Mr Chimney

The job went very smoothly. The workers were very polite and had no issues. They had all of the tools and skills to do a top quality installation. I would not hesitate to use them again or recommend them to a family member in need of their services.

It went fine and it was good. The main thing is they are willing to do the job has lot of places didn't want to do outside asbestos work as it wasn't indoor. He was reliable and he showed up when he said he would be there. He did a good job cleaning up. I would use them again in the future.

I had ordered a pellet stove through Mr Chimney. Kate had scheduled my install for 11/19 at 10am. She called me that morning to let me know Claudio was on his way to my house and would be there at 10 if not a few min. earlier. Sure enough at 10 am Claudio was pulling in my driveway. He and his crew got right to work and in an hour and a half they were done. My stove was installed, the pipes were sealed and I was ready to drop a bag of pellets in it. Both Kate and Claudio did a great job representing their company! Will use again and will recommend to everyone!

I would not recommend Mr Chimney of Mamaroneck because I was told they had the only solution to the problem and that was not true---and they obviously jacked up the price when they saw where I lived. The man from Mr Chimney who came to the house was rather cocky and didn't explain that he was planning to fabricate a whole new piece to go from the bottom of the fireplace to the bottom of the flu. There was a 3-4 foot difference and the inside was just cinder blocks and not fire bricks, so it had to be addressed. His quote seemed very high although I don't doubt he was fabricating many pieces. I asked if this was the only solution and he said yes. Then he gave me the website for me to choose the doors I liked and quoted !,800.00 for the doors and installation. When I spoke to the door people the total cost for the door I choose was about 1,000 and I asked what normal installation should run. He said 200.00 to 300.00 So I emailed the Mr Chimney and gave him the numbers and asked that we split the difference making my cost 1,500.00. I got a rather rude note back explaining to me how he has expenses of rent, publicity, gas, and the such and that he was sticking with his quote. The tenor of the letter was very rude. Needless to say I hired someone else who used a fireproof material which covered the cinder blocks for less than half of his quote for fabricating the pieces.

The representative/technician was very thorough, explained everything to me in layman's terms and treated me with integrity and respect.

They removed an unnecessary liner that I was fell victim to from a previous chimney company which I am glad is no longer on Angies List and is on BBB for bad service and scamming people. But Mr. Chimney was a silver lining very professional they solved my draft issue that was caused from the previous company which was removing the liner which I didn't need and it was also installed incorrectly if I did need it. Don't look anywhere else I would recommend Mr. Chimney if you want professional results, and exceptional service. Howie knew the issue from a phone call and it was resolved in a professional manner.

Company responded to my request promptly. I felt original salesperson assessed the problem and gave me options and different costs with no pressure. There has been no further leaking since work was done

They were responsive. However, he never looked down chimney. Cap was never removed to actually look inside chimney. Caps had to be replaced when job was actually done. Replacing caps were not in estimate. He never told me that the vent pipe to my hot water heater was not connected. He estimated between 5 plus hours for jack hammering wall opening to fix. His quote was not thorough to what actually I needed. He was personable, pleasant, but his estimate was not really going to cover the total job that I got done for less money. Price was a bit high. Job actually took only 2 hours from start to end. Small hole had to be made. No one ripped down the wall with jack hammers.

Two technicians showed up on time and worked efficiently until the job was completed. They told me they had additional jobs later in the day but did not seem to rushing through my job or working sloppily. They set up plastic sheeting in the basement to confine dust and debris to their work area. After the job was completed they cleaned the work area completely. Since the installation is hidden inside the chimney, I have to assume that it was installed properly. It appears to be functioning well. The visible connections in the basement are neat and well done. Note: Although I asked for the senior discount of 10% which is advertised on Angie's List, my request was denied. I was given a lesser discount instead.

They scheduled it promptly, came and did the job very quickly and carefully. The problem was resolved- very professionally.

I recently purchased a home and the home inspector told me I should have the chimney checked out by a chimney professional. I would always see Mr. Chimney trucks around the area so I decided to give them a call. The office set me up with an appointment for the following week. They gave me a three hour window, which they arrived during that time. They inspected the chimney and told me there were gaps in the lining and even showed me a picture of what it looked like at the top. The chimney did not have a cap or flashing so they gave me a price to do all the work. I gave them a deposit and they came out two days later. Two guys were here for about five hours. The did an excellent job. They were very courteous and clean. I am very happy with the work.

I guess my chimney wasn't very dirty. They were done in 10 minutes. I don't have anything to compare it to since I have never had a chimney cleaned before. They put something up there that was supposed to release the soot and they vacuumed up everything in the fireplace. I felt that for ten minutes the charge was high but, again I have no idea if it was done right or not. They were prompt and polite and friendly but it didn't seem to me that they did much of anything but I really don't know what getting a chimney cleaned should be. |

They came on time. The were quick, efficient and incredibly neat. And there was no attempt to provide unnecessary parts or services. Would use them again and highly recommend them.

The chemical cleaning requires two visits. They missed the first appointment entirely and the office offered various stories as to why, among them that I had the day wrong. Eventually they did come on the second appointment to begin the job. The follow up was also done within the promised appointment window although this was now the 3rd time I needed to arrange to be at the house rather than the expected 2.. However when I inspected the chimney I saw the glossy creosote in some areas still,.It was this creosote in much of the chimney that the firm's owner had stressed on first inspection was a fire risk. I asked the firm to come back to verify that the job had been done thoroughly which they did, saying that what remained was staining despite its similarity to the 3rd degree creosote they found in the initial inspection. Chimney cap was installed and done well. I think the screw ups that I had with this company may not be normal but I can only relate my experience and it was overall not very good.

They were thorough and did a wonderful job. They did advised there was no work that needed to be done.

I called in to get the service and the woman picked up the phone having very terrible customer service attitude, and she became very impatient after few questions. Her voice was raised and it is almost like yelling to me. I booked the service and she said "if we want to cancel it, we will call you"... uah... So I called back to cancel it, and she said "That is great!". What a shame out there. No matter what they can clean/sweep, I won't use them again. I called another provider and things back to normal. What a waste of time.

We hried Mr. Chimney to come out and perform an asbestos check on our new home. He came out did a visual inspection did not discover any asbestos. He was very pleaseant, very knowledgeable, and he was very professional. He did not perform any work on this visit but if we ever need any asbestos removal we would hire him in the future.

I would recommend Mr. Chimney for sure! When I got my quote, the serviceman was quick and very punctual calling to tell me when he'd be there. He was quick to the estimate, took time to look at and address my other concerns, and didn't try to up-sell me on products I didn't want/need immediately. Was even able to setup the appointment for the next morning immediately. The install of the equipment was awesome! Two friendly men showed up right on time, carefully moved any furniture out of the way, and laid out layers and layers of plastic to protect and keep everything clean. Throughout the whole process they kept a vacuum and brush nearby to sweep any and all dust and debris away carefully. When work was done, they promptly cleaned up, moved furniture back, and were gone. Very professional, friendly, quick and clean.

Originally, I hired the company to sweep the chimney and was quoted $129.00. Phil McCracken came over twice because i totally forgot the first appointment. He was very nice about that. When examining the chimney, he discovered that the smoke chamber was not sealed. He showed me what he was talking about and said that it was a fire hazard. I felt confident that it was important from what he showed me and because the chimney had not been properly serviced for years. Work was done promptly and everything was cleaned up. The worker who showed up explained again exactly what they were doing.

On time, clean, very professional.

It was good. They were good. The price was reasonable. They showed up when expected. They did a nice job. It seemed like they knew what they were talking about. I would give them top marks across the board.

Overall they provided an excellent service.

It went well. I also wanted to add that I asked for an unrelated "favor" since they were already up on the roof. I needed something nailed down for me, and they did it without any extra compensation or fuss. it was beyond the scope of their work, but they were very helpul.
