over each and every supply vent location, return location, and the tstat location. Electrician that I decided to go with was recommended by Soundview. He also did nice work (although I thought his invoice was a little on the high side - extra $850.00 (electrical work is billed separate) All in all, the crew did a great job, took excellent care of my house - covered all carpets, cut the holes in the sheetrock by means of a 2 man team - one cutting, the other holding a box to catch the pieces and dust, and vacuumed everything upon completion. Being a retrofit install, they ran most of the ducts in closets to the first floor from the attic and even notched all the shelving to accommodate for the ducting. ( I thought for sure this was going to be my job when they were long gone.) After installation was complete, Mike took the time to go over the entire system with us. He even took about 30 min to go over the fancy Icomfort WIFI thermostat we had installed - (highly recommend - I can program the entire system from my iphone. I was thoroughly impressed by the fact that by 5 PM, I had a fully functional CAC system running in my home. After the install was complete, Linda in the office was very helpful in processing our rebates with LIPA, Lennox, and also assisting with all other paperwork. The system worked flawlessly for the remainder of the cooling season and is definitely one of the better things we've done to our home. I wouldn't change a thing - these guys are great. They are a little more expensive then others but as they always say, you get what you pay for. I work in the construction/building maintenance industry and I like to say that I have a keen eye for a professional well done job. Don't hesitate in using Soundview - they deliver what they promise. Our AC was not blowing cool air. After searching through Angie's list, we called this company in the morning. The office lady was helpful and said that a technician happened to be nearby. Brian showed up at the door in the afternoon, diagnosed the problem and all was fixed in no time. Brian also explained the condition of our AC system and even gave us a price for possibly replacing some part of in the future. We feel that this company, and in particular Brian is honest and trustworthy, and will definitely use them again.

Called up Soundview and their customer service is great. Scheduled a service call for my A/C which wasn't cooling as much on hot days. The service tech - Brian checks the A/C unit and adds more Freon. Brian is experienced, we discuss more questions about the A/C and heating unit I have - and Brian answers these as objectively as expected with no biased opinions or salesman talk.

I called Soundview because the pilot light of the furnace in an apartment I own would not stay lit. Soundview was very friendly and accommodating, and they were able to get a service person to the apartment the same day. They informed me that the unit had to be replaced, and told me that they expected the total cost to be between $4500 and $5000. When they called me later, they informed me that due to the structural changes that would be needed, and the fact that it is not possible to get a unit that doesn't also have AC capability, the cost would be between $4800 and $5000. I was charged $96.68 for the estimate. Considering that the other company I called was able to get a unit without AC capability, and their price was less than half the price that Soundview gave me, I did not have Soundview install a new unit. Even after paying for an estimate - which the other company did not charge me for - I came out way ahead by NOT using Soundview.

On 12/28/12 I woke up to no heat . I called Slomins since I have a service contract with them . They told me it would be a week before someone would be able to come out .the woman also stated the fact that I had a small child in the house did not make it a emergency . I then called soundview heating and was told someone would be out between 1 and 4 pm. At 4pm the guy showed up and told me the problem was the pump and it needed to be replaced. By 430 I had heat again. Everyone was professional and courteous and I would use the again

I had four estimates which resulted in a wide range of prices. It was not a straight forward choice due to the wide range of seer ratings (efficiency ratings) and system types available. The best combination of price and features were offered by Soundview Heating and Air Conditioning. They arrived on time, were professional and cleaned up after the installation. The new system works well. Good job.

Couldn't have gone smoother. Everyone from the owner to the office folks through the installers were nothing but top-notch to work with. It's a pleasure to do business with this company.

It went very smoothly. Brian was punctual - came on time and diagnosed the problem right away.He let us know the cost and performed the service in a ;professional manner.Will call them again.

After arranging the initial service call, the tech showed up RIGHT ON TIME...and was totally professional. He explained exactly what needed to be done. A part had to be ordered and a follow-up visit was arranged. Again, the techs showed up on time and they were very professional. They completed the repair...CLEANED UP after themselves. I was very impressed.

It went very well. The heat seems to be working fine.

The job went very smoothly and very well. We were very pleased. My only complaint was that I cleaned the attic out because they ran all the stuff up there. We had taken estimates from 4 different companies. We would recommend them. It is a family run company. They were very personable and extremely professional. We were glad that we selected them. They cleaned everything so nicely when they finished. They were drilling ceiling, and I was left with nothing on the floors, so they were very nice.

A++++ experience. The team worked professionally and were friendly and courteous. They were in our home for at least 8 hours, yet it didn't feel as if they were in our way at all. The house was kept clean, and they made sure to leave our home as if they were never even there. The electrician's work too a little longer than expected...so Soundview came back to our house in the evening hours when the electrician finished just to turn the CAC on. We really loved our experience with Soundview from the day we received our free estimate to the completed installation. They were responsive and friendly through email and phone calls to the office. We couldn't be happier.

I called and was advised $135 to show up. If any services performed the $135 will go toward the service. from that point until he left after performing the work was less than 2 hours and this was on a saturday.

I paid around $244 which included taxes and so it was $225 without taxes. They were fine and came on time. They were cordial and did a professional job. I was totally satisfied with their work. The price that they charged was fair. I would use their services in the future too.

Came exactly on time. Diagnosed the problem immediately. Made the repair quickly

Tech methodically went over system, made the corrections described in a friendly manner. Did not, in my opinion, analyze what I suspect is diminished airflow which results in slower cooling than previously experienced. Suggested that poorer performance is due to the age of the system.

This is an on-going service. Other than changing a thermostat and some filters, they haven't neeeded to do any major work. We are entirely satisfied with our association with Soundview.
