I was so happy to have this company help me. I needed 2 drain pipes to be replaced in my kitchen & bathroom sinks, along with unclogging the drains under both sinks. I also needed a new basket in the kitchen sink & 2 new faucets & a spout for the bathroom tub. Rob came by & did all the work. He was polite, professional & did the work within a reasonable length of time. If you ever need a lot of work to be done, please ask for Rob. I am sure all the other plumbers within this company are excellent too but I was very impressed with Rob. Thank You, Maureen O.

TERRIFIC. Robert came in 2 weeks prior ro give an estimate. Arrived on time for the estimate, was complete and helpful in that process. Once we had pulled together all the elements for the project, we easily got an an appointment, and Robert again showed up on time. Removal and installation were quickly achieved and the final bill matched the estimate exactly.

my gas was shut off due to a leak. contractors had found the leak while doing a quality assurance tests. Mako was prompt and professional. When prodded to provide a price, they couldnt until they assessed the situation. When asked for a range of costs involved, again, they couldnt until they assessed the situation. A gas test was performed multiple times and again after some stop gap measures were in place, but in the end, Mako determined that the pipes had to be replaced due to the lack of compounding at the old joints, etc, which seem to indicate how old and how cumbersome trying to find and seal all the old joints would be. given the time and convenience factors, it would be best to replace all the gas piping. about $5000 later, the job was complete. Mako did replace all the valves and re-fitted the piping to my dryer to a better location. John, the repairman, was very straight forward as a plumber and a "salesman." He said the job might take 2 days. he said he would work his a** off and finish in one at all costs. .. and he did. when he broke the bad news about the costs, he seemed like he genuinely did not want to charge me that amount. (in fact, he stumbled upon and helped an elderly neighbor with a plumbing emergency once he finished my job.) I feel good about the professionalism and the service. I am ignorant of the pricing structure so i an unqualified to have an opinion there.

We were starting to remodel our home after 33 years. We removed walls and made our florida room into living space and were going to add two bathrooms & redo our existing bathroom & kitchen.We called 3 plumbers. Two wanted to add to our existing steam system which has always been a problem for heating the second floor.Mako came and informed us to go with a new boiler, hot water system and to replace our hot water tank with anindirect hot water tank, heated by the new boiler.Only one pilot light, instead of two. Mako cameand measured up the rooms & the amount of windows, they gave us an estimate of $28,000.00 to ripout the old boiler & water tank, install a new boiler & indirect tank. The new system took up only half of the space of my old one. They then ran in all the piping for baseboard heating to the second floor, main floor & basement. They installedhigh intensity baseboard in the Florida room & living room. They set up 4 zones in our house so we can heat any area independently. The Mako crew came on time daily and kept the place very clean. THey put cloth down on the walkways & areas where they were working. We are doing most of the other work ourself & we are living in the house. Mako installed the system last summer. We wanted to go thru the winter to make sure it workrd well. During the winter Mako called to see if we were happy with the system. We told them it was working great. W are planning to have them back to do the kitchen & bathroom plumbing.

Before Mako: The pipe for our kitchen sink was poorly "glued" and would completely disconnect. So, we had to put stand a brick upright under it to keep it in place. If the brick dislodged while water was running, there would be flooding in the cabinet. Awful! We learned of Mako Plumbing via Angie's List and called based on the reviews. The plumber, Adonis, arrived punctually; and was very professional, friendly and informative. He replaced the brass pipes with a secure PVC pipe. This process involved cutting and a smelly sealant. He was sensitive to the fact that we have a toddler and infant, and informed us in advance that there would be loud noise and an odor that would soon dissipate. He kept the workspace clean and orderly. He also gave us opinions and advice on other plumbing concerns with our bathrooms. Then today, 10 days later, we received a lovely 'Thank You' card from the company that included a handwritten message. The practice of 'professional service with a personal touch' is an endangered species, but this company is doing their part to preserve it. The price seemed a little steep (hence, the 'C' = 'Fair' rating), but we honestly didn't have another estimate to which we could compare. Still, if YOU need plumbing services, make it Mako!

FROM THE FRIST PHONE CALL THEY WERE VERY FRIENDLY,CALLED ON A MONDAY THEY WERE THERE 8AM TUESDAY ON TIME,VERY POLITE,FIXED MY DADS SHOWER BODY INSTEAD OF JUST REPLACING IT.THE WORKER EVEN WENT TO HIS TRUCK TO GET MY DAD A DISCOUNT COUPON.MY PARENTS ARE IN THIER 80'S GLAD TO SEE THERE A STILL HONEST PEOPLE OUT THERE.I WOULD CALL THEM AGAIN IN A HEARTBEAT FOR PLUMBLING WORK ON EITHER MY HOUSE OR ANYONE WHO NEEDS THEM.THANKS MAKO. They were professional and explained to me what had happened and what they would be doing to solve the problem. They were on time and cleaned up when they were finished. I would call them in the future.

We had a good experience with them. We paid $400 for the job, which was a little high. However, we didn?t make comparisons. They were prompt. They came out and the guy was really nice. However, we didn?t get an itemized bill. We should have asked for the same. We will hire them again in the future, if required.

I called the company at 8:30 am. By 9am I had a call back saying the repairman was on his way. He arrived shortly after and looked over all the work. John, the repairman, gave me an estimate and I told him to go ahead. He repaired the kitchen drain pipe, cleaned up very well and even offered to replace the items in the cabinet below the sink. He said he could do the toilet as well but it would be later in the afternoon and I had to go out so we made an appointment for the next morning. He came on time the next morning, replaced the broken toilet and carried the old one down to the garbage for us. He cleaned up everything very well in the bathroom. The whole process took about an hour and was done. He was very professional, friendly and helpful. I would use him again if I need a plumber and would recommend the company to others. There prices were in line with others and the service excellent,we even got a discount for finding them on Angie's List.

I woke up to rushing water sounds and discovered ankle to knee deep water flooding into our finished basement. We have never had problems with flooding before, and could not find out where the water was coming from, and how it was getting into our home. I opened Angie's List and started calling. We were coming off 4 days of really hard rain that apparently was causing problems in basements all over the tri-state area. Companies were booked solid - I could only schedule something weeks ahead and asked to be put on a wait list in case another consumer cancelled. I made 4 phone calls and had no luck trying to get someone out ASAP until I called MAKO. The angie's list ad promised a telephone consultation with the owner right away. The receptionist was collecting my info when she said she was going to put my on speaker phone, one of her technicians had just walked in. They listened to me describe the problem, and John said he would come right out and take a look. He arrived 20 minutes later. He performed a very thorough inspection and offered us a number of possible causes and solutions. He called his supervisor a couple of times while he was here, double checking the possible diagnoses and conferring with regard to possible solutions. The price ranges he explained started around $500 and went up to 10K, possibly more- The source of the water was impossible to determine, because the ground was (and still is) completely saturated.John was very patient and explained things several times. He never lost patience with us and drew diagrams to help explain what was happening. I feel like he provided us with amazing service, making several calls to the company's owner not only to check the information he was giving us, but with questions we had regarding possible causes and solutions.The trip fee was waived because we are Angie's List members, and he accepted a coupon off the Angie website. We scheduled a sump pump installation for the next morning at 7am. John explained what we could expect to happen as well as probable complications that could arise, even drawing little pictures for us.True to his word, John arrived on time the next moprning, with Andy, his assistant. (surprise! a plumber on time!) They worked very well together- they also worked really hard. The owner, Rich, dropped by two times during the day to check on the progress, and called to check in several times. This company definitely is proving to be a breath of fresh air in the service industry by providing a superior level of customer service and satisfaction without dollar signs clouding their vision.Their word and their handshake really is sincere.

I had an idea of which filter I had wanted installed, but I wanted to rely on Mako's expert advise. I was glad I did, and they confirmed what I had spent many weeks of research on. The water filter that was previously installed into my home was not big enough to do the job correctly. They suggested using a much larger unit, and gave me a price I thought was fair. They usually charge for an estimate, and will take that money off of the final price, however, it seems they wave the fee for Angie's list members. I also have a Tagaki TK-3 hot water heater, which they are certified techs on. I was so satisfied that I will use them for the maintainence of that unit when needed

It was what I don't get often enough in this area - knowledgeable prompt service. We had lost our heating during the recent storm because the low power condition affected the water auto-feed / shut-off mechanism to the boiler. Looking at the gauges it seemed to me the water had not only filled the boiler, but had gone into the steam pipes themselves. I left a phone message for the Mako folks as soon as the power came back. They came quickly, diagnosed the problem and within a little over an hour we had heat again- and an explanation of what had happened to boot.

I had a leak outside my bathroom door, a small area of the carpeting was wet. I called them and they said they were able to get someone here the same day. Someone else called within the hour to get a more detailed description of what the problem was, he told me they might not be able to detect the problem since the area was dry already. I decided to have them come check it out anyway. Two guys were here within the hour, very polite, explained everything they were doing. Turned out the shower door was leaking water, and off track. He caulked the door and adjusted the track. He also adjusted the hot water temperature on my kitchen sink. I was very pleased with the service and would definitely use them again. If you use them make sure you tell them you found them through Angies List, the guy said a few times they really appreciate the referrals they get from them!

We thought he was a little high on the price, but he indicated that they get a certain amount for the service call. He took care of what he wanted to take care of and we figured out that we probably could have done it ourselves, but we didn't know it at the time. It was a good experience. He was prompt and took care of the problem. It didn't evolve into anything else and I'm thinking about calling them regarding another issue with my oil burner.

Auto was very polite and let me know it wasn't the plumbing. It was a leak. He said it was from the flashing on the roof right over my front door.

I ENCOUNTERED THE PROBLEM BEFORE SO I KNEW EXACTLY WHAT WAS WRONG.I CALLED AND GOT A PRICE QUOTE OVER THE PHONE AND I REQUESTED THE SERVICE,THEY GAVE ME A TIME FOR THE SERVICE MAN TO SHOW UP AND HE CAME EXACTLY WHEN PROMISED.THE JOB WAS DONE IN A PROFESSIONAL MANNER AND COMPLETED QUICKLY AND WITHOUT ANY MESS OR NEED TO CLEAN UP.THE PRICE QUOTED WAS THE PRICE CHARGED.

I called them again for a faucet replacement and acouple of minor plumbing issues. They gave me an appointment the next day, they were on time, friendly and did the job for a great price. I will use them for any plumbing or heating problem in the future.

Explained job, handled unexpected problem (adding to bill), clean, offered to clean beyond what he initially did.

They were good, the came when they said they would. They cleaned up well. They were a little late but he called and told me that they were delayed. They were also the best priced of the three estimates I received.

I liked that Mako Plumbing seemed knowledgeable. They were clean and respectful of my house. I would get quotes from them, but I probably wouldn't use them in the future because of their price. They did good work, but I feel like they were unprofessional in their pricing. I don't trust him in regards to how they handle quotes.

Their pricing was fair and right on line with everyone else. They were quick, but a little messy. Overall the work was fine.

We are very satified with the work that Mako Plumbing did for us. We would use them again.

All I can say was it's good to know that there are still reliable companies out there!! They showed up on time, gave me a fair price for the work I needed done and did the job in a timely manner. The service man was very friendly, explained exactly what he was going to do and did it. I will definitely use them again and will also refer them to my friends and family.
