2 years ago I wrote a glowing positive review for this business, after a great experience on a $7500 installation of a new A/V system, having dealt with a very knowledgeable and professional salesman named Rich. However, 2 years later I called (more than once) to have someone come out to my house and take a look because the universal remote, which I bought from them and they installed, is not working. two weeks have passed, I am still waiting for a phone call for someone to "schedule it". this is not good customer service. what a shame, because I thought this was going to be a long-term relationship

They helped me find the best amplifier around! I took in my previous amp (it was nearly a year old), they traded in this amp and gave me a great deal on a new Mcintosh amp. Very outstanding place! I would highly recommend this company! Ask for Stu!

After reading this, you will think a) Bruce Curtis is a relative, b) I'm a shill, or c) Bruce provides a remarkable and dependable service at a fair price. If you chose c, you'd be right. Bruce guided me to tailor a system that will meet our needs in the context of my finances. He never tried to push me into any choice. However, he provided expert advice. That he's Long Island based concerned me (in that we're in Manhattan). It's been absolutely no problem. The wonderfully effective and pleasant workers did the job with celerity and with sensitivity. I let them all know that I'm something of a Luddite, and they did their best to make me feel comfortable. One glitch was that the turntable didn't work. I didn't hear its dysfunction. One of the workers did. Immediately, he informed Bruce. The replacement is being brought over tomorrow. When I've needed help, Bruce has been very forthcoming. I know that if I need anything, he'll be all over my request. Although we all need to make a living, I believe that Bruce is in business for something more: he clearly enjoys providing premium sound systems that are geared to enrich his customers' lives. We've recently moved and did a major renovation. As a result, we've dealt with many service providers. Of them all, Audio Breakers has BY FAR outstripped them all in providing the contracted service.

Bruce criticized the competition and claimed he has no competitor. He was rude, callous and disrespectful. His colleague Rich was respectful and thorough. I was told about a Samsung tv and the proposal listed a Sony for $1,000 more. Don't waste your time.

the entire team at Audio Breakthroughs was very easy to work with. They are very professional and they are experts in their field, both the salesmen and the installation crews. they made multiple visits to my house and always arrived on time. this equipment was very neatly installed in a custom built cabinet around my fireplace. they listened to what we wanted to accomplish throughout the entire house and recommended the perfect equipment given our needs/wishes and layout of the space. and the installation was top notch. in the end i spent more than initially planned to, but the final product is worth it to me. the quality of my system is awesome and my entire family loves using each and every day.

This was the second time in 2 years that we hired Audio Breakthroughs, and as the first time, their work was excellent. Spencer Clark met with us in the apartment for a walk through to discuss our needs and ideas. He followed up with a proposal, which we accepted. The wiring was scheduled first. Before the work began on the first day, Spencer came to the apartment to review the plans with his technicians. The wiring job took a day longer than expected, however, they were able to accommodate us and schedule that extra day during same week. The technicians returned a month later, just before we were scheduled to move in, to hang the TV's and setup the system. AND... later that same month, Spencer sent a technician to our apartment to make certain that the TV's were setup properly, that we knew how to operate the TV's, and to setup the Sonos system. We highly recommend Audio Breakthroughs for their terrific work, attention to detail, professionalism, and excellent customer service.

Most recently Sean and his partner came and hung a 64" plasma TV on my wall, installed 2 Artison speakers on each side of the TV, installed 2 rear ceiling speakers, and ran all the wiring behind the wall down into my basement out of sight. Their hardware pricing is more than fair and their service and professionalism is outstanding. No job is too big or too small, and no question is too complicated or too simple. Spencer and Bruce are great and all the field technicians are equally brilliant. I will never buy any home theater component any place else.

Technician was friendly, professional, and informative; supplying information in response to my questions and customizing the programming per my particular needs. A good experience overall. I will use these guys again in the future.

Audio Breakthroughs sent two professionals who took about 6 hours for the job, not to mention Jeff who came by to program the remote. I was happy with the competence of the crew, though my suggestion is for them to up the quality of their professional demeanor. The good part was that they did get the system running by the end of the day, and walked through its operation with me. The "not so good" part was that the system had some problems over the next few months, but Audio Breakthroughs was very responsive in fixing them. Some issues I had are as follows (please note that these are not Audio Breakthroughs fault): In running wires in my entertainment area the servicemen left two large holes in the wall that I had to later fix (due to studs in the wall), and get the entire wall repainted. As time passed (3 months now) the system the audio wires got interchanged and the universal remote cable got cut during carpet installation. Tangled mess of wires behind the shelf due to carpeting, painting and other work we had in the room. Overall -- my advice is the following: - Definitely talk to Audio Breakthrough for a formal estimate. They are a vendor definitely worth considering and IMHO worth hiring for the job. They may not be the cheapest, but they will be there to fix problems that will inevitably arise. - Your A/V system will be subject to changes over time due to other servicemen going through as well as wear and tear or failures. Make sure that all wires are well labeled, that the there is enough slack for you to move the speakers/cabinets and that you are reasonably acquainted with putting the system back together. Ideally, budget for this in your initial estimate. - If you have a problem, please reach out to Spencer. He is very responsive and will fix your problem.

Things went well. The two systems that they installed (audio/video) work well. The technicians who performed the work were always knowledgeable, courteous, and fairly prompt in appearing.

They are very responsive and professional. They are high end, but their prices are competitive.
