I'm changing to gas heat from oil. The permit requires that my chimney is in good condition. Tommy and his crew came out and checked out the chimney. Apparently the ceramic liner was cracked. Some pieces were at the bottom of the flue. The inspection also turned up a missing sheet metal screw. During a routine cleaning my oil service company had removed the screw from the chimney flue where it held two duct lengths together. I had noticed a funny smell from the cellar usually when the boiler was running. I had mentioned it to my oil dealer. They came and tuned up the boiler. It seemed to get better but never went away. It turns out that fumes were coming out of a one inch seperation in the ducts. The boiler vibrates when it is running. With time and gravity the seam just opened up. But we were lucky. The duct could have just fallen on the ground and suffocated us or started a fire. A little bit scary. All for a forgotten screw. I scheduled the repair. A double walled steel chimney liner was slid into place. Sounds easy but my chimney bends around the fire place. A chimney cap was placed, and the ductwork from my boiler to the chimney was replaced...and secured with lots of screws. Thanks Tommy and the Crew who found the screw and knew it was important.

They did a prompt chimney cleaning service. Gave a quote for installing a new lining; no pressure but suggested to fix. Would recommend to others.

My chimney cap had blown off a few times and it time too have it replaced . I originally called to go with the coupon special, but I learned my chimney cap was not the average chimney cap, and had to be ordered. No worries, they were able to get me one the next day and install it. Unfortunately not for the same price. But hey, they were fast and efficient.

Overall went very smooth. Showed up early and completed job within the hour. Explained everything and whole crew was very polite and professional. Would hire again.

I was satisfied with the service. They cleaned out my bigger chimney, but they would not clean out my smaller chimney because they told me there was a crack in it that needed to be repaired. They also gave me a quote to repair the crack but I thought they were just trying to get more money. I will not use them again. They got the cleaning done in about 15 minutes.

After receiving a $5,500.00 Estimate for this same job I was stressed out and trying to find the money. On advise to get a second estimate, I remembered Angie's list and joined. Right away Always Affordable Chimney, Inc. caught my attention with it's many A reviews listed. I called it's 24 hour emergency # and left a voice message. Right away I was called back by Chris, who was ready and eager to assist me and asked if my heat was out (which it was for the third night). It was after 1am but my information was taken and Chris followed up and I had an appointment for later that same day. They were on time and an inspection, estimate, labor and clean up were all done in less than 3 hours. I am more than satisfied. I am ecstatic with the whole experience of courteous and efficient services rendered to my home. Thank you very much. And my relatives thank you very much too (I was really crying out from the first estimate). :-D

From start to finish, their work was the BEST - professionally and maturely handled, and very reassuring - with everything patiently and thoroughly explained. Really extraordinarily complete, and done with polite explanation, which is what a customer (like myself) with only a little "house knowledge" truly needs. This business is a true "find," and I can't recommend them highly enough!

They installed stainless steel, double-walled liner for the full length of the chimney. Installed stainless steel T with T cover, storm collar, top plate and top cap and replaced all rotted smoke pipe. Re-cemented chimney crown. Work was completed in specified time, all excess material was removed and brought out to the curb. We would definitely recommend this company.

I ordered $99 special online for 2 mixed use bldgs. They told me caps I ordered were smaller and I needed to pay double for 13x13 caps. They then claimed they were sending me a written proposal for cracked flue repair which was never received. They also showed up 3 hours late to the job site.

Tommy and his crew first came on March 15th and inspected chimney as part of Angie's list deal I purchased in November 2013 for $99.00 . I was given estimate on lining chimney ($2,350.00) and for custom made chimney cap ($350.00). After some thought, I elected to go with the cap alone. I called company on March 21st . Cap was custom made. It was installed on morning of March 22nd.

I purchased purchased an Angie's List Big Deal from Always Affordable Chimney which included a stainless steel chimney cap and a chimney inspection. I selected Always Affordable Chimney based on the many excellent reviews they have on Angie's List and the very reasonable price for the service. Always Affordable Chimney called me back on the day I purchased the deal (Thursday) and we scheduled the service for Saturday morning. Tommy (the owner) and his 2 man crew showed up to my home at the planned day and time. It didn't take too long to know that I had made a good choice in selecting Always Affordable Chimney. I explained to the team that I had observed a squirrel going in and out of the chimney for the past few days and I suspected the creature was building a nest. Tommy eagerly went up to the roof and one of his assistants went down to the basement and in short order they extracted a squirrel's nest from the top of the flue and some debris from the bottom. The team worked very well together and efficiently. The team then installed the new stainless steel cap which has a heavy-duty screen to keep out debris and animals (unlike my old cap which just protected the chimney from rain). I appreciated Tommy's explanation of the steps he took to install the new cap which included trimming some of the flue pipe at the top and the use of caulk to help secure the cap to the chimney. Tommy also made some keen professional recommendations for modernizing the chimney liner which is starting to show some signs of age (the recommendations include the reconfiguration of existing flue connections to enhance safety). Our budget does not currently have room to accommodate the modernizations Tommy suggested, but we will use Always Affordable Chimney for any future chimney needs. Tommy -- Thank you for removing the squirrel's nest and keeping them from coming back with the new chimney cap. I appreciate the excellent work you did and I echo the the many fine recommendations you have on Angie's List.

The whole experience was unique! I have a house that is over 100 years old and I recently noticed that the outside of the chimney was in severe disrepair. I knew nothing about chimney's until Tommy and his crew arrived and they educated me. They inspected the inside and outside of the chimney and they found that the inside of the chimney was totally collapsed. He showed me exactly what the problem was what needed to be done to rectify the potentially dangerous situation. They installed the lining and pipes right away and left the work area cleaner than when they arrived. I asked for a quote to repair or replace the outside of the chimney and I got one immediately. They did not pressure me into doing the additional work and said that, now that the inside was safe, I could wait to do the outside. I will definitely call them when I am ready to have the chimney replaced.

Tommy and two assistants arrived between 1:00 and 1:30 p.m. Estimate was provided. I told them I would give it some thought. Custom made chimney cap alone would cost $350. taking into consideration the initial payment of $99. made in November.I will get other estimates.

My one negative was they showed up late and didn't call to let me know beforehand. The work however seems to be of very good quality and the price was definitely fair. When I voiced my concerns to them they were very quick to respond and seem very anxious to maintain a good reputation through their customer service.

I called at 11AM for an estimate and by 6PM I had a completely new liner, cap and exhaust pipes for my gas water heater and oil burner. They worked with my schedule to be available to review my chimney. When they arrived, the work was straightforward and needed to be done. He offered me a fair price and could do the job immediately. Within 2 hours they replaced a previous incorrect installation and gave me piece of mind that the whole assembly was now perfect. I had done significant research beforehand and Tommy was knowledgeable and took the time to address my questions. I don't feel as if anything was missed or was added to the job that wasn't necessary.

The service was good. The guy was good. Micheal was helpful in getting me the information I needed to move forward with my project. I did feel like he was rushed and overwhelmed. He wasn't listening at first, but he was good later. They were punctual, they actually showed up early.

Provider was honest in stating I had a closed system and it did not need to be serviced.

The big deal for Always Affordable Chimney Inc. turned out good. They came in right then after the big deal purchase. I like that the service provider was polite and honest. I probably would not need to use this provider in the future but I would use them if needed.

Everything went very well. The technicians were very professional and very tidy.

I just bought the house, so I didn't know much about this topic. The men that were here gave me some basic info and did a great job. The job took a very short amount of time and I was very pleased with the level of service I received. When I asked if I needed the service, the tech told me I didn't (very honest), but again I wasn't sure when it was cleaned last. For $29.00 it was a worthy purchase given I got a bit of an education on my chimney. While they were here, the tech did try and sell me on a few things I "needed," but that is to be expected. Nothing pushy, just a few issues he saw. Again, I liked the information and there was not pressure in the sell. All in all, great experience! I highly recommend them!

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that we purchased. It was very good and the guy did a nice job. Everything went as he stated. It was well done. They had to put in a couple of extra hundred feet so it was done at the same proportionate price so their price was very reasonable.

Always Affordable Chimney was fast, reliable, professional and did a fantastic neat and clean job. After installing a new gas hot water heater yesterday, my plumber told me that I had a problem with my chimney which was causing carbon monoxide leakage. I called two companies for estimates. The first one (Mamaroneck based) never actually examined the chimney itself. He told me they would be jack hammering my house for 5-10 hours to repair it. Today Always Affordable Chimney came in, and their price was fair and they educated me what was really wrong and how they were going to fix it. The owner Jimmy was with them, and he and his two workers were professional, and gave me top quality material and labor. Within two hours the job was finished, and I was thrilled with the quality of their work. Yes, I highly recommend Always Affordable Chimney. Wish I could give them *****+ rating.

Tommy, Alberto & Chris did an excellent job. I called originally just to have my chimney cleaned and was advised after looking into my chimney that it needed a liner. Did not expect there was a problem, but recently birds were getting into my basement and my family all complaining about having headaches. I do believe Tommy ( owner)we did have carbon monoxide seeping into our basement. The only people I feel scammed from was the person who sold me this house and the blind bat inspection company that inspected my home before purchasing. I would recommend Always Affordable Chimney to anyone that suspects they have a chimney problem.
