I wanted to write a message for anyone who is looking to get their kitchen gutted and redone because that is what we did. It's always nerve-wracking having people come into your home and disturb yourdaily routine but I have to say overall from beginning to the end it was the best experience I've ever had. Nostress at all The crew was just amazing Jay he was here a lot and he was just so friendly and professional. Herin he was the guy who did my floor and backsplash and he is the sweetest most professional person I've ever met when it came to home projects. Last but not least Mike the owner was here everyday making sure things are being done just the way we want them. That meant alot to me and my husband. From the beginning setting up the design with Dominic, what style we wanted, to putting it all together wrapping it up to the end was just amazing. I have not one complaint about this company and I highly recommend them for anyone who's looking to get their kitchen done. Surbito Family

Excellent job, well done! The owner made the process simple and organized, each step of the way. The kitchen came out better than I could have imagined. There were no hidden costs, and the workers were friendly and reliable.

When we first met with Selective Sculptures, Joe, Brian and Mike said they were going to design our dream kitchen. They far exceeded our dreams! They understood our vision, recognized our tastes and made recommendations and enhancements that improved upon our ideas. Construction-wise, they are true craftsman. They treated our home as if they were working on their own. Selective Sculptures made a project commitment with regards to schedule, duration, materials and cost, and they were true to their word. We couldn't be more excited about our finished project and more pleased with having worked with this team. I've been telling everyone I speak with about Selective Sculptures, and I will continue to do so. Thank you all for an amazing job!
Description of Work: We needed to remodel our original kitchen, built in 1965. We also wanted an open floor plan, so we wanted to take down the walls between the living room, dining room and kitchen.

Fine until counter top installers told me I needed to go hire a plumber. sAY WHAT? I paid for one through Selective Sculptures. Called shop told salesman Brian on vacation. (Told I guess he forgot to set up plumber appt). Asked to have owner call me. Owner NEVER CALED me. I Had no water until next day. Jane in shop made arrangements to get plumber to me in afternoon the following day. Owner/ Manager still has not returned my call, so shopping elsewhere for my kitchen backsplash and 2 bathroom floor tiles.

They broke through a wall to combine the dining room and the old kitchen, and it looks gorgeous. Dominick came up with a terrific design, and Anthony's work crew was always on time and very pleasant to work with. It truly is my dream kitchen. They stayed within our budget, and finished mostly on time.

Mike & his team did an excellent job on our 2 bathrooms. We gutted 2 bathrooms and redid everything from top to bottom. They were professional, clean, and friendly. Mike was very easy to work with and accommodating if we needed to make any changes along the way. We highly recommend Selective.

We have quite a few problems with them. The first one had flaws and was the wrong size. Without asking they cut the molding around our door. Once it was installed and glued into place they realized it was to long and would crash into the fridge door when opened. The seam was also not where they said. They also up-ed the price 4600 more then what he had signed for. They took the entire thing out and re-did the molding which was wrong and needed ripped out and redone once again. The next time they installed it looked as though there was a huge water mark. We called the actual manufacturer and they said yes that the piece was actually a recall. Now, this time it was installed they left glue on dishwasher and brand new wood floor. They didn't re-hook the water back up correctly each time. We had also ordered a back splash and they told us that it was no longer in style and suggested we use stone. We let them know that we wanted what we had ordered so it matched, it took a few weeks for that to be shipped. I will say that the entire time they were here working or if we had to call with an issue they were kind and agreed and tried to fix issues each time. Its just each time they tried to fix it something else went wrong. It is now over and I have no desire to discuss the issues any further.

We have no records of this transaction. We spoke to member's wife and she acknowledges that we are not the company they used for this job. A letter is coming to us. Meantime, we have notified Angie's List of the above and they are doing their due diligence and re-mapping this to the correct contractor.

Everything went well from start to finish. I loved the idea of a place that designs, plans, and does all the hands on work. Every person I dealt with was extremely professional. They came when they said they would, listened to all of my concerns, and gave suggestions along the way. EVERY worker was polite and methodical. No one left my house without making sure it was left as clean as possible. I would like to thank Mike Gatto for putting together a wonderful selection of materials for me to choose from, and a personal thank you for Michael Patti and Anthony for making sure that the remodel went smoothly. Your whole crew was fantastic! I would definitely use this company again!

They provided excellent guidance and worked with me on all aspects of the design, ordering, subcontracting, and installation. They handled some significant plumbing challenges in a timely and professional manner without overcharging. It was a pleasure doing business each and every one at Selective Sculptures: Dominick for design; Mike for project management; Eli for plumbing and as primary contractor for just about everything except fine carpentry; James for his fine carpentry skills; various stone cutters; vanity top installers; helpers; custom glass installers; outsourced queens plumbers; and last but not least ... Jan from the billing and account department. They all made what could have been a tough experience a delight! I would recommend all of them for any major work you need done in you bathrooms; and based on this experience, I would use them for kitchen remodels in the future as well.
Description of Work: Selective Sculptures remodeled two bathrooms for my wife and I. One in my primary house of residence in Westbury (Nassau County) and another in my Bayside (Queens County) home.

We did not go with Selective Sculptures because our situation changed but I definitely would recommend them. They were professional and had great ideas for our kitchen and I thought their prices were more than fair. Brian was very helpful and understanding and I would definitely use them in the future.

We recently renovated the original kitchen/dining area in our 50 year old colonial. We obtained several estimates for the project and chose Selective Sculptures to complete the work. The project included taking down a bearing wall and replacing it with header, gutting the entire area and putting in new insulation and sheetrock, moving and replacing a window, putting in a new tile floor, new cabinets, quartz countertop, subway tile backsplash, new interior doors, moving plumbing and rewiring electric and installing high hats and pendant lights, painting walls, ceiling, doors and new molding throughout. The actual cost of the job came very close to our estimate, only going over a reasonable amount because of issues with electrical and plumbing when the walls were opened due to the age of the house. Everyone was very professional throughout the entire project and treated our home as if it was their own. From the day we initially met with the kitchen designer Dominick, and the project manager Mike, we felt very comfortable with the team. All the workers were very skilled and took pride in their work. Everyone was considerate, responded immediately to any question or concern that we had. Each day they had a plan for the work to be performed and didn't leave until it was completed. Each morning we were asked if we had any questions and if we were satisfied. At the end of the work day, everything was cleaned up neatly. The entire project was estimated to take 4-6 weeks. The majority of the work was performed within the 4 weeks, only pushing to 5 because an item was on backorder. The quality of the materials, all of which we were able to see and purchase through their showroom, were excellent, as was the workmanship. We would highly recommend Selective sculptures to complete any kitchen/bath renovation. Although going with a company that we hadn't heard of before, we were a little hesitant, but we are so glad we went with Selective Sculptures. I have already recommended them to friends , and will definitely be using them again in the future for bathroom remodeling. With me, it’s not just about the job, it’s about how these guys made me feel. I feel important to them, respected and a priority. I feel as if they are interested in my daily opinion. They want to please me as a customer. They respect my feelings, my suggestions and opinions. From start to where we are now, I am ahead of schedule on the kitchen. They are here when they say they will be here. They understand I am living out of the garage and dining room. They respect that I have a child who has needs while they are here. They stay past 5pm until the work is done. They check up on my progress daily. Mike and Dominick come to see the work often. I can trust their workers with my house/property when I am not home. I can go to work and not worry about what’s happening with my house. I also don’t have to pay all at once. They broke up the entire amount into percentages so I pay as we go through the weeks. They schedule all the work/specialists so I don’t have lag time or issues getting steps completed. They make sure my job is up to code. And most importantly, they clean up before they leave, inside and outside. I can’t tell you how important that is with a child and a cat. I don’t have to worry about him getting into the tools or garbage. I also trust that they will do what it takes to keep me satisfied as a customer. They listen to my concerns/comments as you can see each day whether at my home or over text (my preferred method of communication). They came up with a timeline that was loose so we could tweak plans when necessary and so I could plan my life around the renovations. I am pleased at the progress made so far and look forward to using my new kitchen! See what's gone on below! WORK SCHEDULE SO FAR July 17, 2016, Monday 6:45am Dumpster arrives July 18, 2016, Tuesday 8am the crew of 5 men arrived. The put plastic up around the back room and doors so the sawdust would be contained. They had the entire kitchen demolished by 3pm. The dumpster was filled. They vacuumed and left. What was planned for 2 days took 1. July 19, 2016, Wednesday Electricians and Plumbers came 8am. They found some areas not up to code and fixed the problems. Left at 4pm. I believe Mike arranged to have the specialists come at close times. It seemed when one left, someone else pulled up 30 seconds later. Talk about SERVICE! HVAC came at 4:45pm to look at what items would be needed and promised to see me the next morning. I was amazed so much got accomplished in such a short time. Mike came to the site to clarify the next stage of work and find out how we felt about the work so far. I gave him another check after he reviewed some of the financials with me. He makes it easy to not have to have all funds upfront. I feel more comfortable with this way. He plans it in percentages. Sometimes there are additional expenses such as more electrical work than was planned/billed for so that was an addition but these things are expected. I am trying to go with the flow. Changes happen. July 20, 2016, Thursday HVAC Mike came at 7am so that the wall guys would not have him in the way. We decided together to move two vents from the floors to the walls. He updated the heating vents and spent 3 hours making it to code. Walls went up as HVAC Mike worked. Ceilings were put up and 2 coats of Spackling. James, Jorge and Freddy did a terrific job. Neat, fast and looked great. I was very pleased with the work. Mike came to the site to clarify the next stage of work and find out how we felt about the work so far. Framing and Sheet rocking was planned for 4 days. It took 2. We were ahead of schedule. July 21, 2016, Friday James did a third coating of Spackle. He painted a first coat of my Soft Fern green color and the ceiling white. Dominick came by to check on the work/progress and see how we were doing. James vacuumed and cleaned up before he left. My husband found some areas he wanted addressed and I texted his concerns to Dominick. Dominick shared it with Mike. I didn’t want to bother Mike since it was the weekend, but Dominick felt our concerns were important. They were addressed Saturday morning. July 22, 2016, Saturday 8:30am. Eddie and Javier arrived to work on the floors. They nailed down the wire mesh which was a job that took all day. Tile needed to be cut as well. They left the place clean and neat. July 23, 2016, Sunday DAY OF REST July 24, 2016, Monday 8:45am. Eddie and Javier needed to mud the floors to make them level which they were not. One side needed to be higher than the other. Eddie and Javier worked very hard and left at 7pm after they cleaned up. It was a very long day for them. Mike made arrangements with the appliance store to deliver on August 1. July 25, 2016, Tuesday 8:45am. Eddie measured and laid the time on the leveled floors. It was a terribly hot day and Javier had to lug cement and cut tile in the heat. I felt so bad for him. He never complained and worked so very hard. The floors looked great but Eddie felt like it was not looking right so he lifted three rows of tile and did them again to get it right. He felt he wanted perfection and I appreciated that. I complimented him and shared that with Mike when he came to see the progress. They left at 5:30pm and planned to come back for the Backsplash when it was time. 4 days were planned to do the job. It took 3. July 26, 2016, Wednesday Freddy and Jorge came to work on making saddles and putting up molding around the doors and window. Freddy was so funny. He kept cleaning and I told him to not worry about the dust on the doors, that I would take care of it later. He was so concerned about keeping the place clean for me. I told him it was impossible since there was so much cutting of wood. Jorge spoke to me about the saddles and I made suggestions. He asked my opinion and he made it to my specifications such as overlapping the saddle to the stair for safety. They cleaned up and I was pleased to find out we had several days off to have family time instead of having construction. July 27, 2016 Thursday Jorge and Freddy came to complete the saddles and woodwork. Once again, outstanding! I left them alone all day while I went to work. I had no worries. I also knew Mike stopped by often at the site to check on progress but I trusted them completely. July 28-31, 2016 REST August 1, 2016, Monday Cabinet specialists Anthony and Paul arrived. They worked from 8:45-5pm. They put cabinets up, cut and measured over and over. They said, "Measure three times, cut once." They were very nice, knowledgeable, spoke kindly to my son and had a smile and a kind word to me most often during the day. August 2, 2016, Tuesday Cabinet guys arrived at 8:45am. I went to work and when I came back most of the cabinets were up. Since the floor was 3 inches higher than anticipated, they called Scott at Selective Sculptures to order a smaller cabinet so they would not have to cut it. The cabinet would arrive Thursday. August 3, 2016, Wednesday I called Mike to tell him I am taking a day of rest. August 4, 2016, Thursday Cabinets are done! Paul and Anthony arrived at 8:30 and they were completed by 5pm. They vacuumed and touched up the cabinets. They put the shelves in for me and discussed how to care for my cabinets. They put up the crown molding and asked my opinion about where I wanted the handles to go on the cabinets. Mike came by to see how it was progressing, to get a check from me and to plan the coming week of work. He's planning on my refrigerator and stove going in and working on Monday. As you can guess I'm tired of washing dishes in my bathroom and am grateful it's going to happen so quickly!
Description of Work: Our kitchen was stuck in a timewarp. Blue and dirty white vinyl wallpaper, white laminate counters and cupboards covered old dark particle board shelves and left behind remnants of the kitchen before this one. The refrigerator was from 1992. The laminate was coming off the cupboard. I had switches on the wall that went to no lights. Vinyl stick on tiles on board on the floor. Really nice pocket doors and a bay window that hung against the house, not even connected to the house. Therefore, we had leaks. I could live with it but who would want to? I knew we would have to spend and renovate eventually. How long could we hold off? I wanted to remodel my kitchen EVENTUALLY but spending time with Dominick and Mike clenched it for me. I found SELECTIVE SCULPTURES on this site and they contacted me within 10 minutes and we made an appointment. I then looked them up on Facebook and Google since I never heard about them. Dominick kept the appointment despite not feeling well that day. I appreciated that. We spent 2 hours talking about what I was interested in. He asked me what my price point was. We spoke about what style I liked, placement of cabinets, drank tea and took measurements. I felt good about our meeting and I liked that he did not pressure me to make a commitment. He was very nice and also I appreciated that I felt safe with him. Being home alone with a stranger usually makes me uncomfortable, but he was very nice and I liked speaking with him. He got me and my personality/style. I laughed and told him I don’t like to cook, I heat! I also am not the neatest and cleanest person around and I don’t have a maid. He said he would take that into consideration as we came up with design ideas. He brought a tablet to show me some designs. I showed him what I liked on Houzz. After taking laser measurements, Dominick told me that he would draw up a design and send it to me to think about. There was no pressure and no commitment. He told me I would have it by Monday (1 week). I told him there was no hurry. I called my husband after Dominick left and told him about my experience. Later on, I emailed Dominick thanking him for the meeting. February 24, 2016, As Dominick said, the email arrived with 4 images of what my kitchen could look like. “ Hi Meredith. Please see the attached photos and let me know what you think...Feel free to call me on my cell to discuss. Thanks! Dominick.” I forwarded them to my husband and told him I would like to see what the two other companies could do. The next day, Company A came over. They were suppose to come at 1pm. Company A showed up at 10am. The contractor took his tape measure out and made 3 measurements. He stood for 15 minutes telling me how his company does a good job and how other companies cut corners and leave things not to code. I was annoyed as he stood with his arms folded over his chest. Clearly Company A did not want to do my kitchen and was not interested in working on my kitchen. HE NEVER EVEN SAT DOWN. I was glad he left and knew I would not even contact him again. (I did share all my experiences with my friends so it pays to be nice). Company B never called so I was done with them. I did feel good about my interaction with Dominick from Selective Sculptures so I told my husband I wanted to see what their showroom looked like. We made an appointment to see the place on a Saturday at 1pm. Dominick was there to greet us. Since I told him I originally I wanted a white cabinet kitchen, he came up with a choice of cabinet, tile and backsplash with a granite slab. My husband and I spent 3 hours there with him looking at combinations and taking pictures with our phones so we could think about the designs at home. I liked the choices and the fact that I didn’t feel rushed. Dominick let me think about the items and STILL there was NO PRESSURE to commit or give money. I went home with the samples to see how it looked in my kitchen and tried to visualize the finished product. I leaned the pieces up against the counter and stood looking at it at different times of the day to see the light reflect on it. I couldn’t decide. Later that day, my son wanted to help clean and smashed the vacuum into the cabinet door. I could see white was going to be an issue. I texted Dominick and asked if I could come again on a Saturday with my husband. Dominick was always very timely in responding to my texts and his communication was outstanding. He and I texted back and forth because I did have questions. Even on the weekends and at night. I figured he would get back to me during working hours. This was never an issue as he always responded immediately. That meant a lot to me, especially since I wasn’t even a client yet! We went 2 Saturdays later and with my 5 year old in tow. One of the sales people talked to my son while Joe and I looked at other choices. I was able to focus on the choices instead of babysitting my child. I fell in love with a green quartz piece. Dominick introduced me to Mike who really had a good eye for matching items. Mike chose a dark espresso colored cabinet, a tile and a backsplash after I told him I wanted glass for the backsplash and a floor that didn’t show much dirt. We were limited to 6 choices of cabinet color since we wanted to stay within a planned budget. We decided to use stock cabinets. I looked at the same cabinets at Home Depot. HD wanted $30K for the cabinets. Selective Sculptures quoted $11. The choice was obvious and I liked the interaction with Selective Sculptures' staff. But, the combinations and choices Selective Sculptures had was endless! How could I make up my mind! Mike and Dominick encouraged me to take the pieces home. I took all those home with me after another 3 hours! I did not feel any pressure and of course I was trying in my mind to make an HGTV kitchen. Who are we kidding! I am not good at this. I cannot make decisions and I am better at seeing finished products and choosing 1,2, or 3. Mike came back over and showed me a picture of a recently redone kitchen that had the same cabinet I had in my hand. I yelled, “YES!”. That was what I had in mind. He must have thought I was crazy because I was smiling and looking at the picture and one of the cabinets in the showroom and telling Mike, “I want this!” I felt a connection with Selective Sculptures and I felt they would do a good job and keep our financial concerns in mind. My husband and I decided to commit and left a $3,000 deposit to book a date in July 2016. I left with samples in hand and a happy 5 year old. I did not take the quartz home. A day later I texted Dominick and said I did want the quartz and if I could pick it up. He texted back and said he would drop it by my house. I was amazed that he would come to my house!

Since this was our second home we were not able to be there during the renovations. We received photos ,texts, phone calls and emails regarding the projects in work. When we arrived on the weekend, home was left in great condition. Our neighbors also told us that the workers were there, on the job, from early morning to late in the evening most days. Also during the initial process of choosing decor they were most helpful to tell us what would and what would not work. The knowledge and patience of the salesperson, Bryan, was most helpful in making final selections. Bryan was always available to discuss any concerns we may have had during this process, which made us comfortable.

AAA + Courteous and professional ! I had an unusual situation where my house flooded and I was dealing with toxic mold as a result on the subfloors. For it to be completely addressed I needed my kitchen cabinets removed, but I had to get my huge granite tops out first, plus they would have to store them for me. Hence after calling several companies that were either rude, never got back to me, or just weren't interested in the job because it wasn't a huge money maker for them I finally found this gem. They came the very next day...today in fact. The workers were just as nice & neat with their work. Eventually I will need another kitchen done which I never even mentioned to them, guess who's going to get my return business????? Great company

Excellent !!! Everyone was careful, polite and communicated as to what the next step would be,whether it was the electrician, plumber or the tile installer. Each person cleaned up after they were done and really did a beautiful job. The owner Mike and Dominick,Nick and Brian all discussed with us beforehand as to suggestions and how it was going to proceed whether it had to do with hardware, tile, plumbing or pricing and it all went pretty much as planned. The bathroom looks georgous and my husband and I are pleased with the workmanship as well as the whole working crew and would certainly recommend Selective Sculptures to anyone who is planning to do their bathrooms over. Still waiting for the Sliding Shower door and a few things which will be done in the next few days but all said and done, we are glad that we decided to go with Selective Sculptures and My husband and I would like to thank them very much. Hi {Member's name}, I sincerely apologize for not making our appointment. I was trying to coordinate 3 people's schedule, after we spoke to reschedule for Saturday 8/22 I called my contractor to confirm that date was good for him. He never got back to me and I forgot to follow up with him. Once again I am very sorry for not coming to the home and I completely understand if you do not want reschedule, but I would really love the opportunity to redeem myself and show you exactly what Selective Sculptures can do for you. This is the second time I have used Selective Sculpture. Two years ago they installed 22 feet of granite, and top of the line sink for the kitchen counter. Recently they installed a new marble top vanity and sink for the bathroom. From the beginning, with Bryan's expert advice to the final install, I couldn't have asked for better service. The installers were very professional, on time, knew exactly what to do, and the cleanup was perfect. I have recommended them to all my friends, and will definitely use their services again.
