Description of Work: The Gist: I had them inspect and repair a leak in my skylight. The work was quick and effective. It's been about a month or so, now, with several rainfalls that I'm sure would have leaked prior to the work, and I haven't noticed a drop since. | |--- | |Additional "Pro" Notes: Respectful language and actions were used (took shoes off at the door, etc.). They called ahead when they were running a little late, which was appreciated. | |Additional "Con" Notes: A few minor annoyances (which may be Angies list more than the contractor) leading up to the work, but the work itself was good! The minor annoyances I attributed to whatever view the contractor and employees have into the Angies list coupon that I used and what it entailed. | |The impression I got was that they were a bit inundated with purchases of the coupon and could not efficiently keep up with the workload. Additionally, the coupon description was very vague, and I actually thought they would be doing more inspection of the entire roof along with some minor repairs or treatments where needed, along with any professional recommendations. Instead what happened was they simply looked at the skylight upon my request and fixed the opening in the tar that had been in there, and that was it. This does NOT mean I was dissatisfied, as that is exactly what my intention was. It just means more clear communication may be in order (myself, included). And, I will be wary of vague Angies coupons from this point forward, now that I realize Angies list appears to make them up and contracts can choose be a part of them, or not (again, impression I get, I'm not positive if it works in that manner, but that's the feel I got from these interactions). The other thing that confused me was that I had to provide my phone number a couple times, which made me wonder if the contractor was not getting portions of my correspondence or profile through the Angies list messaging/invoicing system. | |So, in general, yes, I would consider using them, again, but would take the lessons learned in communication into account going into it. | |And, personally, would like to see the work-to-be-done better laid out and detailed within the Angies list invoice. I also did not like being charged, immediately -- ahead of any work taking place; that gave me a rather uneasy feeling. Again, and Angies list defect (IMO), I think.
