DAWN & THE BUSY BEES LLC

It was great. Dawn came out in early April (after the snow finally melted) to give me an estimate on the work I wanted performed. She and two men arrived right on time on the scheduled work day and got to work. I was pleasantly surprised that the work included the trench; I did not think I had clearly told her, during the estimate process, to go ahead with that. Not only was I pleased about that, I am pleased to report that, so far, it is working. They worked very hard in and around my large flowerbeds for about eight hours, weeding and cleaning them out - then adding mulch in two of the beds. It was, to me, an enormous job that I alone could never have touched. I was going to give a B rating for "Price" because I just don't know what others charge, but the 5% coupon Dawn provides for Angie's list members gave me reason to give an A. In either case, it was worth it! Dawn answered all my questions when I asked for advice and suggestions. They left my property clean and neat and looking terrific. I was thrilled with it compared to what it was before they worked on it. Considering how they left it, I am now inspired to keep it up! I asked her to come back and identify weeds vs. the seeds she had planted but she wanted to charge me for it.

The hedge was not done well; I showed them and they tried again but it was not good. The treewas a disaster---they said they'd do it in the spring. It was part of the agreement and was to be done in September!!! The most heartbreaking thing...my prized Shasta daisy in the bed in back was nearly TWO feet in diameter. It was securely established (FOUR years old) and it beautifully anchored that bed. Dawn dug it out and took it with her. I called her...she said it must have been thrown in the trash. It was an accident. NO ONE accidentally removes a plant that big!!! She said she searched the area where they threw the grass and weeds, and couldn't find it. That simply couldn't happen. She has an area of her own where she puts "extra" plants and that's probably where my huge Shasta daisy went. I couldn't go to her home because we spend the winter in Louisiana and needed to get packed and on our way. I think I paid a very fine sum for shoddy work. The fact that my Shasta daisy was stolen is just not right. We arrived back in Wynantskill a week ago. I looked at the three new rose bushes and hope they survive. That will be nice.I'd like to see the tree trimmed as well as the hedge but I don't think that will happen. Most of all, I wish I had my big Shasta daisy!!!

I called Dawn and she promptly returned my call. We set up an appointment to meet and discuss what I wanted done. She called me back with an estimate within a few days. We set up an appointment to do the work. She arrived on time - the work looks great and the bill was under the estimate. I plan on her coming back to do some more plantings.

Perfect - Dawn came on time tom make estimate - gave me good ideas as I have very large dogs - did the work and came in $200.00 under estimate - would highly recommend - she is a great gal

Dawn did a fabulous job. Due to an injury, I had been behind on picking up the dog poop as well. Her crew not only got every leaf for the back, but they cleaned up all that dog poop without one complaint! Stellar job. This work was done last fall. I just called her today for some additional landscaping work. I highly recommend these folks!

Dawn promptly returned my call and set up an appointment to assess the scope of work that needed to be done. With all the rain, trees, flowering bushes, and shrubs required major trimming. Lot is small, but looked like a "jungle." Dawn and her crew worked from the moment they arrived until all requested work was done. Dawn and her crew were professional, neat, and experienced. When I went out to review the work that was done, I was impressed with how my "jungle" returned to a neat and attractive front, side, and small backyard. I would definitely recommend Dawn, and I definitely will be calling her in the spring!

Dawn returned my phone call within a day, took a look at property and listened to what I wanted the next day, called me with estimate in a couple more days, and was able to do the job a couple of days after that. She showed up on time with two young men, got right to work. Came back a second day to finish. They all worked very hard and seemed to function like an experienced team. They did exactly what I wanted. My yard looks beautiful. She had estimated $1,680 but because it turned out to take less time than she estimated, she reduced the charge to $1,480. I will employ them again.

I am very impressed with the work that this landscaper provided. Dawn and her crew arrived on time, finished the work in a timely manner, and even cleaned up! Dawn uses a top quality mulch, which is important to me. She even spread some weed killer/fertilizer as she went along to control the weeds that had started popping up in my flower beds. I thought the price was very good, considering the amount of work that was done. They did an awesome job - my property looks so nice. I've got more work in store for you Miss Dawn!

As usual, Dawn and her 'guys' arrived right on time and began working straight away. They removed an old grape vine that never produced grapes because it was planted in the shade (by the previous owner of my home). They raked tons of pine needles, weeded my four flower beds along with a HUGE rock garden, applied fresh mulch, applied fresh pea stone, trimmed my row of arborvitaes, and fertilized all of my flower beds. Dawn went the extra mile by installing edging around one of my flower beds because she noticed that the grass in my lawn was slowly reducing the size of the flower bed. She purchased two Cleome plants and planted them in my rock garden. This was done on May 21st...and believe it or not...they are still in full bloom (in the middle of July)!! I have hired Dawn in the past and will be giving her a call in the near future to do some end-of-summer yard work as well. Dawn and her 'guys' are friendly, dependable, extremely hardworking, and pay attention to detail. If you want your yard work done right...hire "The Girls & More"...you won't be sorry you did.

Dawn was punctual in giving estimates, providing landscape ideas and photos, and actual planting and weeding. In the front of the house she prepared soil and planted new shrubs, edged the house with stone and edging material and installed weed protector matting then mulched new area. She and her employees were very pleasant and yet non intrusive. In the rear of the house, they weeded a large area around a pool and then put weed protector and mulched the area. They put Preen down with even asking. It would have been done within a day, but the plants we decided on weren't available till the next day. They were there the next day early and completed the job by around 10am. Very happy with how it looks!

The four members of this team worked very hard, with good humor, and listened to my vision. I've already asked them to return to handle another job!

They arrived on time. They listened to our requests and made notes during the appointment. They called with an estimate within a few days which I thought was very reasonable. Unfortunately, the work was put on hold due to other unexpected obligations. We would consider using them in the future.

My parents are snowbirds and were returning from Florida by the end of the month. My wife and I decided we would surprise them and just get it done for them so it was one less thing they had to worry about upon their return. We called three other local landscapers in the weeks prior, most of which just played phone tag or put us off weeks into their schedules just for an estimate despite the time crunch we described. Then we called the Girls and More on a Monday, they came out for an estimate on Tuesday and asked us some questions about what we wanted and said they would try their best to get it in by Friday (my parent's were returning late that Fri night). They called us Thursday and said they could it get it done Friday afternoon. I was on the way home Friday evening and they called my cell said they were done and asked if we wanted the leftover/unusable pieces. Not only did they cart away the waste stone, but they took the remaining dirt pile and spread it, seeded it, and put down straw. Totally unasked for, but a great touch to the experience. The walk looked awesome. They even re-did the section my father had laid down with some tricky cuts around a buried gutter downspout and where it met their poured concrete steps down to their patio in the back. Would definitely hire them again. They were conscientious, reasonably priced, and punctual. In fact I'm going to call them when I'm ready to re-do my front walk and landscaping in the front of my home in the next year.

They came on a very hot day and worked very hard and did and excellent job. They were very responsive to phone calls and punctual on arrival.

I got an estimate the first day I called. They spent 27 hours on my yard. They did a great job. I will have them back!

Came and gave quote, gave start date. Showed up even in rain and weeded, sprayed to prevent weeds coming back soon where could. Mulched heavily, cut down weeper bushes that Whispering Pines landscaping couldn't manage to do. Was punctual, non intrusive, very efficient and did work that made my yard look beautiful. Even the neighbors commented (positively) on the difference this company made. Cutting the weepers has increased the view in my back yard and made it a beautiful scenic space again. Did a great job trimming many bushes.

She was right on time. Her estimate was right in line. She also sent me a printed estimate so I knew exactly what it entailed.

Dawn and company were right on time and brought everything needed to do the work. They worked diligently and efficiently. They asked our opinion on how we wanted things done to insure we were happy with the results. They made short work of what we felt would be a hard and time consuming project. We were very pleased with the results.

They weeded, mulched existing beds and planted a few more shrubs. They were very careful to fertilize the new plantings and did a nice job cleaning up. They were polite and professional.

I called Dawn Shorter, owner, and made an appt. for her to come and give me an estimate for some landscaping work (adding shrubs, flowering plants, etc. to my backyard patio and front yard. She called me back in 1 day and made an appt. for 2 days later., July 23rd. She showed up on time. We talked about what I wanted in the front and back of my house and she seemed to have some good suggestions. I asked her to write up an estimate and send it to me. She stated that she doesn't do that but that she would call me in a day or two. I'm still waiting for her call 10 days later!

Dawn played phone tag with me until we actually reached each other both in the initial contact and when we were discussing a bid. She worked with me to get the cost down to a comfortable point where I was able to spend what I wanted and get the most important things done. I wanted her to come in and trim and clean up my yard to the point where I would be able to care for it simply. Her work exceeded my expectations! Keeping it weeded will be easy and mowing will now be much easier. Best money I have spent in a long time.

Owner provided many suggestions for plantings and the landscape wall, as I was unsure of what might look right. I knew I wanted perennials and a variety of color. We came up with a plan of different plants and shrubs. Work team showed up on scheduled date and worked well throughout the day. Had to return two days later when stone wall was available. Finished work behind garage on second day. Owner provided plant and shrub care and answered all of my questions, and will be available if I have any further questions or concerns. Everything looks really nice and the work team was very helpful. They did a great job.

Dawn arrived at appointed time to provide the estimate. Price was fair and she gave me a date of 5/15 for the work. She showed up on 5/15 on a very wet day to do the work. She did a nice job.
