The Service Provider showed up within the time frame given,when he arrived he was very professional and came with two other workers. They were very knowledgeable with what work they came to my house to do. The owner told me that someone had put tar around the chimney cap and he was not able take the cap off without doing damage to the top of the chimney. Before he left he e-mailed me an estimate and also pictures of what it looked like on my chimney, so I can show the picture's to my wife. Was very happy with this Provider and his honesty.

Went very well, they showed us photos of everything that needed to be done, gave us our options along the way. They even came back after completion to cover the cement work when an unexpected downpour started, and returned to check it a couple days later. They were very professional and thorough. I can't get over how much better our heat works now, wish we would have done this sooner.

I thought the whole job was a bit pricey (then again, everything you do in a house seems to always add up!), BUT they did do the work that the other guy I called wouldn't even consider doing for this price, so they really are "Always Affordable"!

They were both friendly and professional. It was a really cold day, they worked fast and efficiently, so I wouldn't be without heat for any unnecessary length of time. They even did a few extras for me. I would highly recommend them. Thank you Angie's List.

They installed the chimney liner the same day they did the estimate. Work was performed professionally & they were neat. Everything was explained to me as the work was being done.

Overall, it went well. I initially purchaed the $99- chimney cap and inspection deal and was surprised by the overall price. However; considering the safety hazard of the blocked oil flue and the broken flue door in the fireplace, I feel the price was sufficient. Perhaps it was the holiday season, but having them come by took a little time. I had to wait over two weeks for an appointment. However; they were promptly on time on the scheduled date. They were very clean when we asked them to be. They took off their boots and made sure to limit the amount of ash and dust that made its way into the house. They also cleaned the ash from the oil flue completely and showed us that the blockage was cleared as well as cleaning the fireplace. They also took pictures of everything to show us the individual problems and explained everything to a tee. I used the fireplace recently after the work was accomplished and the damper seems to be working just fine.

It went pretty good and they did a chimney sweep for me. They came on time and did what they needed to do and found no major problems.

Tommy is a no BS kind of guy. I see other reviewers trying to give negative marks because they feel he is selling a product. Well, as a mechanical engineer and someone who has been a DIYer for 20 years I can assure you he knows his stuff and is only recommending what needs to be done. He explained everything to me and I went up on the roof with him as well. There was no doubting what he said needed to be done. I only wish I had called him years earlier. It's one of those things that you never think about, until it all fails. Professional, to the point and on time. Couldn't ask for better. Thanks guys for the great job.

If this company comes out and tells you that your liner is falling apart and that you're in danger of blow-back, politely thank them and call for a second opinion. Affordable Chimney opened up the little trap door where debris falls and told me that all the debris was a sure indication that my liner was crumbling. But this little trap door is NOT how you diagnose a liner problem. Mr Chimney (who I called, thank goodness, for a second opinion) actually removed the silver tube that connects to the boiler, and with a light and a mirror showed me that my liner is actually brand new. In great condition. Maybe needs to be cleaned next year, but certainly not dangerous. Be careful with this deal...

worker doing the clean was very good although it just saw him use a wet/dry vac and apply suction form the bottom of chimminy. Maybe I missed it but I am assuming there would be a sweep from top to bottom or visa versa. Said I need a liner and gave me a good price. Did not give me an idea of how much deterioration of the masonary portion of the chimminy just the aluminum portion from heater to chimminy enterance--so I don't know the urgence of installing the liner. Also he(seemed to me he was the man in charge) did a quick inspection of my wood-burning fireplace for no additional cost which I appreciate, but his answers were very abrupt and very short on expanded explanation. All in all I would rate that as good .

They came to the house and they looked at the chimney. The Big Deal was for an 8x8 chimney, but ours is a circle dimensions chimney and they mentioned that it was about $175 for that. We opted out of that service. At least 3 workers came out for the deal. They were nice and professional.

Tommy and his crew did a very good job on a very rainy afternoon! They worked quickly and efficiently, and cleaned the place after the work was done.

My installation was more complex than was covered by the big deal. Always affordable was, honest, upfront and open to discussion. When it turned out the work I needed wasn't eligible under the big deal, they gladly refunded my money via the Angie's list process. thank you Always Affordable

From my first contact with this company it has been nothing but a pleasure. Tommy and the staff were in contact with me on a number of occasions. When it came time to do the work, Tommy gave me a fair estimate and was able to do the job on the spot. Tommy, Alfredo and a young man who's name I didn't get were courteous, professional and extremely efficient. On top of all of this, they came all the way from Long Island to Staten Island. I would recommend them highly.

So far, so good, I don't anticipate having any problem getting my refund.

What a great company!! I originally contacted another company (Done Right) and was given a written estimate of $2700 after a 5 minute EXTERIOR inspection for replacing my chimney flue and installing a cap (the old one was clay and finally crumbled from Sandy)! He looked up at the chimney (which admittedly was old, my house was built in the 60's ) from the outside and said it would be "a lot of work" to fix, but he had everything in the truck to do it right then. (How convenient, it was 5pm!!) I politely declined and said I didn't have $2700 to drop right there and would have to check back with him. He said it was dangerous to wait much longer and I risked carbon monoxide poisoning or a fire. I'm not some dumb chick and was immediately skeptical of him at this point. I showed his written estimate to a friend who was a contractor for his opinion and asked how much a job like this should cost. He used to work for them years before and told me I was getting ripped off and to look elsewhere. Well, I joined Angie's List because I just didn't trust anyone at this point and didn't know all of the right questions to ask. Now I wish I read the reviews before calling them! Done Right's office called me again to follow up and said they can "work with me" on cost if that was the issue. However, the manager would have to do another site visit to see if it was "safe" for his guys to do work and if there would be any additional cost since my chimney was blocked with soot . (Which I found out later from Tommy at Always Affordable it wasn't!) No thanks, Done Right!! Long story short, Tommy and Mandy from Always Affordable Chimney are the nicest, most PROFESSIONAL team out there! They didn't play games, no haggling over prices, and were VERY accommodating!! Tommy took his time (approx 20 mins), walked me through and explained the entire job without cost being the first discussion point. He also showed and assured me that my chimney wasn't blocked and I wasn't in danger of fire or carbon monoxide poisoning like I was told from Done Right. This was around October 20th(?) Tommy did the work on the 25th for $500 LESS than Done Right (with no prompting or advance knowledge)! Who knows if I still overpaid?? The service and end result were well worth every penny!! All work was done as promised, the flue was replaced and I had a brand new, custom chimney cap in about 1 1/2 hours!! Thanks Tommy, Mandy (and the other gentleman who helped with the install) for a great job and outstanding service!!

They called me before they arrived to ensure I was available. When they first came for the chimney sweep, they found that the liner needed to be replaced. They were able to come the next day to replace that as well. They showed up on time and they did an excellent job! I worked closely with Tom and he had two other technicians complete the work with him. They were very courteous, nice, and made me feel comfortable.

Punctual, professional and reasonably priced. Explained the entire job and answered all questions to complete satisfaction. Cleaned and repaired area both on the roof and above the oil boiler. Fredo and his helper were very polite and efficient. Would recommend them highly.

I was very pleased with Alfredo and his helper. They were efficient, knowledgeable and courteous they cleaned after themselves and as they worked they showed me the before and after. I wasn't expecting the extra work or cost but Alfredo assured me that it would beneficial to do it correctly now and save myself the headache and additional cost later. Alfredo was a true professional.
