We had contacted a couple of other companies to remove and replace our oil tank but when it came time to do the job only Dutchess followed-through on all communications and did so in a professional manner. They were faced with a difficult task since our home was built in the late 1800s, has narrow stairs and a low ceiling in our unfinished basement. On top of that, we asked that they work around a stone mason who was hired to repoint the basement (including the area behind the oil tank) on the very same day. Dutchess worked quickly and cleanly. At one point there were 5 men from both companies working in a tight space with minimal ventilation, and yet everything was done to perfection. They took great care in adjusting the tank and lines for optimal functionality and appearance. We would hire them again and highly recommend them to others needing oil tank replacement.

As part of the sale of my 120 year old home, I was required to have my oil tank removed, as the buyer will be converting to gas heat. The huge tank had been put into a small area of my side yard (probably in the 1930s), wedged between the foundation of my home and the sewer line, with a clay drain pipe running over it. In less than a day, Dutchess dug up the tank in mid-February, had the tank cleaned and drained, removed the tank on another truck, installed a temporary oil tank, hooked it up to the existing oil lines, transferred most of the oil that remained from my old tank to the temporary one, and filled the hole with over a truckload of soil. They removed and then reassembled the unexpected drain pipe at no extra cost. Because of the tank's close proximity to the foundation and the sewer line, they had to carefully use their backhoe and skillfully maneuver and lift the tank out. The expertise and professionalism demonstrated by Lou and Keith in doing this was impressive. Additionally, the office coordinator, Patti, was extremely helpful and responsive to my calls. Because of our approaching closing, she helped make sure the paperwork associated with the soil testing was sent to me as quickly as possible. Truly a terrific team.

These are pros. They are a very courteous and professional company that communicates well, responds to all calls and inquiries promptly, and do what they are hired to do quickly and neatly. They provided me with an estimate that included all costs for closing the existing tank and repaving the concrete removed to access the tank. The permits were obtained, the work was scheduled, the workers showed up on time, and the building inspector was called in to inspect the finished work. Easy peasy! I could not ask for better service and their price included repaving where others did not. One company wanted an additional $800 to pave over a 2ft. x 4ft. section of concrete 4and quot; thick; ridiculous. Their office staff is great too and responds to any questions and issues right away. I will not likely need their services again for oil tank work, but I highly recommend their services for anyone who does.
Description of Work: They decommissioned an underground 550 gallon oil tank buried beneath my garage floor. They installed a freestanding 275 gallon tank in my basement with fill and vent pipes to the outside, and reconnected oil line to my existing oil burner.

A Swat team descended on my house right on time at 8:30. They brought many pieces of equipment from a backhoe to a bobcat to a special oil vacuum truck. The crew did not even stop for lunch finishing around 3pm. They did not spill one drop. The tanks were vacuumed cleaned and then someone donned a disposable hazmat suit and went into the tank to clean it before it was hoisted out, eliminating any possibility of leak due to the removal. They even hand raked the tractor tracks in my dirt driveway. Price was 2,000 less then my local oil supplier. I could not be more pleased.
Description of Work: I had two buried tanks removed and two new ones installed inside my home. I had a 1,000 gallon 35 year old oil tank and a 550 gallon gasoline tank buried in my yard.I installed two 330 gallon oil tanks.
