Petro was responsive and came out that evening as requested. The service man was efficient and checked everything. he also explained how to make any adjustments I needed to in the future. I have always found Petro to be reliable. I pay for their service agreement, so there is no single visit charge.

I've been with them for so many years. It just used to be Petro Oil, then it moves over to Petro Home Services but to me it was the same thing. I have a service contract with them, it cost me zero.

I was upset with them this year because when I called for an appointment to have my furnace cleaned, they gave me an appointment in January. I said, I've never had that experience, I am calling in September, my contract says that I am supposed to be able to have it cleaned by September 30th and I've always had it cleaned. So then I called again another time that day and I got an appointment for November 20th. Then I kept calling and calling and then my cousin lives in Long Island and I told her about it. I said, you better call because the dates they are telling me are in February and March now. She called and got an appointment right away for October the beginning. How did she do that? So I called again and again, they are giving me like these late dates and said how can that be? I said my cousin just called, she got 2 dates in October and one was for early October so why is it that I am being offered these dates so far away? They said, well, on Long Island where she lives, they apparently must run it differently or had more workers out there. I said, I think something is not right here. I was very disappointed. Then they called me the other day and gave me an appointment for the end of October, which is better than the end of November. In that perspective I wasn't pleased because I said the main reason I deal with you is not because of your oil, because I know other companies can sell the oil for cheaper, but I deal with you because you always have been very good on service but this doesn't sound like you are going to be very good on service if I call for a date in September and you are giving me dates so far away. They called in the summer because they wanted you to sign a contract for a ceiling price for the oil. It is covered under your contract so you don't have to pay anything. They do what they are supposed to do which is they are supposed to give you a new nozzle and new filter. They are supposed to check out the rubbers on the water. They are supposed to look at the base of the chimney and be sure that there is not any buildup there. Then they are supposed to look inside the furnace to see what needs to be vacuumed. It had nothing to do with refilling oil, they are just the service people. If it is not serviced properly, you burn more oil or it could create some sediment in your machine and everything could be a problem and it could set a fire or something. It is very important to have it cleaned every year. However, if there service isn't going to be what it used to be then I'll look around for another company because this is my first experience to see...something's not right the way it used to be, something's changing. The service has always been very good. I know the price of their oil is too much. They didn't give me a very good response on this cleaning. When they assign to come a certain time, they usually do. The men who come are very good.

That was fine at the beginning. I was in a contract with them for maybe two years and then there service kind of deteriorated.

I am on a contract with them. I have been with them for over 40 years. They are just there. Their oil is far more expensive than just about anybody else's oil. I could never understand this because they have such a large organization. Right now I am having difficulty with them because I bought a boiler and now they are telling me I need a new boiler again.
