My trees look great. There was a detailed discussion beforehand where we agreed on the scope of work.
The estimate was accurate.
Connecting w/ arborist took a bit of persistence but the main office was helpful in facilitating.
Plan to use them again.

I responded to a Big Deals offer for tree services. I've used Big Deals in the past and was provided the service for the price of the deal. And it's always been as advertised, (i.e. a certain fee for a number of hours, work, etc. for that deal/price). However, with Sav-a-Tree, the Big Deal was used more as a lead generator and nothing more. The Big Deal that I purchased would simply be used towards the job; which turns out was $800 more than I was expecting. Steve came out and gave me an estimate; again, not at all the experience of Big Deal offers. Although he had a team ready to begin the work, I was not ready to spend the amount of money that was quoted. He did follow-up to see if I wanted to begin the work, and although I was delayed in replying back, when I did reply back asking for a refund for the Big Deal, there was no response. Several weeks later and I received a call from his office asking if I still wanted the work to be done. So, it's possible he never received my email.
My lesson and caution is to ensure the Big Deal is exactly that and not being used as a lead generator.

The work went great.

The work was very good. There were some additional charges other than the deal. They were professional and very nice. John, who they sent as an arborist, was very nice. The two guys that they also sent were very courteous and nice. I was skeptical on using Angie's List because I've heard people say things. I'm cautious and only have people work on the outside of my house and not in. I'm very careful when it comes to someone working inside of my house, but they were very good and I would use John again. They responded in every way. They called me when he first came out and I didn't make the appointment. They were very fast and kept calling to see, so they were very responsive.

SavAtree came very quickly to remove the tree but did not let me know in advance when they were coming. The price was a bit high. But they found the problem immediately and took care of it. It was done very professionally, with no debris left.

Estimator (Mark) came on time was professional and pleasant.   Arranged the work around MY schedule.  Guys came on time, worked quickly and efficiently.  Excellent attitude from all - from first call to finish.

Steve and his team from SavATree performed the recommended work. They arrived on time, were efficient and cleaned up all debris. Trees and shrubs were pruned as prescribed. I am very pleased with the work that was done.

I purchased a deal for $149.00 worth of $300 tree service but they stated that the minimum service was $900.  The lady in the ofice told her they needed to come out to see the extent of the work.  He called to ask if he could come early.  I didn't need that much work at this time.

I was totally satisfied.  The cleanup was excellent.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It went very well. I paid an additional amount for the service.

Tara from SAVA followed up twice by phone after we got the estimate.  All interactions with SAVA were extremely pleasant and professional.  Unfortunately the quote we got from SAVA was 25% more than the next quote in line (we got 4 quotes in all, and SAVA's was the second highest), so we ended up going with a different company which had the second lowest quote.  But, given the overall positive experience I had, I would definitely consider using SAVA down the line and will call them next time for at least an estimate if we need more tree-related work.

Michael Sitaras was a pleasure to work with.  He provided abundant information about the foilage around my house and was very clear in his recommendations and why they were important.  Work was done promptly. 

Gave an estimate and returned a few weeks alter with the crew.

Even though they had mountains of work, Michael was very prompt and professional with an estimate and responsive and flexible about scheduling the work. His crew was very polite and, aside from the chain saws, they were so quiet that I had to keep checking that they were still here. Hard work in a tight space, and they did it very well. Their cleanup was so thorough that they took branches that had fallen during the storm in addition to what they had cut--and they even put my bird-feeders back up! This is a very conscientious professional company, and I'll be glad to have them return.

The job went okay--for them as they managed to up-sell me for thousands of dollars. I got bill that was much, much higher than i anticipated and to make matters worse, they made me feel like a cheapskate for not wanting to do more work that they recommended. This is the first of several reviews that I intend to write about Save-A-Tree, or as I like to refer to them--save-a-tree/break-the-bank. As an aside, be forewarned that any dealings you have with their office will be frustrating as the interactions I had felt like I was in 3rd grade and in the principals office. At first I thought it was me--but then I realized that its them. I don't think hey respect their customers and instead, view them as whales or marks to up charge and take advantage of. Another recent interaction with them came in thousands more than anticipated. All I can say is if money isn't a factor at all for you, and if you enjoy mild humiliation and abuse, this is the contractor you must use.
