Barry Sherer, the owner, is a Certified Gas Engineer, past president of the Heating Cooling Contractors of Western New York, past Secretary /Treasurer of the American Society of Gas Engineers , Western N ew York Chapter. Barry has been featured on the local channels 2, 4 & 7 news as an industry expert.In 2002, Barry was written up in a national magazine, Comfortmaker News, for installing more 2-stage heating systems than single stage systems, proving his comittment to increasing his customers comfort and efficiency. Barry has won the national competition of all Certified Energy Star Contractors in NYC in 2004. Barry has been awarded BNI Member of the Year, "Event Co-ordinator" in 2009 and Member of the Year for "Giver's Gain" in 2010.

Residential heating and air conditioning equipment, new electrical entrance wires, meter boxes, new breaker panel boxes and whole house home generators, humidification, electronic air cleaning, fresh air ventilation systems, boilers, chimney liners & digital thermostats. One of our claims to fame is the implementation of the CARRIER INFINITY SYSTEM. This system is a communicating system that "knows" exactly how many BTU's to use and tells the owner to call us before damage is done to the system.

SHERER HEATING & AC is now part of COMPLETE HEAT. Sherer did the Energy Star? Home Performance Assessment, and Complete did the work. Came to the house on time, was very thorough, efficient, professional, and happy to explain everything. The audit cost a little much, though, and some of the options were way overpriced. For example, $1,700 for new water heater, $3,000 for attic insulation, $5,000 for new AC. Overall satisfied, and would recommend, if you can avoid being suckered into unnecessary options.
Description of Work: SHERER HEATING & AC is now part of COMPLETE HEAT. Sherer did the Energy Star® Home Performance Assessment, and Complete did the work. Checked the furnace, AC unit, ductwork, water heater, basement air leakage, basement windows, house windows, all gas appliances, bathroom fan, attic insulation, and total house air leakage. Generated report and work estimates, went over all the options, created contract, and did the work. Provided paperwork for rebates and taxes.

Sherer Heating is no longer part of another company. When I started with the "other company", my business had grown to the point where I could not keep up with the sold work. I was hired as the "Energy Star" consultant only, and my quoted work was done by a second party. The Audit was designed to show you how you could make your house the "MOST" energy efficient as possible. There were lesser priced options available. As far as the audit price is concerned, The 8 - 10 hours that it took only works out to be about $40 -$50.00 per hour. To have an engineer evaluate your home, give you a 14 - 15 page written report with the complete energy analysis of how you can save money and have him sit with you for an hour and explain all your options, that's a bargain. I have 40 years experience in the HVAC field. Less experienced inspectors can do lesser jobs for a cheaper price. You were also given ideas on energy saving tips that you could do your self. For free. I have since left the merger and I run my company completely on my own, again. I have my long time installer back with me and can take care of all your needs. I do want to mention that the $4,215.00 quoted A/C unit was for (at that time), the top of the line, Carrier 2 stage 17 SEER unit. That is a communicating unit that used 75% less electricity to operate. Entry level ac units were being quoted for $2,300.00. The water heater was also a high efficiency, sidewall vented power unit that cost me three times what a standard tank costs. It needed an electrical circuit to be run. This water heater also uses no chimney. It was a PVC vented model. Sincerely, Barry A. Sherer, CGE

The professionalism and depth of knowledge displayed by all company employees was very impressive. The project schedule was accelerated from the original agreed upon dates due to some surprise out-of -town family guests. The new schedule was executed without a hitch with exceptional results. The employees arrived as scheduled, were very neat and courteous to me and my family and the work area was cleaned daily prior to work stoppage. The old furnace and AC units were removed from the property as was all other ducting and miscellaneous parts that were eliminated or replaced. This project went so well, I have hired this company to perform work at my rental property in Buffalo, as well as performing other smaller jobs at my primary residence. All done with the same level of professionalism and the exceptional results of the HVAC system replacement.
Description of Work: We needed to replace our aging furnace and central AC system. After getting a few other estimates we called Barry Sherer (Sherer Heating & Air Cond) who made several personal visits to our home to help plan the project, assist in selecting the best system and options that served our purpose and conduct an energy analysis including a detailed explanation of the results. He did not lead us into purchasing expensive options we did not need and provided a detailed estimate which after the work was completed was actually a little higher than the final cost of the project. He performed all coordination with a subcontractor (whom performed the insulation portion of the project) and the town for permits/inspections etc.. A new furnace and central AC unit were installed, modifications were made to some exisiting duct work, some insulation was installed, as well as changes in the venting for the clothes dryer, along with elimination of a down draft vent used with a previous kitchen cooktop. This was one of the most expensive projects I had ever undergone, and dealing with Barry made me totally comfortable with my decisions and the final result.

The reps name is Steve, good man, had to make three trips to get job finished. Had one problem that got resolved on last visit. Quite happy with service, would recommend.
Description of Work: My furnace quit, Sherer came over, installed new blower motor and belt, put in new fan limit, and thermostat, new filter, cleaned whole system, cleaned cold air returns, furnace is kind of old, said next year I should consider a new two stage furnace.
