+ -1 moreWe called Mako and spoke to a friendly woman named Esther. She made an appointment for another day but said that if any of the plumbers became available she would call. We did not really expect a call but a short time later she called to say that she could send someone at a time that was convenient for us that day. She sent Rob and Jay over. Three different pipes were leaking. One was a really old one from the 1930's. It had to be cut and capped. All work was discussed in advance. After the work was complete the job was discussed and we were given advice about how to spot problems that could arise from old pipes.The plumbers were friendly and informative. They worked quickly amd efficiently. Everything was put in writing. Mako's service was fast, economical and friendly.
Description of Work: Three leaking heating pipes had to be worked on.

+ -1 moreMako installed a new sink 3-piece faucet to a bathroom sink that was non-operational for many years. They went above and beyond the call of duty since upon installation and checking for proper working order, Rob the on-site supervisor and master plumber, discovered that the pipes needed to be snaked. After snaking from the sink end, he then had to snake from the opposite end of the sink, and had to navigate a tight spot to drain out all the gunk that was clogging the bathroom sink pipe from draining. He really got a good soaking and properly muddied up in the unclogging process, but he remained professional and courteous while fixing all the problems. Honestly, I felt a bit sorry that he got so drenched because what I thought would be a simple job turned out to be an arduous fix. That being said, I would gladly hire Mako again. They are worth it.

He looked at the work site asked exactly what I wanted done and explained what he would do including firming the final price which he had to confer about with his home office. After the price was agreed on which included the 10% discount from the Angie's List coupon and discounting the evaluation fee, everything went as quickly and as thoroughly as I believe it should have, very professionly and efficiently.

Description of Work: I used MAKO PLUMBING AND HEATING to cut out and replaced a 59 years old pipe in my basement, which was leaking. + -1 moreRepair man made it seem like a act of god to get a replacement part for our faucet. The faucet has not stopped leaking since he left. ***UPDATE*** Mako went out of their way to resolve my leak at no cost. they call me back several times until the problem was resolved, great follow up.
Description of Work: The cost was VERY expensive and the tub is still leaking two months later. ***UPDATE*** This was a follow up to an earlier repair (leak). The mako team went OUT OF THEIR way to fix the problem.

+ 0 moreThey were great and they came immediately. It wasn’t a free estimate; they charge when they come in, but they will take it off the price from the bill. They couldn’t do anything about my problem because they didn’t feel it was a plumbing problem. They felt that the problem was with my tiles falling off and the water was leaking through the tiles. However, I did have a problem with my sink and they fixed it so they took the deposit off from that. They were great, terrific, honest and open. They told me that the problem wasn’t for them to fix. It was very nice because they could have opened up my whole ceiling, looked at the wall and everything. They did a really nice job and I appreciated it. They came here the next day. They did really well. They were honest and I liked that because they could have just gone ahead and said that they would try to find the leak. I would definitely use them again.

+ -1 moreMako Plumbing performed a rather simple faucet replacement but I felt the charge for the service was excessive considering I supplied the faucet and they did NOT have to remove the disposal to access the faucet.. Since the charge $69.00 just to give you an estimate, you are kind of stuck to give them the job once they are here.

Description of Work: We needed pipes replaced...the job ended up being a lot more costly, in addition to the fact that we ended up replacing more pipes than anticipated. The boss kept trying to rush the employees and pulling employees off the job to handle other jobs elsewhere...Felt they could have worked with us a bit more regarding the overall price... While they did very good work, I would propbably use them again in the future.

+ -1 moreI had another plumber come to my home who comes once a year and explained my problem. He said that I had a leak so I called Angie's List. Mako came to my home and replaced the original pipe that had a large hole in it. They came on time. They were very punctual and they cleaned up very well. They tested everything before they left and found another leak. They had to come back a 2nd day to fix the additional leak. What impressed me the most was the testing they did and that they found the 2nd leak which I had said was there all along. I was left with a hole in the wall and ceiling but Mako recommended another company to fix the hole as well. Mako also reinstalled my washing machine for me as well.

He gave me an estimate, which I accepted, and went to the warehouse to pick up a new toilet and the parts to repair a leaky faucet. The installation was perfect and he even cleaned the bathroom floor before he left. I was happy to take advantage of the company's $50 coupon for Angie's List members. The price was a bit high, but you get what you pay for! I would recommend Mako Plumbing to anyone who needs this type of work done.

+ -1 moreThey are very punctual and very clean. They make sure they covered up while they were working on the finished basement. They covered everything up and very little mess was made. They were very courteous. One of the gentlemen who came was very proactive. I had called them once before I was on Angie's List and they quoted $800 deposit. He waived some fees off since I became an Angie's List member. I had him back since to do other things with the water filter. I got a wrench and he did it for me. They came back a couple of times but they told me if they had to come out any more times they would have to charge me for it. I would be calling them to service my heater as well. Their price is a little of the high end. They were always on time and there was one time they were coming late and they called and let me know. I would call them again to service the filter in the future. It would also depend if they would waive the fee for me because $200 would make a difference.
Description of Work: I had Mako Plumbing & Heating Inc come to my house and do some work for me. They actually repaired and exchanged a in house water filter that I had put on year earlier which was too small for the house. They put a 20 inch blue water filter to come into the house.

+ 0 moreThey were incredibly attentive and responsible for the work that they did. Whenever my mother had a problem, they were right out there to respond to her needs. Things didn’t go perfect and it wasn’t entirely their fault. It was a complicated problem. They replaced the toilet and then it turned out that the problem was with the lines to the house. Then we replaced the lines to the house. The price was fantastic. The guy who did the work was incredibly considerate and responsive. There were little things that they could improve upon. They used the cathode pipe just like that. The guy was in there at 105 degrees for six hours. There was another guy too. They worked like dogs. I spoke to them after the rest of the job was done. They did leave that cathode but as soon as I called and told them about it, they were here in an hour and put it back on in. I would use their services again in the future.
Description of Work: I used Mako Plumbing & Heating Inc. I used their services last summer. He did the plumbing for my mother. She had a problem with her toilet and so they replaced the toilet.

+ -1 moreOverall I was very happy with the responsiveness and service provided by Mako. The communication in scheduling the appointments and in assessing and explaining my options was excellent. The work seems to have been done well as I have not had any issues at this point. They also left everything as clean as they fond it. The prices seemed high to me, but plumbers prices always seem high to me. I can't say whther thers were any better or worse than other plumbers.
Description of Work: I had a number of items on my plumbing to do list, including updating the bath fixtures in 2 bathrooms, a leaky pipe in the basement, a leaky hose spigot and a brokern spray hose on the kitchen sink. Mako was very accommodating when I called to schedule the an appointment for an estimate/ service. They were able to provide a weekend appointment whixh fit my schedule and confirmed the appoontment the day before. The plumber, Robert, cam in and assessed the items on my list. After letting me know my options and the costs for each, we knocked a couple of items off of the list. In the end he ended up replacing the fixtures on one bathtub, installing a new faucet and hose for the kitchen sink and tightening the connecitons on the leaky pipe. He tightened the pipe in order to save me the money on replacing the leaky valve. Ultimately that did not do the trick and the valve was replaced on a subsequent appointment. He also noticed a potentially hazerdous condition with the pipes leading from one of the toilets. He gave me an estimate to fix that issue and I recently had another Mako plumber come in to repair that pipe.

+ -1 moreRob and his crew was able to prove to the Town, that the problem was with their pipe, not mine!
Description of Work: Had a low water pressure problem through the entire house. The Town insisted the problem was on my side of the curb stop. Mako called me with 1/2 hour of making the online request for service and Rob was at the house by the time I got home from work, that same day. He agreed with me that I was getting the run around from the Town, in that I'd have to prove them wrong. He replaced the shut off valves, before & after the water meter, which of course did not change the water pressure. On his next visit, he and his crew excavated the service pipe from the curb stop to the water meter. They dug a trench 25 feet long by 18 inches wide, to expose this pipe. The pipe was totally in tact, no kinks and no leaks to be found. At the curb stop, it was determined that the low pressure was coming directly from the Town's pipe, off of the main. I was able to get a water dept. employee at the site, while the curb stop was still exposed. Rob professionally showed this to the person from the Town. Rob upgraded my service from 3/4 " pipe, to 1", to help increase the water flow, once the Town fixed the problem. He kept me informed every step of the job and showed empathy for my situation. I truly appreciate the hard work that he and his crew performed. Top notch plumber! There was one small drip near the meter and Mako came back the following day to address it.

Luckily they had all the parts on the truck which was good so all jobs were completed within a few hours. Both workers very nice and professional.

+ -1 moreI scheduled an appointment for a Saturday morning in order to obtain estimates for two jobs. Robert was the plumber dispatched for the appointment. The first estimate was to correct my ongoing shower handle problem where the shower handle bracket kept breaking or disconnecting from the shower arm either due to worn out threads on the shower arm or incorrect installation. The cost was approximately $300. I agreed to let Robert proceed with that job based on the estimate provided, and his confidence that he could resolve the problem. He replaced the shower head shower arm, related in-wall connector to water pipe and installed the adjustable shower head handset holder. When he was finished, he tested the work. The second estimate provided was to upgrade my washing machine drainage, which I am currently considering.
