They solved the problem. They were prompt and had efficient communication. They answered my phone calls and took care of everything. People on line had said they were expensive but I did not think they were compared to other plumbing work or what I was thinking it would cost; I thought their price was reasonable.

My experience was excellent . The call to the office was taken in a professionable manner. The Mako truck pulled up on time. The professional plumber Rob introduced himself. Reviewed my needs and went right to work after giving me a price and a very good explanation. The work area was kept clean before and after the job.

It was a serious situation. Robert painstakingly assessed the situation (testing reasons that might be the cause) until he diagnosed the problem. He explained every move he made, beforehand and he explained the rationale for his decisions: He also showed me every thing he intended to do as he went along and ensured my understanding and approval before continuing. Through the combination of his expertise and patience he avoided having to cut through tile to isolate the problem: It was a very small, cylindric portion of the showere head which he sawed off, removed and replaced. Robert also gave me advice on how to avoid further issues: replace grouting. Robert was in home for more than 2 hours; he is curteous, pleasant and knowledgeable about his craft. It was a pleasure working with him and because of his excellence I will use MAKO exclusively as my plumbing company moving forward. Oh! And my Yorkies just LOVED him!

He is a nice guy. He came on time and did a nice job. I felt as though they were way overpriced however.

He knew exactly what to do, and what tools to use. He was professional, and good at knowing which brand of toilets to recommend to me. I would use his services in the future.

A company I had been using for well over ten years had some issues with recent repairs - they did the work, but kept having to come back for forgotten details or last steps. A recent pump replacement was okay, but one of two zones was now out. I called the company, and the receptionist suggested turning off the heat for the season. But I knew from the weather several below average days were coming. Annoyed, I joined Angie's List, and found Mako. The receptionist asked for a short background, and sent over Robert - 'one of our best.' He was actually early, but ready to start. Patiently, he flushed out the system, and waited for it to reset. It seemed the pump replacement was okay, but if the other guy had just flushed the system one more time, that would have done it. Robert was not in a rush to leave. He was very concerned about how the system behaved after the flush. He also checked other parts for deterioration. He made sure I knew what was a major issue, what to listen for, and what issues I could actually fix myself. I also relocated the CO2 detector at his suggestion. All this in about one hour. Turns out he was also correct about the house's original heating system. And four days after he was here, the system is running better than it has in months. Should the system need further work, or need replacement, I will definitely call Mako first. The experience was like finding a mechanic you can absolutely trust. Outstanding.

I was extremely satisfied with the work that Robert preformed and have already spoke with him about doing more work in the master bath. Also he fixed the shower head in bath to make the water flow better at no charge.

I opted not to use Mako Plumbing based on their $125.00 fee for an estimate.

We had a semi-emergency with our basement plumbing. We called Mako based on location and Angie's list rating and we were completely satisfied with the professionalism, promptness and courteousness of both the plumber (Otto) and the office coordinator (Esther). Crisis was resolved at the reasonable price indicated before the commencement of the work.

Phone answered professionally. Easy to set up appt. Plumber was to arrive at 10 AM. My husband noticed the truck was already outside shortly after 9AM as he was leaving for work. He told the plumber that it was my day off form work and I was probably still sleeping. My husband then called me at 9:30 to tell me the plumber was outside. I went out to tell the plumber he could start the job. Unbelievably, he was willing to sit in the truck until 10 so as not to wake me. The plumber, Robert, was totally professional and seemed to know exactly what he was doing. He handed me his card as he walked in and gave me a price up front. He even adjusted my hot water heater temperature gauge and adjusted a poorly flushing toilet at no additional charge. The best part was that it turned out that Robert is an animal lover, as am I, and he has considerable expertise in dog training. My rescue dog is my best friend but is very territorial, and I had her caged before I allowed Robert into my house. The dog was barking, growling and going nuts in her cage, which is what she always does when a stranger comes in the house. Great watch dog, but a problem whenever I have guests. Robert told me to let her out; he has trained many a dog and has never been bitten. I let her out with great trepidation. She ran at him barking and growling. Within minutes, Robert had her under control and even kissing his face. Moreover, he taught me how to train her to be more sociable, so I will no longer need to tranquilize her before having people over. So I had my plumbing done and my dog trained. I would definitely recommend Mako based on my experience today.

It went well. They came on time. They got everything fixed and all worked out. The technician was very courteous and kept me informed of everything he was doing. He gave me options on fixing pieces or replacing them.

Called around 7am, engineer arrived after 12:30pm. He was able to snake out whatever was causing the clog. He could not tell exactly what is was, which is fine. They can get the job done but they are pricey. Since I'm a homeowner and trying to keep costs down, I will look for another plumbing service that has lower rates.

The whole experience with Mako was outstanding! From their responsive, prompt initial appointment to scheduling the installation, the entire process was much better than I'd hope for. I would not hesitate to use them again, or to recommend them to friends and family. Thank you Robert, Esther and all of Mako!

He fixed the shower faucet so that it worked correctly and also adjusted the new flushometor on the downstairs bathroom. He was not able to put the old handle and flusher back on the toilet as a piece was missing, but fixed it so that it works better now. He installed a new shower handle and while he was there, replaced the shower faucet as well. Overall, I was very impressed with the service that I received and will definitely use Mako Plumbing again.

Fantastic from start to finish. When I called, the receptionist was friendly and attentive. Although the job was not an emergency, the plumbers came in less than 24 hours to inspect and measure the pipe. They explained everything, and gave a written work order with the price. They did all the prep work, cutting, threading, etc at their own shop, and came back the next day to do the repair. They accommodated my schedule, came on time, completed the job, cleaned up, and checked to make sure there were no additional problems. I paid exactly the price written on the work order. I have no idea what plumbing work costs, but I will tell you this: I'm a working woman--my time is money. If my time is wasted by wide appointment windows, lateness, dawdling, repeat appointments, or shoddy work, then it costs me dollars and aggravation. MAKO was professional from start to finish--very high value for the price. I will definitely use their services in the future, and I recommend them highly.

He wasn't cheap, but he did a very good job. I've had no further complications.

We are in the process of renovating our kitchen and needed a plumber to do some basic reconnections and installing a new faucet and dishwasher. I found Mako Plumbing on Angie's List. After reading all of the positive reviews, we decided to give them a call. A very pleasant woman, named Esther, answered the phone and asked me what work I needed done. She said that she could send someone out for a $125 fee, which would be credited toward our job if/when we chose to proceed. Although I was a little hesitant to proceed since I had a little fear of throwing away $125 if we were not happy with the estimate we received. But we needed work done and, again, based on all of their positive reviews, we decided to go ahead with the estimate appointment. Rob came out to our house the following day. He was prompt and professional. He took a look at everything we asked to be done and also took a look at all of the pipes below what would be our kitchen sink and noticed they were in pretty bad shape. (We had noticed this as well, and were interested to see what Mako had to say.) He suggested replacing everything and we agreed that it needed to be done. He put together an estimate on the spot and gave me instructions on how to proceed should we wish to schedule the work. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised at the estimate, as it seemed like quite a lot of work to be done. Rob was knowledgable and instilled a lot of confidence. I went ahead and scheduled the work for the following week, since we needed to wait for our countertops and sink to be installed. They were able to accommodate the date I needed, which was extremely important since it was going to be 11 days without running water in our kitchen. Again, Rob showed up on time, which I greatly appreciate. He and an associate were here for most of the day. I had to be out for a portion of the day and Rob was still extremely communicative when I called to check in. Some of what they had planned turned into a bigger job than originally expected... but they were completely accommodating and completely everything. In the end, they still honored the original estimate, even though the work was more involved. All in all, it was a great experience. I highly recommend them and will definitely be calling them again in the future for any of our plumbing needs.

My washing machine was not draining due to a clogged pipe. They responded to my call right away, came soon after they said and worked hard to clear a problem that seems to plague my sewer lines. The service man was friendly, professional and answered all my questions. I will use them again.

What started out with a simple replacement of sink faucets turned into a somewhat larger job that spilled over to other areas. The plumber who came was incredibly personable and explained everything along the way. The drain pipes under the double sinks were so old that they had become so brittle and about to break apart. He efficiently changed out the pipes and installed the sink faucets I had purchased. He then checked out the rest of the pipes per my request and told me that because of the age of the water heater, there was rust in my water. This was causing the discoloration and would eventually damage the pipes. So I decided to get the water heater replaced which he was able to do the same day. He also advised me to get a backflow preventer since my house has a sprinkler system. I will be doing that before I turn on the sprinkler for the summer season. Overall I'm happy with the job and timeliness.

Overall, you guys are spectacular. Without hesitation, I recommend you very highly. Thanks again.

At around 1:00pm, I began smelling an odor like gasoline or petroleum emanating from the basement. I overreacted and thought it was a gas leak and called the gas company (National Grid). Their technician came over and said the smell wasn't gas but actually gasoline from a gas delivery that had spilled into nearby sewer pipes. However, since I reported a gas leak, they had to check everything and lo and behold, they found a few leaks in the pipes. They shut off the gas to the entire house on perhaps one of the coldest days of the year. I was absolutely lost because I did not have a regular go-to plumber and I basically was out of luck calling everyone in the yellow pages because no one would come out on a day like this to do the job. They said it was too labor intensive or they charged a ridiculous amount. My brother-in-law told me about Mako, and I decided to give them a call. I spoke to a guy named Rich who I believe is the boss. He may come off as being kind of aggressive, but he was really honest and he took the time to explain the entire problem to me and to manage my expectations as these jobs can get really crazy. He said he could get a guy over within the hour. However, after Rich had a rougher exchange with my old man, we decided to call it off. I decided to call Rich back about two hours later and said that I apologized for my dad but that we needed his Company's services ASAP. Rich was really good about it because living in Kew Gardens, I am outside their normal service area (mainly Long Island). He also didn't charge me a dime until his guy got to my house so that was further good will on his part. He also sent someone in on a Sunday when basically every other company turned me down. He may sound like a jerk at first, but Rich is a good guy. An hour and half later...came Otto...who is, simply put, a boss. Within two minutes, he figured out what he needed to do and was unscrewing and cutting pipes and replacing stuff all while telling me about his amazing life and about how I shouldn't worry about the problem. This guy got to my house at 7:00 and by 8:00-something, he was gone but not before giving me advice on how to talk to the gas company so they could get to my house ASAP and turn the heat on that night. He wrote my gas line a clean bill of health and after using the tips he suggested, the gas company agreed to be at my house within the hour! They thought the pipes were perfect, thought the plumber did an amazing job and turned the gas back on within 3 minutes. Problem solved. Thank you Mako and THANK YOU OTTO, you are the man. I know that whenever I have a plumbing problem I am calling Mako and asking for you. You are extraordinarily good at what you do.

Absolutely incredible customer service! I needed a Plumber to come by to do some work as soon as possible. At about 7am I called Mako and, with a friendly attitude, Rich picked up the phone . He was very understanding and told me not to worry. He said that he could have someone do the work for me right away and I agreed. Robert came to my house, early, and did a great job disconnecting all of my appliances and capping off some pipes in preparation for a kitchen renovation. Robert is knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. Afterwards, Rich kept his word. We both met and submitted the permit application together and on time. Problem solved! These are the best plumbers you will find and they are licensed in Long Beach too. They have integrity and will only do a professional job. Simply the best!

George remedied a sewer gas odor in our basement and installed a new water heater. He patiently took the time to explain the plumbing issues in our basement. We did not comparison shop the price, but it seemed fair for the good work performed. We would definitely use Mako again - and request George as well.

I got them off of Angie's List. I was absolutely happy to do it. George was the name of the gentleman that they sent out. He was knowledgeable and he showed me exactly what had to be done and why we were doing it. He accomplished his task in a timely manner. He cleaned up everything and made my wife very happy. The faucet is doing great and working perfectly. I would have no doubt, no hesitation whatsoever in calling them again. They were very good. I was extremely pleased with the experience.

I contacted the office at approximately 3:45pm on December 23 rd and was told that they were just finishing up for the holiday weekend. After hearing my problem, Richard told me he had someone just finishing up and he would call me back within 10 minutes. Richard called back and said he had someone for the job and he will be here within the hour due to rush hour traffic. The plumber, Otto arrived within the hour and was prepared with the parts for the job. He was very personable and very knowledgeable. He finished the job within 15 minutes after arriving and excused himself to go to the truck to complete the paperwork and get some business cards. When he returned with the receipt he explained the receipt in detail and indicated the price that Richard had quoted originally. He explained that I had to pay a holiday rate since it was an after hours call. Although I thought the price quoted was high, I was willing to pay it since I didn't want to deal with a flood in my bathroom for the holiday weekend. I felt based upon the facts surrounding my need for the service and the timing of my call, it was reasonable to pay the higher price for the service. I am sure when I need a plumber in the future, when I call Mako, the price quoted will be more in line with current rates now that I know how much timing plays a major factor in the price charged. I was extremely pleased with Otto's performance and would request his services in the future.
