I'm afraid to write such a positive review because it might sound fake, but I have to say that it was a pleasure to work with him. 1) The exterior paint looks GREAT! My neighbors were thrilled to see the upgrade, and even when you look up close, you can see that the surface was well prepped before paint was applied. 2) The rotten beams - there were many - were cut and new pressure treated lumber was put in (this was before the paint, obviously). You can't tell where the old and new wood is - it's very smooth 3) he actually jacked up the porch and part of the basement (there are foundation issues). The porch now is totally even. In the basement, he charged me only about $400 to do triage - the stone foundation is sliding and there are gaps that weren't there 6 months earlier. We couldn't do the full work until spring, but he did what seemed like a lot of work to stabilize it at a very reasonable price. 4) The chimney was great. The guy on his team used to work commercial smokestacks. I had other people tell me it'd be 2-3k to fix and take a week. They charged 1500 for the chimney and it was done in 2 days. 3 months out, and snow already, and there are no leaks or issues. His team is a group of friends + his brother. All middle aged guys, no kids and no subcontractors. He doesn't have a website and isn't good with email, which is why I feel compelled to share his info. I'm a landlord and was only there at the beginning and end of the project. He sent pics everyday and kept me in the loop. You won't regret working with Corey. There is little that he can't do (externally anyway, I didn't have him inside doing work).
Description of Work: After roof and drainage issues, my old house had a LOT of rotten wood siding. The deck was also sagging, and the chimney was structurally unsound. I originally hired him just to do the siding and do exterior paint, but he is a carpenter by trade and has a mason on his team. They re-did the front porch completely (put support beams in, poured concrete, etc and also installed all new decking). They also jigsaw cut some decorative railing to match the exisitng (and replace the rotten railing). He also did 4 colors on a Victorian house with medium-intricacy of detail. Finally, his team member put wire supports into the chimney and completely masoned it.
