Jayson was professional and did excellent work. He was meticulous and fixed all of the pipes, the leaks and the toilet leaking at the base. He also repaired a toilet at my uncle's house. He arrived on time and left everything clean. I recommend Mako and especially Jason. He took his time to do the work thoroughly.

Great. Rob Mako was the Technician. After he diagnosed the problem, he gave me an inexpensive solution that i was able to do myself. A simple replacement of a relay fuse for one of my zones. (it didnt pay for me to have him come back to replace the fuse) I purchased the part myself from Blackman plumbing and put it in. Very simple and easy fix

Excellent work, very professional. They came on time, did the job very quick and left the basement all clean. So far the new water heater works fine and so does everything else.

During the coldest couple days of the year every plumber I called was inundated with frozen and burst pipes and no one was able to get to my house that evening. When I spoke to Rich (the owner), it was already nighttime and he was very nice and told me he couldn't do anything that night but even though I was almost out of his service area he could have someone come to me in the morning. I was honest with him amd said I was still looking to get someone to come that night. He said great if I could find someone but if not, leave him a message and he would make sure to get someone to me in the morning. I couldn't find anyone that night so I left rich a message and he called me first thing in the morning as he promised he would! He walked us through everything we needed to know on the phone and had his guys come right away! He is so pleasant to deal with and a man of his word. He is very professional but also so personable to talk to that the entire experience was such a pleasure. He turned a stressful situation into a pleasant and easy one! We are very grateful that even though we had never used him before, he treated us so well! We are definitely going to use Mako in the future and will recommend them to everyone we know! It's times like this, and experiences like this that make me so happy to have Angie's list! Rich was a lifesaver and so great!

On a bitter cold Saturday morning, we had a hot water pipe burst below the floor of our kitchen. When we were unable to reach a local contractor, we searched Angie's list and identified Mako Plumbing & Heating as a quality plumber. Rich in the central office was very efficient in reaching his field plumber, Jayson, and contacted me back to let me know the exact time to expect him. Within two hours of my initial call, Jayson and an assistant were at my home. They tracked the hot water line which was broken, repaired and capped the line, and then checked all faucets in the house to ensure the plumbing was working correctly. They were pleasant and efficient, even putting down drop cloths over all work areas to protect the floors and carpets. I could not be happier with the work or the firm.

Called Mako on Wed. night about 9:00 PM when we noticed the problem. Left a message and on Thurs. morning at 6:45 I got a call back. I explained the situation and was told that someone would come by between 11-1. Jay arrived and I showed him what was going on and he looked it over, told me what had to be done and got a quote from his boss. Once it was agreed upon he got to work right away and started the job. A portion of the wall in the dining room had to be cut away to expose the pipe. Sections of pipe had to be cut and replaced with PVC piping. Jay and Rob returned this morning with the supplies and finished the job. Each step was explained as they went along which was great. They were very polite and friendly and cleaned up everything before they left. It was a very good experience for us and I would highly recommend them. I am happy to know that I have a reliable plumber to call on for any future needs. They were even very patient with my husband who loves to take photos of any work done in the house! Thanks Mako.

After the freezing weather, we had a pipe burst on our main level late last night and some flooding in the boiler room and downstairs bath. I called Mako based on the great ratings on Angie's List, as well as four other plumbers, figuring whoever got back to me first would be the one I would talk to first. The only one who called me back was Mako. At 7:28 this morning, and by 8:45 his mechanic Rickie was here with an assistant. They looked at the problem, quickly figured out what needed to be done to repair it and explained everything to me in detail. No surprises in scope of work or in price. By noon they had finished the work, cleaned up and had my water flowing again -- in the correct places. Perhaps not the least expensive, but certainly worth the cost for the responsiveness, professionalism and efficiency in getting the job done. I highly recommend.

Jason arrived on time, and quickly diagnosed where the problem was. He said the problem is under floor and suggested to open the ceiling in my basement, which was proven to be right. Jason carefully cut the ceiling open, little by little. There were some pipes and wood strips on top of the ceiling, and Jason didn't broke anything by mistake. After the problem was confirmed after seeing water leaking from the joint of two pipes, Jason replaced the joint part, from a small hole on ceiling that barely allows him to put both arms in. The fix was tested after it's done. From begin to end, Jason was super nice and polite and patient to answer every question I had.

Jay was friendly, clean & very professional. He entered the house with his tools and a Maco Plumbing mat to clean his feet off. He reviewed the two showers and went out to the van to discuss the charges with his boss. The repairs took about three hours. When finished he thoroughly cleaned both showers and provided a very detailed bill of sale.

They came out in about an hour and a half after I called them. I paid them for the service. They were very professional and everything was good. They were a little on the expensive side.

Jay arrived promptly, identified the problem and did the job in a timely manner. The price was fair and Jay was very pleasant and even my dog liked him !!!

I called Mako plumbing on Monday to see about a leak in our basement. Turns out the leak was caused by a backup from a clogged sewage pipe leading to our septic tank. There were 2 guys helping me clear the sewage water in the basement and unclogged the sewage pipe. Both were very professional, clean and always kept me informed on the tasks they will be performing and the cost for performing the task. Jayson, one of the plumbers told me the cost for clearing a main sewage line was $400 and also said that my house trap had a large hole where the cap was fitted, and that was why all the sewage water leaked out. I had him clear out the pipes and get back to me on an estimate for the replacement on the trap. Later that night, Jayson called me back and told me the cost to replace teh trap was going to be $3500 due to the amount of work entailed (jack hammering into floor, cutting & replacing trap, breaking a part of the wall) I was at first astounded by the cost, and told him I will need to get back to him on it. I knew I needed to do the repair since another clog will result in the same problem. Furthermore, I have a 2 year old, and his play room was in the basement. I didn't want to delay the repair so instead of shopping around, I decided to just eat the cost and have them take care of it. I called them up the next day and said I will like to have the service done. They were very courteous and was very helpful with my needs for getting it done right away. Jayson came in the following morning with another helper and described to me what they will be doing. Since I had to go to work that day, he told me he would give me progress on their work evey so often to keep me up to date. I received a call later in the afternoon from Jayson saying that the work was actually less than he anticipated and instead of taking 2 days, he will be done in 1 day. He also told me that since there was less work involved, they were able to knock the price down to $3000. Later that evening, I came home around 6:30 to pay Jayson and he showed me the work he did. Everything looked great and on top it off, it was very clean. I was very satisfied and gave him my thanks. Great work, professional and clean. Although a bit pricey, I think its well worth it.

We had a cracked and blocked sewer pipe leaking into a basement crawlspace. We initially contacted another local plumber who came by and said they could provide an estimate the next day, and "probably" be able to do the work in three or four days. Since that wasn't acceptable, we immediately looked for another plumber. We called Mako based on the reviews here. They rescheduled their appointments for the day and sent someone over in 15 minutes. WIthin an hour of our call they started the job. Jay the plumber was very professional and thoroughly described what would be a fairly large job. The initial phase of the job went smoother than anticipated, while the final phase unexpectedly required a a new toilet to be plumbed. Mako could have easily added the cost of the unexpected work to the original estimate, but stuck with the original estimate since the initial phase was easier that expected. Overall very satisfied. It was obvious that they are very focused on customer service and repeat business.

There was cracking on a curved section of the waste pipe in the basement. Because of the location, they needed to cut out a large section of the pipe and reconnect four other sections, They cut it all out and replaced with PVC. Another plumber had given an estimate of $1400 for this job, but they were only going to cut out a small 4 inch section. When I asked the Mako guy why he couldn't do the same, he said because it was curved, you would never be able to get a good seal. They did the work on time and then helped me with a clog in the upstairs sink. This is the second time that Mako has done work - they replaced my furnace in the past and did a good job with that as well. They are very professional and know what they're doing. However, they are very, very expensive, which is why I give them an overall score of B

Great job. They called several times to let me know when they would arrive. Thoroughly checked all possible causes of the leak before having to open my ceiling (which I anticpated). Told the price before the continued. Did a great job, efficient, quick, cleaned up after themselves. Very happy with their work, will definitely use them again!

Jay arrived on time. He looked at the situation, explained to me what the problem was and what needed to be done to fix it. He also checked the rest of my plumbing system to be sure everything was ok. He replaced a gate valve and made sure the leaks wouldn't happen in that spot again.

It took approximately a day and 3/4 to do the enitre job. We used Jay which i've seen people mention also. He was very meticulous and did his job thoroughly cleaning up everything including the water that flooded parts of the basement. He took the time to review with me exactly what he did and answered any questions i had. The entire job was neat, and very professional. And i was happy now that the pipes were new and placed in a better position than when the house was first built.

The representative arrived timely, was efficient, clean, knowledgeable and professional. I am very happy with the results and the service provided and would use them again.

It went very well, as had my prior experience with Mako Plumbing back in 2010. The main office is professional and courteous, responds to calls quickly and facilitates timely appointments. The office called on the morning of the appointment and the installer ( Tedd) came on time. He was courteous, professional, industrious, responded to additional inquiries and questions, and demonstrated the installation when completed. His attention to care and detail , particularly in the clean-up prior, during, and after installation was greatly appreciated. Prior to using Mako plumbing, I had used other plumbers, one local to Lynbrook and one a branch of a national franchise. In both instances, the services and professional provided by Mako proved far superior to both companies. They will remain my 1st call for all future jobs.

Called first thing in am on coldest day of the year and even though it was not an emergency they sent Jay out immediately. He was professional and took care of the jobs quickly. Mako is my go to plumber from now on.

I purchased a new sink and faucet and needed someone to install them. I was going to have Lowes install them for me, but the plumber that Lowes in Garden City uses is not licensed in New York City. My co-op required a NYC license, so I had to find a plumber to do the job. I went with Mako because some of the other highly-rate plumbers seem to have had some issues working in a co-op. Might as well get this out of the way early: they're expensive. If you've read the other reviews you've probably figured that out. I had the sink, the faucet and all the materials and supplies, so everything I paid was for labor. Two plumbers, about three hours of work, do the math. The quality of the work is top-notch. They were very careful in setting up tarps to protect the floors and so forth. They cleaned the countertop after removing the old sink, and swept up after all the work was done. The quality of the new plumbing looks great too. Everything is properly fastened, nothing was scratched or dirty after the work was done. I'm really happy to have a sink that looks great and actually works. My old one was leaking all over the place. If you can get past the sticker shock, it's worth calling them. I'm very happy with the work that was done, just wished it could have cost less.

They were very good but they didn’t have to do any work. I liked the plumber that came out and checked the issue. The leak turned out to be a building issue.
