PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF, AND YOUR STRESS LEVEL and DO NOT HIRE!!! In Oct 2015 we had a 700 sq ft stamped concrete patio put in by Bob and Al Broad and their team. They did show up promptly to do the job. When they finished there were drip marks of staining down the front of one of the one stairs and all down the front of the patio itself. When I pointed it out to Bob, who went off the handle strongly telling me in a not so nice way that was all in my mind. Finally of 30 mins of belittling me, even appalling the neighbor( who was nearly 200 ft away and could hear him), because he was talking to me in such a manner, he attempted to fix the problem (it still wasn't to our liking, but at this point we just wanted to be done with him). When he was done he did admit that the drip marks were there and when I asked why, he said it wasn't done right. He told us that because of our trouble he would reseal for free in 3 yrs, because we wouldn't need it till then. After he left my husband and I never used the patio, we were afraid to do anything to it, besides winter was coming. We never even cleaned the grass or the gardens around it leaving everything as is. WELL, not 6 months later after the snow was gone the entire patio was showing bald spots (no staining) and the entire patio had white spots through out. After contacting R Broad a few times, I was finally told by the person who answers the phone (that poor girl), that Al was out (they never told me they were coming or that they came) and he said that the patio was filthy and needed to be power washed. I explained it wasn't dirt that what the coloring looked like, but I cleaned it anyways, taking pics before, during and after and guess what IT LOOKED THE SAME. So the concrete experts (As Bob will tell you, there is no one better then him) can't tell the difference between dirt and flawed coloring in concrete. Finally Bob called me, which I cringed having to talk to him, because the customer is never right, he knows everything. He told me that all patios look like that, he is the best in the business and I was over reacting. Well if all his patios looks like that, let that speak volumes. He told me it is a simple touch up job and he hadn't even come out at this time to see for himself what was going on. I don't know how a 700 sq ft patio repair is a simple touch up?! I asked if he could please come look at it himself and that I wanted to be there to show him my concerns. His reply was "I have eyes, I can see what is going on". Funny, cause Al had eyes too and he claimed it was just dirt. He then told me that it must be our fault that we must have cleaned it too much, and since he doesn't live here he can't claim that we didn't. How'd he guess it, I was out there ALL OF WINTER cleaning my patio, cause I have nothing better to do. You can't have a simple conversation with this man, he over talks you and has an excuse for everything (and keeps telling you how great he is, and he is the best in the business), all I want is him to fix the issue without belittling me telling me I'm unreasonable, he doesn't even have to admit that they did something wrong, just fix it without blaming the customer!! I guess that's being too unreasonable in his eyes. Needless to say I couldn't take it anymore so I promptly contacted the BBB to file a complaint and guess what.... well Bob finally came out to look at our patio. I didn't even want to talk to him so my husband went with him to look at the patio. I can't tell you what the conversation was, only that all I could here is Bob yelling again, and my husband barely able to get a word in. I think he finally realized that he was scaring my son, so he sort of changed his manner. He called later saying that he would be out the next day to re-seal the patio so I could enjoy it for Mother's Day (a little late to be nice), however we had to power wash the patio ourselves. Well he did come the next day to seal. The coloring still doesn't look as rich as it did when it was first done, but I hope we are done with them forever!!!

We called for an estimate for the patio, and our phone call was promptly returned, and an appointment was set up. Allen Broad arrived at the appointment on time, and spent a lot of time with us, going over what we wanted, and offered many useful options. He then went and accurately measured exactly what we would need. He then went out to his vehicle, and drew up a professional looking drawing, and gave us a price. We decided to go with R. Broad, based on their superior reputation in this area. We did obtain two other quotes for this job, one being more expensive, and one less. Neither of the other concrete contractors gave us the impression that they were and quot;expertsand quot; in this type of application. NO Deposit was required for the job. The crew arrived on the designated day, and we cannot believe the professionalism displayed while this work was done. They laid down a plywood path all the way from the road, back to the jobsite. NO Ruts left in the yard at all, and the back of the house was draped in plastic to protect the siding. The patio was done in one day, with a crew of about 7 guys. The next day, they came back to complete the job, (saw cuts, staining,...). The patio is stunning! Everything was done so meticulous. The owner, Bob, was on site from start to finish. This has been a great experience. I can only say that if you want a professional job done, with no regrets, and want someone who knows what they're doing, go with R. Broad. It may be a few more bucks then someone else, but you will end up being sorry if you don't choose R. Broad. We made that mistake seven years ago, using another local contractor, (Lund Concrete). Boy, was that a sorry mess. But that's another story...

R Broad Concrete made a mistake while pouring the concrete for the patio that made part of it a different color than the rest. I had to do a lot of arguing with the owner of the company to get them to come and fix it. The workmen were respectful.
Description of Work: R Broad Concrete put a patio on the side and back of our house. They also added stairs and some concrete.
