Dawn and her crew are great people who are efficient and clean up all materials when job is complete. they are great to work with, this is the second job they have done for us, and we plan to call again at least once-twice a year. Thank you!

I found her on Angie's List. Her name is Dawn. They cleaned up my landscaping. I thought it was reliable. They did what I needed them to do. I would use them again.

I was happy with what they did, but she has way too much on her plate. She takes on too many clients and everything was kind of rushed. The job was never finished really and she didn't do anything I asked of her. I don't think I'd ask her again. She's super busy. She came right when she said she would and it was raining out and the guys were working. I thought it was really unusual.

The Girls and More far exceeded my expectations. I expected the walk to be a few stepping stones, but they created a beautiful walkway which was very professionally done. The Roses they planted are very large and already blooming. The area they worked on is absolutely beautiful and will require very little maintenance. In addition, they mulched and fertilized all of my other gardens. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing landscaping work.

It went very well overall. They showed up on time and worked very hard to accomplish the work. They finished a little sooner than they anticipated.

There is no report on the overall job, because I will not be hiring The Girls & More. Another landscaping company (also found through Angie's List) will be doing the job for me. Their estimate was higher than Dawn's, but also included taking down the stone wall completely, strengthening the area with stone dust and rebuilding the wall. They will also add topsoil if necessary to the current stony area and plant ground cover (approximately 400 small plants) to soften the look of the area. Although I indicated that another area need not be touched, the landscaper recommended that the burning bush in front of my living room windows be cut back to allow more sunlight to reach the plants around the base and also suggested that some saplings be removed from the wooded area, as they would not flourish under the dense canopy of the pine and oak trees. Also, an estimate was given on the spot.

Due to illness in family we needed help getting gardens and flower beds ready this April. Called and told them I had found their name on Angie's list with a good rating. They didn't show for initial appointment then they called to make another. Showed up late and said she'd call With estimate over weekend. Nearly 2 weeks before she called with $850 estimate. Not unreasonable except we had done more than 1/2 the weeding already. First available time for work to get started would have been end of June. This was 2 months from when I first called. Wish they would have told us that they were just too busy.

I gave them a description of what needed to be done and I told them I couldn't do it and I had to leave them a message with my name and phone number. When I called back after about 3 days I gave them my name and number again and made my number very clear to make sure there was no mix up in my phone number. They just called me back today and the lady was kind of short with me, she gave me a story that they spent days looking for other jobs in my area, and they couldn't come up with any so they won't be doing my job either. A courtesy call would have been nice, and I want to let other members know not to expect a call back unless they find other jobs in your area.

I called them for a basic clean up and they have not returned my calls. I left my name and number and the work that I would like to be done. Nobody has returned my calls. This was a 3 or 4 days ago.

On the strength of the reviews on Angie's List, I contacted Dawn in February and since it was so mild, she came out to do an estimate. She took the time to listen to all my ideas and added a couple of her own that sounded good to me. In the period between the estimate and the date of work, she kept in contact with me regularly and answered all my questions. She scheduled the job and checked in with me the night before to confirm. While she and her workers were at the house, she called me at work twice to be sure of what I wanted (and I did encourage her to contact me if she had any questions). When I got home from work, I truly did not recognize the front yard! They had far surpassed my expectations. Everything looked so professional and...well...pretty! But when I went into the back yard, I was even more amazed. The way they had laid out the path makes my tiny yard look so much bigger. Adding that little bit of structure to a small yard makes a BIG difference. Dawn and her workers did everything I asked of them and cleaned everything up before they left--they even swept the driveway and the sidewalk. If it sounds like I'm gushing, it's because I am. After rotator cuff surgery last year, my gardens were in terrible shape and I was frankly overwhelmed at the prospect of trying to restore order out of chaos. The Girls and More have taken care of that for me and then some!

Dawn and her helper came on time, worked hard, did a great job with our trees, bushes, garden beds,and walkway.

Dawn set up a date/time to review the work I wanted done so she could give me an accurate estimate. She arrived right on time and took her time to write down everything, then reviewed everything with me to ensure that nothing was missed. I'm not the best gardener, so she even provided suggestions in terms of what flowers would work best to attract hummingbirds and butterflies in my new flower beds. She emailed me the estimate within a couple of days. The price was very reasonable, so we scheduled at date to start the project. She called me the night before she was supposed to start the project because the forecast for that day was very heavy rain. We rescheduled the start date for the following week (which I was in total agreement). Dawn arrived right on time the following week with two other workers. She and her two man 'crew' started right to work. I felt sorry for them working outdoors with the huge number of mosquitos buzzing around. But, that didn't deter them at all. They put all of the sod / weeds on tarps and kept dumping it all into her truck. The elevated area around my Beech tree was filled with weeds, unwanted bushes, and unwanted young trees. You wouldn't have known that I had that same area weeded by another landscaper the previous year. Dawn's crew actually pulled up all of the unwanted tree roots and applied stump killer to avoid their reoccurrence. They worked until dusk the first day and cleaned up everything before they left. They were scheduled to come back the following day to complete the work. Wouldn't you know it, when I woke up the next day it was raining. However, Dawn and her 'crew' arrived early in the morning to complete the project. Of course, they were soaked in no time at all. But, they were all down on their hands and knees in the mud working diligently to get the project completed. They worked until dusk to make sure that everything looked perfect and made sure that everything was clean and tidy. Now the beds in my yard look structured and organized. Dawn weeded and mulched a flower bed at the side of my garage, which was not included in her estimate. She even gave me some flower seeds from her own garden for next spring's planting and applied the remaining mulch around my Beech tree. I must mention that I have never seen a woman so small work as hard as Dawn did. All in all, if you want a professional looking yard for a very reasonable price, hire Dawn and her crew...you won't be sorry. As a matter of fact, I'm so pleased with the end result, that I've already sent Dawn an email requesting an estimate on a couple of more yard projects.

Great, showed up bright and early, and worked until finished, everything looked great! Planning on calling again!

We had topsoil hauled in and my husband and I were going to try and do it, but we decided that it was going to be too much and that someone else could do it faster. They came out and did that and raked it all down. They also seeded where they put the new topsoil down. We liked that they came out as soon as they could and it took them less than a day to do the work. They worked hard to get the job done. She and her crew had another job that day and something happened, so she was able to come out a few days earlier. She called me and asked me if it was okay and I said certainly, so she did that. She and her crew were really hard workers. We will use her again if we have more work and we told her as well. She was on the list and one of the top ones.

It was a really fine experience. Dawn and Matt came promptly when scheduled to do the estimate, and were very knowledgeable and professional; they obviously know exactly what they are doing. We needed some major yard work done in time for a big party, and The Girls and More were able to fit us into their schedule on very short notice. They came promptly as scheduled and worked extremely hard for several hours, finishing in good time and doing an excellent job. The only possible (and minor) problem which I might mention is that a couple of day lily plants have not yet recovered from the thinning and 'unchoking' process in their bed, and seem to have stayed 'on the ground' instead of standing up as the plants usually do. In fairness, however, the beds were badly overgrown, with tree limbs blocking sun and plants as well, and had not been tended to in any way for a couple of seasons. So they were really being choked, and we hope that the plants may recover next summer and give us the usual beautiful bed of flowering day lilies. The yard looked beautiful and extremely tidy; they cleaned up all the branches, weed, etc. The mulch is terrific quality and they spread it thickly, exactly as we asked. The company did a really fine job, and we do recommend them to other Angie's List users.

We hired this company for a fairly large project - cutting down some trees, replacing plants, removing ivy, and more. They gave a very good offer and came across as knowledgeable and reliable. They gave us a date, showed up on time, work extremely hard for two days, and finished the project without us having to worry about a thing. We hired them again for some follow up work and had the same great experience.

As last year, the job went extremely well. Dawn is a thoughtful, considerate, and very creative landscape professional. She humors my "what do you think about" questions, and really leads you towards workable, affordable, and attractive solutions. Plus, she's a fan of hyndrangeas!!! She offered some very specific suggestions (type, color, and where to buy) what I needed to finish up the one small bed. My neighbor came by shortly after they left and was absolutely amazed that everything was done, planted, cleaned up, and looking so nice within 4 hours start to finish. I'm planning next year's project...

She was pleasant, hardworking and knew what she was talking about. She was honest. I liked her, and I liked her (and Adam's) work. They cleaned up very nicely when they were done. I will hire her again. Thanks Dawn. (BTW - I found her here on Angie's list.)

Dawn is superb. I would highly recommend her. She and Adam are very professional. Everything was done extremely well -- we are very pleased. The fee is quite expensive for a single day's work but it was worth it. I would recommend her to anyone.

Let me say the work described previously is only a part of the story. The Girls and More took care in all that they did. They answered any questions and always had helpful suggestions. They went the extra mile with all of the work doing not just the minimum required, but really doing it right. They also went above and beyond this as they mulched all of our gardens with mulch that was left over, and they even did some trimming of existing plants, none of which was a part of the original estimate, (contract). The Girls and More were prompted, and worked long days. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a landscaper.

Dawn got back to my first request within 3 days and showed up to preview my property and landscaping. She sounded very knowledgable my various shrubs and plants and eager to do the job. She called back 4 days later with an estimate. Although the estimate was high, I felt that the job would be decent. She and one other person showed up on the day they promised. They spent all day here with one 2 hour break so in total about 7-8 hours. However, when they were done, I realized that they had not weeded, instead they had mulched over about half the weeds as far as I can tell so far. They did not cut off the dead branches and leaves in most of the shrubs and missed pruning several shrubs. A few of the shrubs they did prune are uneven and now misshapen. They did not clean out dead leaves in my shrubs or azaleas and weeds that were growing along side dozens of my plantings were left there. Basically, I had to go over the entire job. Now, the fertilization! Clumps in some spots, patchy and sparse in others - all fertilization what there was of it was put on top of the 3" of mulch they put down. Oh, and the mulch - not smooth or spread out. What edging they did (I don't know how they did it?) was uneven and mulch was thrown outside the edging line and into the grass. There's more, but I'm truly trying to get over the amount of money this cost and the end result was so not what I expected in any way. My husband rarely says anything negative, but he couldn't help himself and asked what the #*@ they did here all day? Any way, not money well spent. For $1,550 we paid over $150 per hour for a less than mediocre job.

We contacted Dawn Shorter of The Girls and More because her company was #1 on Angie's List. We always get a second estimate so we used another company advertising same services on Angie's list., there was no comparison in the experience. Ms. Shorter was punctual and always returned calls promptly. In the initial survey of our property her expertise was shared in assessing the multiple problems we needed help with. Our gardens and perennial beds had lost their edges and were full of all sorts of nasty weeds. Adam was the other half of Girls and More. When only he and Dawn showed up we were apprehensive thinking how will these 2 people get all this work done in the 2 full days scheduled? They worked hard and continuously the whole time in humid hot sunny days. Dawn separated some of my perennials to enhance our landscaping and changed layout of the beds to make upkeep and maintenance easier They were an amazing team, well planned and organized, including us in the ongoing transformation of our property as needed. When they left the first day and second there was no debris on the lawn. Everything was cleaned up as they went. Our neighbors came to watch all that was being accomplished and ended up asking for their business card. The results are fantastic, we have never seen our property looking so good! Hard working, knowledgeable, professional, exceeds expectations,more than fair value. The Girls and More are winners for consumers. We will continue to use them and recommend them to others.

The work was fantastic. They did a great job with the prep work in letting me know what they are going to do. They gave me photos of what it was going to look like. They allowed me to make any adjustments that I wanted. They quoted me a price. They were dead on with their price. Finally, when everything was done, they showed up when they said they are going to show up. They got it done in a day and cleaned up. Very good value and we did not even know when they were here. They followed up. I would absolutely use their services in the future again.

I could not recommend this company more. They stuck to their quote, were here when they said they were going to be and did a wonderful job. They even went above and beyond as they placed the turf they removed from the perimeter of the house in an area where I had just recently cleaned up at the edge of the property. They were extremely hard working, pleasant, respectful of my property and the neighbors and thorough. To reiterate I could not recommend them more highly. Very pleased.
