McClurg Remodeling

Description of Work: McClurg renovated three bathrooms in our house. This was the second time we had used them, and we realized that the team who works on your project is not always the same. In the end, we were happy with the renovations, but it seemed as though there were more delays than days when things ran smoothly. (The project ended up going from the middle of June to the end of October.) Most delays seemed to be caused by plumbing problems, with incorrect parts sent several times. Our lead carpenter was not always present when he was needed to oversee work being done and cleanup when subcontractors were being used. His own work was excellent, however. We did not have weekly meetings to talk things over on this project, something I missed from our earlier McClurg project. But -- the bottom line is that they do excellent work, and are responsive to the customer. We made one large change and McClurg was able to cancel an order and give us credit for a glass wall that was no longer needed. We are really enjoying the final results, and recognize that doing all three bathrooms at once was a bit excessive.

This was a bathroom remodel and they provided everything, from design through completion, including plumbing, painting, carpentry, tile installation, and the result is beautiful. They are wholly reliable and trustworthy, people you feel safe having in your home if you aren't there. It could not have been a better experience and we will definitely be using them again.

Description of Work: I believe it was approximately 3 years ago that the McClurg team worked on our main bath. They did an outstanding job and we would most certainly use them again.

Description of Work: Quoted us $5,000 to repair our front steps. Highest quote by double. They recommended much more work than the other 3 quotes and we ended up choosing another mason who charged us $1600 and we are totally satisfied, work done well and it looks great

You may find less expensive companies to do the job but we have always been pleased with the excellent quality of their work and professionalism. They have the key to our house and trust all of the team. Highly recommend.

Description of Work: I've worked with Mr. McClurg and associates several times over the past 15 years, most recently when they converted two wood-burning fireplaces to gas. They are and continue to be the most professional team that has ever worked on my home. I've had the opportunity to meet several members of the McClurg team and each one is as talented and professional as the last. The quality of the work is unmatched!

Description of Work: Hello, I needed a new door bell installed, the old one was from 1957, and finally went haywire.Mcclurg sent me a electrican, ,he intstalled in about 25 minutes. He was a good, and very understanding person.

Description of Work: I contacted McClurg for an estimate to do some work at my home. The estimate was so ridiculously high that I hired another person to do the same work. The McClurg people were very professional, knowledgable and curtious. I would consider contacting them agin and give them another try.

Description of Work: for built in entertainment system in family room. I needed to call to receive a verbal quote of over $8000. I ended up hiring a carpenter to custom build the entertainment system (shelves on both sides of fireplace to ceiling as well as a mantle. we have a gas fireplace on the bottom and flatscreen on top. It looks great. I feel they were overpriced for the product.

Description of Work: I used McClurg's small repair services to fix several small problems in my house (install a fan, fix a leaky faucet, replace a screen door, etc). They were professional and the quality of work was good. They charged $70/hour, which is more than a standard handyman, but I was comfortable that I was going to get quality work.

Description of Work: Although I've read many excellent reviews on this company, they were more than double the highest estimate we got. From what I have read the quality of their work is excellent but I couldn't justify double. We went with the next lower bid and because we were paying cash, work commenced immediately.
