I recently renovated the first floor of my home which included a complete redesign of the existing floor plan; the kitchen, downstairs bathroom, dining room, and den, and the living room. This project involved some major structural changes to the house such as recessing the main header into the 1st floor ceiling, floor reinforcement, and reinforcement of the extension wall that ties into the original house. After obtaining numerous quotes and meeting with various contractors, we decided to go with RAK Contracting, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. Bob guided us through the entire process with the utmost professionalism, from obtaining architectural drawings and permits to the design ideas and finishes. The same can be said for his entire crew, who are highly-skilled and meticulous. When problems and surprises arose, as they always do during a major renovation to a nearly 100 y/o house, the solution(s) were always presented in a clear and straightforward way so we could make an informed decision on the best way to proceed. We had vision for our home when we moved in 7 years ago that we slowly and painstakingly developed and refined. RAK contracting helped us realize this vision. Thank you!

First word that comes to mind...QUALITY. Bob is a General Contractor who has a very trusting personality. You will immediately feel at ease when speaking to him. Compared to other Contractors, you shouldn't expect a sales pitch, or a bait and switch from Bob. He is upfront and honest with your job at hand; his price won't change unless your scope of the project does. His pricing was on par, as compared to other Contractors. His wife, Veronica runs the main office along with Lisa, and they were always pleasant to deal with. It is all family run, which is nice to see. Throughout my project, Bob didn't try to persuade me from any detail my wife and I chose...unless it was an opportunity to save a few bucks here and there. I appreciated that. His crew is top notch. They're all very likeable, trustable and do an excellent job; no detail is spared. Cris oversees the project, and he is EXCELLENT. During a part of the project, Cris had asked me if I preferred a detail to be done one way or another. I told him, whichever is easier for you guys. He replied, "No, don't worry about easier for us, worry about doing it the right way." What a way to demonstrate how you care for the job at hand. I had these guys work for months in my house while no one is home, and never had to worry about a thing. They became a part of the family while they were here. Doing a kitchen renovation is very stressful. It is time consuming and inconvenient. Having no running water on the main floor, with a 1 year old and a wife, pregnant with #2 on the way, life became stressful. It takes a special kind of personality to be a Contractor who is successful in dealing with various personal situations, and Bob has got the stuff it takes. For the job itself, the appearance and quality was amazing. Everything was build solid. Our friends and family are still in awe of the job they did. My wife couldn't be more proud of her home. Our kitchen is magnificent, and we spend many hours in both the kitchen and basement (aka Man Cave). I look forward to many years of holiday parties and other events for my family to enjoy. I highly recommend Bob Krendel for home renovations. Anyone is welcome to drop by and see the beautiful job they've done. I will be using him again for future projects.

They're great; top quality. He is high middle range pricing. They're people in our community, smart, responsible, and conscientious; I don't have any problems trusting anyone of them in my house alone.

Very professional. The owner, Bob Krendel, was constantly checking on his crew and the work. He had an excellent crew. No problem leaving the house and going to work. If any surprises arose with the renovation, Bob explained everything and all options. Any questions or concerns were promptly answered.

We were extremely happy with the work completed by Bob and his crew. The kitchen and bathroom well exceeded our expectations! We had our bathroom and kitchen gutted. Beams were placed in the kitchen for a wall that was removed. The studs were leveled. Sheetrock, cabinets, counters, tile, wood floors, windows and fixtures were installed in the kitchen. Cabinets, vanity top, fixtures, tile and a new bathtub was installed in the bathroom. His workers were always very polite, accommodating and CLEAN! Even though we had sealed off the work areas, they always made sure the areas were swept and neat when they left each day. It was a pleasure to work with Bob. He is very professional and always put us at ease during the normal stresses of remodeling. We were also very pleased with the sub-contractors he brought in for the plumbing and electrical as well as the referrals he gave us for cabinets, counters, etc. Everyone he referred us to was professional, honest, and local. The cost of the job was true to the original bid and worth every penny. The vaulted ceiling in the kitchen was a surprise add on which completely "made" the kitchen. Bob gave a us a very fair price for this. We will definitely be using RAK in the future!

Very professional but did not have time to help me with my job.

The workers are wonderful and everything is wonderful. It took longer than I anticipated but that doesn't all go on him because we live on the island and there were people with more need from Hurricane Sandy so we put it off until around Thanksgiving. There has been a long hiatus in pockets of time because I had a new grandchild born out of state and then my husband died three weeks ago. He never left me cold. He would finish a bathroom and I would tell him not to start the next one. The two bathrooms are finished and they are wonderful. They are finishing up the kitchen now. The workers are polite and on time. They clean up after themselves. I bought all the stuff myself and they tore out the old and put in the new. They are putting the backsplash up today so we are getting close to the end. They didn't have the lowest price; they were about the second or third. They were not that far from the bottom. I went with them because they were sort of local and he gave me a list of names of people where I could go and see their places. The most meaningful thing was that he has a team of workers working for him full time. I know when he says the electrician is coming, it is the electrician. I felt that was a safer way as opposed to different people coming all the time. The quality of the work is exceptional.

The work was superb. They did a kitchen renovation. The workers were polite and cleaned up daily. They were highly professional and skilled. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Their attention to detail and he showed up with all the details and specs. He did what he said he was going to do for the quote he gave us. I am planning to use him again.

They were reliable and did good work. The owner himself gave me the estimate and he had the right credentials.

Bob Krendell is a pleasure to work with, he keeps his word, his team shows up on time and when scheduled. The work performed is done in a very professional manner, they clean up daily and are respectful of the property. I am not easy to please and have to give him 5 stars when the work was completed. We were so pleased with his work that we had him do some additional work to the exterior foundation that needed attention, and we were very pleased with that as well.

They are fabulous. I have used them many times. Rob is an honorable man, who keeps his word. He is smart. He knows what he is doing. His workers are excellent. They do trustworthy and quality work. His price is not low. He tends to take longer than he says, but he does inform me beforehand. I will hire him again in the future.

Bob was extremely professional. He is a man of his word and followed through with every detail. The work was completed on time, if anything we may have slowed the job a bit. Bob always had crews working when he said and virtually everyday of the project. I am a believer of using local professionals and Bob proved my conviction correct!

Mr. Krendel kept in constant contact with me. He showed up on time, gave us daily updates, did not assume anything. He was responsive, respectful of our wishes, time and our home. We would HIGHLY recommend Robert Krendel and his staff as their work was professionally performed and the end result was outstanding. A pleasure to do business with. We actually hired him to perform additional work at our home based on our experience. He delivers what he promises!

Amazingly, this job took about 2 weeks! Unheard of in this kind of remodeling. Bob is totally responsive, stopping by frequently, always reachable by cellphone. His workmen were incredibly neat, always leaving their work area spotless. I would recommend Bob Krendel to anyone considering a remodeling job.

Krendel Contracting was great. We are very happy with our new bathroom. The quality of their work is wonderful. The workers were courteous, responsive, and very clean. They cleaned up everything so there was no mess for us to deal with. They came promptly and were very punctual.
