Spoke with Brian in detail regarding damage to our slate roof, corrugated roof, and aluminum and wooden gutters. Made an appointment for a Saturday am. He was on time and very professional. After viewing damages inside, got out his ladder and got on the roof (without us asking) and removed some tiles that were hanging and put in a piece of tar paper in a place where tiles were missing WITHOUT US ASKING. He spent at least an hour inspecting every inch of our roof and remaining gutters. He was honest with regard to the corrugated roofing work, and stated he was not comfortable tackling that project. As for the wooden gutter, he explained how they are built into the roof line, how they are generally lined, and how they generally fail. There are very few roofers or contractors who have actually ever worked on one of these. Many say they do, but, they do not have the knowledge. Due to the fact that much of the gutter in inaccessible due to a lower structure that can not be walked upon, he stated he was unable to give us a complete assessment of its condition and what it may require. I showed him a number of tiles we had found in the yard left by prior owner and all the snow stops I had collected from the ground. Brian looked everything over and said he could re-use all the tiles and snow stops so we could save on material costs. A roofer we had worked with last year, was here the week before, after we had to argue with the firm to arrange for a rep to get on the roof to inspect the extent of damage. The rep neither removed the hanging tiles nor offered to do anything to prevent further leaking into the house, and he was supposed to be one of their foremen. When I had shown the Forman the tiles and snow stops, he said I should throw them out, they were unusable. We are awaiting the estimate from Brian and are looking forward to working with him.

THE ROOF HAD NEVER BEEN REPLACED. IT WAS TEN YEARS SINCE I MOVED IN AND THE HOME WAS TWENTY THREE YEARS OLD. THIS COMPANY CONVINCED ME THAT IT WOULD BE WORTH IT IN THE LONG RUN.
