From the day we hired Ambassador Home Improvement my wife & I were blown away by the company's professionalism. Unlike other contractors, our project manager was on site daily coordinating with their brilliant carpenters. Every team of professionals they brought in did a great job as well, making significant improvements to my homes plumbing & electrical systems. There were no surprise chargers or fees and our project stayed within the budget unless we chose an added service. I would highly recommend Ambassador to anyone looking to do a home project. They worked every day, never disappeared and once, when we had an issue with our HVAC, Joe our project manager moved heaven & earth to get someone here during a heat wave! They were able to get my system back on that same day! There is no job too big or small for them. Please think Ambassador for your next home project.

We contacted / interviewed several companies for our home rebuild in Long Island, Ambassador Home Improvement was our final choice. Ambassador's pricing was competitive with other companies in the bidding process but it was the quality, reputation, warranty of work and the in-house team that helped us make our selection. Gary Zaccaro’s professionalism, thorough knowledge with attention to details along with 25+ years experience in construction impressed us during our first meeting. Gary got our immediate attention with his vision and fairness during contract discussion and we decided to move forward promptly. Our home project was a whole house renovation, practically a new house built. Main floor was completely redone (new layout, 9 feet ceiling), full second floor addition and finished basement (gutted & redone). We wanted a team with experience of large scale projects (new construction) and be able to manage the complexity of working with town codes and schedules. Any project success can be quantified by four main components - quality, schedule, budget and scope. Ambassador was excellent on all the fronts - quality of workmanship is phenomenal, project was completed way ahead of schedule (4.5 months record time), was well within the budgeted amount (quite unheard of) and everything scoped was completed. Project was started in the last week of December 2018 and we were back home in mid May 2019. We built a great relationship with Gary and his entire team during the project. Success of a team is driven by its leader's vision and values. Ambassador backs it’s workmanship and the products they recommended for the project. Building your custom home is an experience of lifetime and is an enormous undertaking; The Ambassador team guided and supported us at every stage of the project making it a joyful and contented experience. Dan Motz designed all our interiors, converting our vision into a reality - Kitchen, Bathrooms, Closets, Laundry, Mudroom, Office, Temple and Pantry. Designing the interior of your choice is not easy, having a professional in-house team is a big plus. Douglas Foot is an amazing project manager who is very well organized and has incredible ability to manage and coordinate multiple teams at the same time for the project. Doug was very responsive and attentive to us throughout the entire process along with keeping the project going on schedule (finished ahead of schedule) Shout out to the entire team for an incredible job - Dan Motz (Designer), Douglas Foot (Project Manager), Anthony E. Belmonte (Plumber), Carlo Granta (Electrician), Daniel Brule (HVAC), José Paredes (Painting), Kenny (Masonry), Gary Cudio (Tiles), Office Staff (Michelle & Kathy) and the in-house team (Anand, Jose, Sindbad); They never skipped a beat and were always there when scheduled or needed. Entire team is professional, knowledged, trustworthy, hardworking, meticulous and organized. We proudly recommend Ambassador Home Improvement based on our pleasant experience, our house speaks for itself. Gary and his team have the experience and professionalism you need for building your dream home. They are extremely responsive during the whole process supporting any questions or concerns with their customer first approach. I would gladly contract them for any new projects in future - Ambassador is always our first and only choice for our home projects!!

Ambassador Home Improvment is an amazing company. They live up to their reputation. We found them after interviewing several other home improvement companies, and hiring Ambassador was the best decision we made. They handled everything from helping with an architect and planning, from demo to final inspection perfectly. Ambassador is a very professional, knowledgable, honest company. The owner Gary, our project manager Doug, the office team and crew are always there, on site or on the phone, on top of it all! We are so happy with the company, with our beautiful home. We contantly received compliemnts about the workmanship and dependability of the crew during construction. Now that it's done, we are still receiving compliments. If you need a home improvment company, hire these guys! They don't dissappoint! We highly recommend Gary and his company.

What can I say. Ambassador is everything they advertise and more! I looked into finishing my basement 4 years ago and went to Gary at Ambassador based in a recommendation from friends who had their home renovated. Unfortunately due to personal circumstances, the job was postponed for 4 years. When I reached out to Gary again, it was like not even a few days went by. I consider myself a perfectionist. A real stickler for detail. Probably a pain in the a** to most contractors. But my project manager Joe and the whole team never missed a beat. They addressed all of my concerns, worked weekends when necessary to get my family and kids into their new perfect space before the holidays. Just as promised. Their professionalism and attention to detail paid off. Fair on price. Professional. Accountable. Skilled. Respectful. Detail oriented. What more could one ask for. I would gladly speak to anyone on behalf of Ambassador. Gary and his team are a class act! Bravo!!!

Writing this review nearly 5 years after the initial work by Ambassador and going through subsequent tradespeople who were infinitely more professional, honest, thorough and thoughtful. We clearly got the C team, maybe even the D team from Ambassador, so word to the wise, if you want to be treated like 1 in 20 jobs, this company is the right one for you. From most recent to oldest: - Recently had our siding replaced and the siding guy said that the bathroom window Ambassador installed was the biggest hack job he’s ever seen and to never let them in our house again. - Poor grout and calking led to a leak below in our first floor kitchen. - Vented the bathroom fan by literally nailing a hanger to my attic ceiling and aiming the duct out of my attic fan - Used an accordion drain pipe instead of actual pvc plumbing (I kid you not) - Failed to actually test that the new shower head worked, so when we turned on the shower the first time and saw that it was leaking, I had to remove the shower head and put plumbers tape on pipe. That’s all I can remember for now, but I’m sure we’ll continue to find things along the way. I wouldn’t let these guys back in my house for a free bathroom. A 2 week job took 5 weeks...nothing like the C team.

In four short months, Ambassador Home Improvement turned our basic Levit cape into a beautiful 2700 sq ft mother-daughter home - all within budget and in time. More than that, the quality and craftsmanship of the work as well as the dedication of the Ambassador team gets my highest recommendation and wholehearted endorsement. If you need a quality job done properly, beautifully, and on time, don’t waste your time with others, just call Ambassador. After researching area contractors and asking around for recommendations, we decided to go with Ambassador mainly because of their stellar reputation for high quality jobs done in a timely fashion. We also brought a challenging set of circumstances to Gary Zaccaro and his team. My father, who was diagnosed with dementia several years ago, would have to move out of the house while the renovation was being completed. While we thought dad could handle this, it was important that our contractor work quickly and within a promised time frame. The situation only got worse as just when we were slated to move forward, he was diagnosed with colon cancer. The stress of my family was incredible but through all of this, Gary and Doug Foote (our project manager) made sure to work us into their production schedule and were incredibly sensitive to my family’s needs. We funded the project using a 203K Mortgage. This type of loan is very paper-work intensive, and it took a little effort on my end to follow the draws and disbursements from the bank. However, Michele and Kathy in the Ambassador office made sure that the paperwork was always in order and answered any of my questions promptly. One of the keys to Ambassador’s success, I think, is the very able and professional office support staff. They are wonderful. While we used our own architect, Gary and Doug worked seamlessly with him to ensure that our project was completed just as we envisioned it. As for the actual work, there was never a doubt in my mind that we were going to have the nicest house in the neighborhood once Ambassador was completed. From day one on April 24 when the demo crew showed up, the work moved along at an incredible pace. Within a week our home had a roof and windows, and we were well on our way to project completion. I developed a very strong working relationship and friendship our PM Doug. If I ever had a question or concern, Doug answered my text or call within ten minutes no matter what time of day or night, week day or weekend. In my opinion, Doug was the lynchpin to our getting back into the house on August 24 – four months to the day from when we began. We were promised a four month completion and that’s exactly what we got, due in large part to Doug’s skills and ability to coordinate and incredible number of subcontractors, tradesmen and craftsmen. Not only was Doug a great project manager, but he helped us envision a few alterations to the project along the way that made the finished project even better. He has a great sense of space and design and a keen ability to “get things done” that is impressive and a true testament to the skilled crew and quality work that Gary guarantees at the beginning of the process. To give you an idea of how impressed we are with Doug – he knows that our door is always open to him if he’s driving in the area day or night and we feel we could not have gotten through this stressful summer when so much “family stuff” was going on parallel to our renovation without his support and assistance. A few notes on other highlights of working with Ambassador. The rest of the Ambassador in-house crew couldn’t have been more courteous and professional. The guys (Anand, Jose, Sinbad) were quick to help me move a piece of furniture or help move building supplies around, even if it wasn’t their responsibility. The job site was always kept clean and safe and we could always rely on someone from the Ambassador crew giving us a heads up if a package got delivered or if they saw something at the house that they thought needed our attention as homeowners. Additionally, our plumber Anthony Belmonte really stood out as a man truly dedicated to his craft. My wife and I were due to go on vacation at the very end of the project but we needed to be sure that the house was livable for my folks before we left. Anthony and his mechanic Chris stayed until 9 PM one evening making sure the sinks were hooked up and ready to go so that my wife and I could leave my parents without worrying about them. The entire Ambassador team was really in tune with our family’s needs from start to finish. As for the nuts and bolts – our job was completed with the highest-quality materials and finishes including Andersen windows, Thermatru exterior doors and solid-wood interior doors (not the hollow core kind from the big box stores). You really get a sense that Gary and the team wouldn’t use anything but the best building materials because of the pride they take in their work. Even down to the joists (which were over-engineered vs. the architect’s specs) we know that everything in the house, on the house, behind the walls, and under the floors is top-notch. I cannot say enough about the Ambassador team, the company, and the speed and quality with which our project was completed. While anyone can use high quality materials, it takes a special group of people to make a high quality company. We were blessed and fortunate to work with Ambassador, lucky to have Doug as our project manager and could not recommend this company and these people enough. Please call them – you will not be disappointed!

Wouldn't even make an appointment for an estimate, so I would say… very poorly.
Description of Work: A tree fell on our house last week. I called for them to come out for an estimate. I was told that they are very bust right now and they don't want to get involved in my project. They are only handling gutting and rebuilds at the moment. Must be nice to turn away work to only handle what you foresee as the most lucrative jobs. Unfortunately it doesn't make you "The Best of Long Island" in my eyes.

Provider (Adam) came out and viewed the property, took pictures, to prepare estimate. Had some personal issues and was not able to get back to them. When I did call back I found out that Adam was no longer with the company. They apologized that the estimate hadn't been sent but I have never heard from them again. Adam was professional so I hate to give a negative review regarding him, it's the company.

Response from Ambassador Home Improvement Inc.
When Ambassador meets with a potential client, we pride ourselves in doing a thoughtful and complete analysis of the clients requirements and desires - We take the time that most of our competitors don't. We like to understand why a renovation is being undertaken and strive to exceed a clients expectation 100% of the time. Our follow up includes an in person review of our documented proposal with the client where additional adjustments in many cases are the norm. When competitors provide "rough quotes" they are simply that and nothing more. If there is a large discrepancy, more likely than not, the estimates are indeed not the same (apples & oranges). This estimate also included a kitchen, fireplace, siding, roofing, electrical upgrade and substantial masonry work. The aforementioned items were the requirements provided by the client and the basis for an initial estimate. It would be impossible for any contractor to complete this request with a $150K price tag. Ambassador prides itself in using the highest quality products, licensed and insured craftsmen and our guarantee of all work performed. Please be sure to complete your due diligence before beginning any home renovation project. Due diligence must include: a. Check BBB and Consumer Affairs records b. Check the contractors home office - Does it exist? Meet the staff - Verify who they truly are. c. How many trucks do they have? Can you count and touch them? d. Drive around existing and in progress jobs e. Get referrals. f. Who is the owner? Is he "hands on" or absentee? g. Is the proposal detailed? Do they review it and provide additional information where required? These are just a few steps to undertake before choosing a contractor. Ambassador will work you through each step to ensure your renovation is "worry free" and truly distinctive. "The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of a low price is forgotten"

They were very, very nice, but they did charge for the estimate. They did spend a lot of time with me, was very professional and he was a wonderful guy! However, they didn?t write up what the previous company botched, which is what I really need for a legal case and had them out for. They were also a bit on the expensive side. The estimate charge would go towards the total cost of the project.
