Mr Squires persence on the job never lasted more than an hour, and in repeated visits he moved two sockets each time, The work was not completed when the heating company came to installl the baseboard heating, so sockets were lost. This belated review is prompted by a review written a few months ago, which detailed apparently identical behaviour by Mr Squire to that demonstrated in our case twelve years ago!.
Description of Work: Chan Squire was asked to move a dozen electric outlets from the baseboard to higher up the wall in each case. This was required before new baseboard heating was installed in December 2000. His presence on the job never lasted more than an hour, and repeated visits moved two sockets per visit and left the job incomplete at the deadline. .

We hired Chan to rewire our basement and entire first floor following the flooding of our home by Hurricane Irene. Initially he was punctual and reliable. He began working on our house on Thursday, 6 October. For a day here and there he would come to the house and trace out wires or do small jobs. He was not able to dedicate himself to our house, he said, because he was finishing up others. For 14 days I requested a written estimate from him and was promised one. Finally on the 20th he gave me the estimate: $1600 up front (half), $1200 half way, and $400 at the end. Because of all we had been through neither my husband nor I noticed this HUGE red flag so we signed the contract and Chan began our house. For the next 23 days he ran around our house without a plan or idea. He would be working in the living room for a bit, then move to the kitchen, then the bathroom, then back to the living room. It was chaotic. Of course, that was on days he would show up. He had excuse after excuse for showing up at 2 in the afternoon, or not at all. He wasted more days than he worked. Thankfully we weren't paying him by the hour or by the day. Finally on Friday, 28 October, I could take no more of this and I asked Chan how much longer he would need. "It takes how long it takes". On Saturday 29 October I fired Chan for being unreliable. It was only then he told me he was half way done and due $1200. Thankfully I was able to find another electrician who came in Monday morning and verified that Chan was indeed halfway done. The problem is that he was halfway through EVERYTHING. He had begun every job and finished none of them. My house is literally half lit. BE FOREWARNED: When I told Chan he was being fired for being unreliable and slow he said "Well I had other jobs. No one can do only one house at a time. My Advice: I would not hire Chan to change a light bulb. We hired Terry Johnson of 4 J's Home Services in Arkville to finish Chan's job. I will review them/him when he is done.
Description of Work: Replace electric panel. Remove and replace old wiring. Bring house up to code. Add a couple of extra outlets and/or switches. Add outside security lights. Add outside outlet.
