Description of Work: They took care of two issues for us. The inside one (resealing the smoke chamber) was far more involved, We hired them initially to clean our flues. But when he came, Ken Barker identified an extrmely unsafe condition right away (subsequently confirmed by others). The repair included removing/replacing damper, and top row of bricks, in order to access the smoke chamber for resealing. They did a fine job, on time, neat and seems to be high quality. Of the three companies we spoke with only Mr Chimney said they could seal the smoke chamber without totally ripping out the wall/mantel, a huge plus. When, a couple weeks later, we contacted them with some questions about smoke inside the house, one of their men came over right away and instructed us on how to take care of this, no charge. They also did repairs on the outside of our chimney, including replacing a few rows of bricks and rebuilding the crown.

Description of Work: Needed an additional flue cap installed to prevent downdraft from one fireplace to the next in the same chimney.

Description of Work: Needed to have my clay/ceramic liner replaced inside the chimney. They quoted price to replace liner with heavy gauge stainless steel liner and put rain cap on top of chimney.

Description of Work: We did not use Mr. Chimney because we have not had the work done yet. However, the gentleman who came out to give us an estimate (to have the chimney bricked and a new crown put on) was very professional. He spent a good bit of time inspecting the chimney and even removed a big root that was growing out of the chimney since he was up by the crown anyway (he did not charge for that service). They gave us an estimate right away. I was even very happy with the people who worked in the office. They were polite and professional and scheduled our estimate in a timely manner.

Description of Work: I had a leak in my basement from the chimney. They fixed the chimney and installed a new chimney cap to stop the leak.

Description of Work: I was told by my furnace company that I had a CO (carbon) leak and that I would probably need a new furnace. Upon further investication the Furnace Co. told me that my chimney was deteriating and that it was clogged. I called mr Chiney and they immediatly came and inspected the chimney. It was cleared and they said I needed a chimney cap to avoid any further damage from rain seeping into the flue. they istalled the cap that same day and I don't have to replace my furnace. at least for now. Mr. Chimney was honest in its approach of the solution and I would use them in the future.

Description of Work: Mr Chimney came to my house for an inspection and fireplace cleaning. I had the chimney cleaned and some unexpected asbestos removed from my boiler room.

Description of Work: Back in July, I contacted Mr. Chimney to install a Chimney liner and stucco the exterior. They were prompt and professional. They showed up when they said they would. We hit an unforeseen situation, when the attempted to work on the Chimney. It turned out that the Electical Utility lines were exposed and less than 12 inches from my chimney. This created a hazardous condition, which haulted the work, understandably so. I had to contact the Utility comany for resolution. Howevever, the contractor agreed to install the liner because they were able to access the top of the chimney from the other side of the roof. I had a signed contract with them to complete the job, but couln't finish until I resolved the dangerous condition. If has taken me more than 6 months to finally get the issue resolved and the contractor was very patient and understanding. He would contact me periodically to see if I make any progress. Needless to say that in January, just a few days after the matter was resolved, Ken called and we proceeded with the work. The Chimney was finally finished and he patiently waited for payment. Most other contractors would have demanded payment, but not this company. Now my chimney looks great and should stand for another 70 years! Thanks Mr. Chimney!!

Description of Work: Mr. Chimney came by and removed and old flue and installed a new one after they cleaned the chimney. The fireplace that was smoking a bit seems to be working much better now. The price seemed reasonable though I am not sure how much something like this would normally cost.

Description of Work: They removed asbestos from my parents' house around their boiler and boiler pipes.

I needed a cap for my chimnies and a cleaning of my fireplace chimney. I made the appointment and they gave me a four hour window in which they showed up on time for. The technician left the estimate with my wife with his cell number on it. I had a few questions the next day which he answered and I decided to have the work done. I called the office and scheduled the work and the two men arrived, on time as scheduled, and made a custom piece to the exact size of my chimney opening. The material was copper and the piece looked professionally done when complete. I checked the installation myself and it looks great. Very satisfied.

Description of Work: Scaffold around chimney was erected. Inner liner placed in chimney from basement to top. Brickwork on chimney repaired. Chimney cleaned. Chimney cap installed.

Description of Work: Mr Chimney put in a new pipe for the wood-burning stove that we have. They put the pipes through the chimney because the ones we had weren't working since they weren't installed properly.

Description of Work: old cement was ground out. Bricks were repointed, the cement crown was rebuilt. The chimney was waterproofed and flashing was sealed

Description of Work: Mr Chimney arrived on time, two men, one worker,one supervisior, they were professional, howerer the chimney equipment looked very worn, especially the brushes. From Start to to finish 15 minutes, from the time they pulled into my driveway to the time they pulled out. I think I got the special deal. I will most likely choose another company next fall.
