Westchester Automated Gate

I moved to Ridgefield, CT and had a automated gate at the new house. I saw the previous owners had used this company in the past so I decided to give them a try. I signed up for their "maintenance" special with included a automated gate "tune up". Even though the gate was working fine I thought a "tune up" sounded like a good idea to forego future problems. Their technician showed up, did his work and left. Two days following that visit the gate started to have problems. The gate would not accept commands from the house, one side of the gate would not open and when the weather got colder the gate would not work at all. I asked the company to return. When speaking to the company the receptionist kept trying to speak over me when I tried to relay the problems I was having. I asked them once again to return to fix the gate. They informed me that the gate needed a new $2500 motor to repair the gate, which I found strange since the gate motor was running, it was simply not opening the gate. As a prudent consumer I had another gate company out to examine the gate. The other company found out the motor was fine and the distance the gate had to travel was excessive and the motor was "bottoming out". With some minor adjustments the technician was able to repair the gate without replacing the gate motor (saving me $2500). I would avoid this company; they are either incompetent or dishonest.
