Always Affordable Chimney Inc

I called Always Affordable Chimney after receiving a proposal from another company and I wanted a second opinion. I'm glad I did! First off they are incredibly responsive. Someone was there to answer my call and schedule an appointment for 2 business days later. The other Company claimed that my fireplace flue was in need of repair and told me that I shouldn't use it. Tommy, the owner of always affordable, took me on the roof and showed me first hand how the fireplace flue was fine and that I really needed a liner for my Gas Furnace flue (which the other company never looked at). By showing me a before and after draft test in the basement with the hot water heater, I was easily able to understand the problem. They were able to complete the work right then and he gladly honored an angies list %15 off coupon. He even gives his cell phone number and makes it clear that he is available for questions. I highly recommend Tommy and his crew and they will be getting a yearly call from me for my Chimney Sweeping needs!

the service repairman took the time to explain what was wrong with my chimney as we just bought the house. he was not pushy, but really providing logical solutions as you can see the points he made showed several flaw with the chimney install. after 6 days of deliberation, i called him. They came the next day and finalized the repair. they were prompt, professional and i will use them again if ever needed

Company came look at chimney, said the previous installer did not do a good job and they will have correct it by removing the chimney lining and lengthen it, also have to install some elbows and done t shape something. This will cost $1,100, then they will be able to clean the chimney. I called in two additional chimney sweepers, they both said that everything is fine. I choose one to clean the boiler. Very disappointed with the experience from Always Chimney.

The job went as planned. The chimney was lined and capped and testing afterwards showed improved draft and all exhaust was leaving through the chimney. The job was supposed to take two to three hours but they had to order a smaller liner which they did not have on their truck but they were able to call someone who had it delivered 30 minutes later so the job could be completed. I would definitely recommend them without reservation

The chimney was dirty, and they cleaned it.

They were on time, knowledgeable and thorough. Explained problems of my chimney and how to best fix them then replaced caps on the spot even though this was not prearranged. Planning to have them back t sleeve chimney for conversion to gas.

The person came to the check.Seemed in a hurry. Quickly assessed the situation and said that it was beyond the scope of work and gave me an estimate for repairs.

The company was great. Very upfron and honest that they can not do this type of installation. The add wasn't clear and was posted on a Sunday so I was unable to determine the specifics prior to ordering. Please expedite this request. The Always Affordable Chimney Inc is in agreement.

They were fine, they just couldn't help me. They were professional.

Tommy and Alfredo arrived at my home mid-morning, inspected the chimney, from the vantage point of both the roof and the basement. We then had a discussion about the condition of the liner and what remedies were available to us. When we concluded our conversation, all of my questions were answered. We then discussed schedules and they were available immediately, but would have been willing to return at a later date. We agreed to do the work, agreed to a price and then got out of their way as they went about installing a liner, a junction and a cap - and cleaning up when the job was done. They are on my list for any future work we need done on our chimney's.

Couldn't get in my chimney. Recommended 2600$ of work and left. No cleaning and no refund. To be fair the chimney on the house I'm renting was a mess, however I got the distinct impression that the ONLY purpose of the chimney clean special is to sell stainless steel liners cause that's where they make their profit. Nice guys though, call them if you need a liner.

I was very disappointed with their service, the owner was present and it seems like this was a way to upsell other services. I was told right away that my chimney was in bad shape and would need a linner, cost $1200. When I showed no interest in what he had to sell, the chimney sweep job was completed. The guy down in the basement took his time opening the flute, so he barely vaccumed for 2-3 mins, before he was told by the owner to stop. They took longer getting situated, ie the first guy going up on the roof and the other guy in the basement, the actual job at best took about 5-8 mins, and I am being generous with the time. Very disappointed with Always Affordable Chimney Inc, will not use them in the future.

For about 3 years I have had black soot pellets coming into my garage under the oil burner chimney. I had then cleaned up every year or so. And I had someone in to check it out 2 years ago. At that time I had estimate of 4000 and 350 to fix the problem. But I never had anything done. I had another company come to do an estimate a month agoa nod they told me 2300. I called Always Affordable Chimney and they were able to fit me into the schedule and accommodate my crazy hours. They arrived promptly at 7:30 am and were out by 8:30. The owner of the company took a quick look and had a horrified look on his face. He explained that I have a 7" burner, with an 8" chimney and someone put a 6" liner in it, which was choking the furnace and doing a lot of damage. When he took the liner out, we also saw that the liner was obstructing the pipe to the furnace,and I was lucky my house didn't catch fire, as the liner was charred at the bottom. He explained to m e that while he could sell me a liner to fit, the chimney itself was a top notch and didn't need one,especially since it was bigger than the furnace required. So he took out the old one, put the correct cap on (circular not rectangular) and was out of there.

The work was done nicely and on time. There were a lot of additional costs which were optional, which I did not like. However, everyone from the company was very professional and the work was done quickly. Even though the price was more than expected, I would use them again.

From the initial phone contact with Mindy in the office to schedule the appointment to the actual performing of the service by Tom and an assistant, it was all pleasant and professional. They even arrived at the beginning of the 3-hour window I was given. I had contacted a contractor in the past regarding what I thought was a rust stain coming from the chimney running down the side of my house. I was given a price to replace the chimney cap with a stainless steel cap. Tom told me it was not rust but residue from burning home heating oil so I did not need to replace the chimney cap. It was really nice getting an honest assessment and not being sold something I didn't need.

I had to have my hot water heater disconnected due to a vent issue which meant I would have no hot water until I could afford to get it fixed. I contacted Always Affordable Chimney and Tommy and his coworker were kind enough to come to my house last minute to check it out and give me an estimate on what it would cost to fix it. After they evaluated the chimney and the hot water heater they found a few issues. They not only explained to me what the problem was but they brought me to the basement and showed me where the problem was. He then gave me an estimate on how much it would cost to fix everything that needed to be fixed and it was way beyond what I could pay, even after he gave me several options. At that point I had told him that I am a senior citizen who lives with my daughter who has down syndrome and I am really only concerned with getting my hot water turned back on. He walked out to his truck grabbed supplies and got right to work. He and his coworker replaced out of code piping and replaced a missing chimney cap, which could have easily cost me several hundred dollars, and they did it all for free. They wouldn't even accept a tip from me. I am beyond grateful that they got my hot water up and running at absolutely no cost to me. Tommy was very professional and kind. I would definitely recommend Always Affordable Chimney to anyone needing work.

Thought this was a great deal, but the vendor contacted me within minutes of booking and explained that the offer was not for fireplace, chimneys. They were courteous and respectful and advised me to reach out to Angie's List for a refund.

I called to make an appointment for the chimney sweep. I was presently surprised to find that the company right away. Tommy arrived on time, with another gentlemen. They immediately went to work. Shortly after they started, I was asked to come and look at my chimney. It was brought to my attention that while doing the sweep that the inside lining of my chimney was problematic because my chimney did not have a liner. Tommy explained the dangers of not having a chimney liner without any pressure to have the services performed. He answered my questions and then left me a quote for the chimney liner. Several weeks later, Tommy called to follow up regarding the liner., but we decided not to go ahead with this service. I was pleased with the services provided from Always Affordable Chimney. I would recommend them.

Excellent experience. Installers were on time. They explained the job while answering my questions. Job included larger & longer lining than offer. All costs were explained and agreed to. They also cleaned and reconnected the chimney to furnace feed but also repaired some loose brick and mortar. They cleaned everything. I was completely satisfied with this work.

Why must every chimney sweep company attempt to up-sell you with scare tactics? I have used several over the years and each one starts with dire warnings about how this flue or that is showing signs of wear and should be replaced. It was no different with this company. And the chimney brush they used looked older than I am and had less hair than I do on my head. The Chimney Safety Institute of America says a proper cleaning and inspection will take 60 - 90 minutes, So what do I make of a company that is in and out so quickly? Always Affordable Chimney Inc was no better -- and no worse -- than any other I have used over the years. They have all been sub-par Next year I will look for a certified chimney sweep (there are plenty in Westchester) and skip these cut rate salesmen
