Description of Work: Replaced 40 gallon gas water heater with new high-end unit. The work was done expeditiously and very well. The job also involved replacing a vent with a larger one and installing a pressure tank. Their's was not the lowest bid, but I'm glad I ended up hiring them.

Description of Work: Professional- we had a back up in the basement and I called mako in the morning. They came that afternoon and fixed it perfectly. Showed me pictures and videos of the pipes draining. Very good plumbers. And a few days later they sent me a Christmas card! Great customer service.

Description of Work: They didn't seem to care to talk to me, maybe they have enough customers that it doesn't matter, and they doubled the price because of holiday which is not right. I wouldn't have them out because I couldn't pay that much money.

If I am willing to pay higher price, he does not want to spend time in giving an estimate. 2. The estimate is not free unless I sign a contract with them. I did not like the attitude and told him that do not waste your time coming to me.

Description of Work: I called Mako on Thursday, they called back on Friday and on Saturday Mako pumped out my crawlspace. There was 8" of water and they pumped out to 2". This was on Saturday, 11/2 and I saw the crawlspace the next day on Sunday. There was a little bit of communication mixup because I was expectiong no water, and there was 2"., but Mako adjusted price, followed up with me on Monday morning to see if I still needed help, and then called me Monday night to see how I made out pumping the crawlspace myself. It turns out that all the insulation that was in attached to crawl space was floating around thus preventing the crawl space to be emptied. After bagging 18 bags of insulation and then pumping out again, I was able to get all the water out of the crawl space. - with help of course. Mako went above and beyond what he had to do, and I would absolutely use them again - and probably will when electric is restored and I have to have sump pump installed!

Description of Work: I had several issues with my boiler that I wanted addressed before it really started to get cold. Enter "Mako Plumbing", I emailed them my problems that night and Robert called me first thing in the morning. He was very polite and friendly and we set a appointment for him to come out. Unfortunately he wasn't able to come at that time so someone called to apologize who was just as nice and stated the only reason he couldn't come was because of a flood in someones basement. Hey I understand that I'd want a emergency response also. A third person who was even nicer than the last two people I spoke to called a hour later and he gave me the time when someone would be out to look at my boiler and apologized for the incovenience. I met Robert and he quickly diagnosed my problems as being related to to much air in the line. He walked me through each step of what he was doing and how each part works. The most impressive thing was he taught me how to fix one of the more simpler problems myself. Who does that anymore?, and doesn't try to nickle and dime you for every little repair, but showed me how if it happens again what to do! Some might say the prices are a little costly. But let me ask you a question how much is a skilled, knowledgeable, friendly, and most importantly trained professional worth to you? You go ahead and get that homeboy hookup and see where you'll be afterwards.

Description of Work: My hot water heater was leaking for a very long time and in recent weeks it got alot worse. I looked on Craig's List to get a plumber and found three. I called two, one never called back and I had an appt. with one but they never showed up. I called Mako and left a voice message. I got a return call right away and they said they would send someone out that same day!! The plumber arrived early and told me I needed a new hot water heater (which I already knew). He said he could install one the very next morning!! I was very pleased with that. Yes the price was on the higher end and I could have just went to home depot and bought my own hot water heater and had someone put it in for cheap but with something big like a hot water heater I wanted it installed correctly by someone who was licensed and insured and who knew what they were doing. I didn't mind paying the cost bc of this. I don't want or need any future headaches. Overall Mako did an amazing job and they are very professional and I will definitely call them again when I need to.

Description of Work: I was very impressed with this company. They were very prompt. I called Monday evening and they got back to me tues morning at 8am. They were able to come within the hour. Jason was very professional. I appreciated that he wore a uniform and was very professional, and courteous. The job happened to be more than I originally thought, so the price was more than I had planned, but they worked with me., a little.I realize it was expensive, but it was alot of work. I would definately recommend Mako plumbing. Originally there was a leak in the pipe underneath the kitchen sink, but when Jason put it together. he found there was a clog in the pipes, which was hard to remove.

Description of Work: I had a problem with a blocked drain line, not so simple. Even after the first plumbers from another company came to do the work they did not know what the blockage was exactly caused by. After contacting a second plumber, they also were not sure what the project might require. After much wasted time and waiting for one of them to continue with the assessment and work, I decided to call Mako Plumbing as they were the top referral from Angie's list in my area. What a difference....I got a call the same afternoon and the crew form Mako was there the next morning as promised. They saw the need for a camera to look into the drain line and they had their person on site within the next hour or so. The camera immediately found the problem and the repair location was found and fixed. Was the repair expensive?...not really. If I had gone with the other companies I might have paid for alot of exploratory digging that would have been much more money. In short, Mako has the experience, they sent me their top notch crew ASAP, and the results came quickly. Sure, there are lots of companies out there and if you need something done that is easy and you have time on your side, great. If you have something more complicated or just want to have the best and fastest resolve....call Mako. Their courtesy, professionalism and quick response will win you over...like it did for me. I'm really glad I did my homework, and Angie's List made it easy for me. Thanks to both.

Description of Work: Called for diagnosis of leak, George was very helpful in narrowing down the possibilities. In addition we asked if he could snake some darins and change a shower hose. The charge per drain was over a hundred dollars, I've always paid 50 dollars per drain in past and felt this was steep (note that he originally said it was 150 per drain but was able to get us a deal. The purchase of and changing of the shower hose with a connector to lower the head was 275 dollars.

Description of Work: I looked on Angies list to get estimates for converting my house from oil to gas. Between 3 houses that I own this is my 3rd conversion and I have received about a dozen estimates among all 3 properities. MACO is the only only that wants to charge $125 for an estimate. There are plenty of other companies with great reviews that give free estimates. Not smart to jump over dollars to pick up pennies.
