Arrow Exterminating

Darcy called me back within 10 minutes of my call even though it was after business hours. They were at my house within 2 days. Philip did a thorough search and was very thoughtful and nice. They reassured me that I had no bed bugs. I would use them again in a second, I thought they were terrific.

When I first contacted Arrow, I spoke with Darcy regarding my need for services. She was very friendly and very helpful. I found her to be knowledgable, persuasive, and trustworthy. As a result, I scheduled services with Darcy over the phone right away. Within minutes, I had an appointment for two days later. One nice thing about Darcy was that she was very helpful in explaining what we needed to do to prepare our home for servicing. As per Darcy's instructions, my spouse and I spent hours emptying our cabinets and preparing for treatment. At the end of our prep work, I knew that our house was all set for proper treatment. On the day of our appointment, we were fortunate to have AJ from Arrow as our exterminator. He was a very friendly and I thought he did a nice job explaining what he was doing because I was curious about how home pests are treated. I appreciated the time he took with me and found him to be personable. At the end of the service, AJ provided me with information regarding the chemicals used, explained the contract, took my payment, and provided me with a receipt and copy of the contract. After AJ left, I did end up contacting Arrow once more regarding an issue that I felt needed to be addressed. Fortunately, I had the pleasure of working with Jackie, co-president of Arrow, who promptly and professionally resolved it. Thank you Jackie for your assistance. Overall, everything about my experience with Arrow Extermination Company was top notch -- especially the people I interacted with from the company on the phone and in person. I recommend them highly.

The gentlemen who came out did an inspection and informed us that we didn't even have a problem to begin with. He advised us that we had a spider problem and could just take care of it ourselves.We found this to be great because they were honest with us about the issue and didn't try to force us to pay for a service we didn't need. We would definitely use them in the future if we had a pest issue.

I got 5 estimates from A rated companies on Angie's list. Arrow was the middle estimate cost wise. One of the reasons I went with Arrow was that the estimator (Larry) spoke very highly of the company and its employees. (I worked for a company who also treated their employees with respect and I know from experience that this makes for a happy, satisfied customer base.) Their fees are: a one time charge of $395 then $60 per treatment. They issue coupons. They do not require an annual contract . They gave me extensive information on the insecticide that they use. To date, I am very satisfied with their service and follow up, and I have signed up for a plan for the summer months.

My nephew called me while I was on vacation to tell me that there was a bug infestation in a second floor room near an outside terrace, with what he described as thousands of moving bugs. Since I had once had termites in the past, I was concerned about termite swarms and contacted two of the most highly rated exterminators servicing NYC-- Arrow and Magic, both of whom offered free quotes. Arrow scheduled an appointment for 8am to 10am but showed up just after 10am. Meanwhile, although I had seen the thousands of bugs the night before, in the morning, they had disappeared--without any trace, which meant, as I discovered by doing research, they could not have been swarming termites, although I was still concerned. The Arrow representative was professional in attitude and appearance. He carefully inspected the area outside the room, where the terrace had a crack in it. The Arrow rep said it was ants, as did the Magic rep later. The Arrow rep, however, recommended over $800 in treatment for the ants and said otherwise they would never go away. This seemed like a great deal of money to treat simple ants, and when I asked how long the service would take, he said an hour, but it included a short term guarantee they would not come back (he did offer, when I asked why he had not included it, the Angies list discount). He agreed, when asked, that they would not be causing any damage if not treated. Since I had not yet repaired the crack in the outside terrace, where there was moisture, it seemed to me that it was premature to do anything. The Magic rep said it was not worth treating it all, and that when the terrace was fixed, it would take care of the problem and the ants. Instead, I thought what was the harm in going to Home Depot and buying a $2 spray can of raid and a $1 ant trap that claimed to offer bait poison that would be taken back to the nest outside. I sprayed, and the next morning, there were what felt like thousands of dead ants, and, of course, I sprayed outside into the area of the terrace crack where there was likely moisture. I can report that in the four weeks since then, I have had no ants at all. Therefore, I can commend the Magic serviceman, but wonder why the Arrow representative recommended such an expensive (and, to my way of thinking, overpriced for one hour of labor) service.

I have been using them for years and have a yearly contract with them that we renew every year. They do a good job and come automatically; they call before they come and their quality of work is good.

I have nothing to compare their price with, so I can’t rate them on price.

They are excellent. You can call their number at anytime; you get a real person to answer the call. You can get a schedule for somebody to come out within one to two days. Overall, they do a good job.

I called them because I was concerned about insect damage on a door frame. The wood was rotted. The customer service representative was very accommodating and pleasant and setup an appointment for the same day. The inspector arrived exactly on time and was very professional and pleasant. He quickly reassured me that the damage was not a result of insects but water damage. He checked other areas of the house and informed me everything was ok. He proceeded to inform me of what to look for if I suspect insect damage. In addition, he also gave me advice on how to inexpensively repair the door frame. I would definitely use them in the future if I need to. Thanks to Angie's List and member reviews, I was able to make an educated decision which resulted in a very positive experience. They were outstanding, they were very good. I recommend them. When they first came in, they didn't make things complicated. They knew what they were looking for, they found the problem right away and told me how they were going to deal with it. It's been years now since I used them and I haven't had any problems with anything since.

The price I pay them includes tax. They’re responsive and flexible. I used to have them every month and they suggested that I use them every other month to save money, since my immediate problem wasn’t so bad. They told me that if I do this, and if I have a problem even if it’s every other month, they’ll still come if I call them. So that was initiated by them and not at my request, and so I thought that was very nice. They have pretty good customer service and they follow through. Although I don’t know if I’ve had the same person come which I thought I would, and if there’s somebody I don’t like, they just replace them right off. They’re responsive to customer feedback and they’re proactive as well especially with the money, which was very nice of them to do that. It costs less to do it every other month, but then I pay more if I’m doing it every month. I still have the availability of calling them if I just sign up for the every other month service. So I save money in the long run. They’re located not that close to me but they go all over the island to do pest control service. I have no basis for comparison with regard to their price, but it seems reasonable to me. I will continue to use them in the future.

We have been using them for pest control in the past and until now. I think my mom likes them so we would probably use them again in the future. The service was fine but they were a little bit pricey. And they were not perfectly punctual because they had to reschedule for some time.

Dishonest crooks. The person who stop by our house was very impatient and was quick to leave. When ask if we have a termite issue, he was very vague and never bother to perform a full inspection. He then proceeded to sell us a $1700 treatment system and could not be bother with with any of your concerns. After he left, we called another company (search for my other review) and was told before the inspection began that "you HAD an termite issue". He then proceeded to walk thru our home showing us all of the reasons why he believes there are no active termites to be concern with. Curious, we ask him how much would they charge for treatment if we did have a termite issue and was quoted a price of $1500. Arrow - lacking in honesty and integrity ...

They came to my house the next day after I called. They adjusted to my schedule. They made a late appointment with me and just right away did the job. The examined all the molding and light fixtures to find where they were getting in at. They (Steven Wirth) just drilled a little hole in the ceiling and it was done. They did have to come one other time because the wall was full of the bees. The guy did the whole job by himself and we did not have to come out until the bees were dead. They were really understanding. They came back a couple times for the contact and they gave some preventative advice.

"AJ" showed up right on time, introduced himself and asked to take a look at where we saw the ANTS. After he poked around a bit and examined the ANT that I had captured earlier, he informed us that we had a Carpenter ANT problem. He asked if we had seen any ANTS with wings. I hadn't, but just then my wife saw two or more in the vicinity of our patio sliding door outside. AJ knew exactly what they were - Queens! Being in the vicinity of the door, he poked around some more, injected his gas in the threshold of the door, and wow-we never saw so many ANTS bailing out of the woodwork.. AJ took the time to explain exactly what Carpenter ANTS are, their habitat, what they go after - wood - and that they probably originated in a crab apple tree that was located only a few feet away from the house. He attacked the cavity of the crab apple tree and the same thing happened. AJ continued his quest to find other probable nests in our floors, wall and ceiling cavities. AJ carefully and diligently explained the nature of the chemicals he was using. He took his time and did not waiver despite the extraordinarily hot day. When he concluded his service, he described the cost, warranty information and asked us if we had further questions. I was happy to have availed myself of the Arrow Extermination coupon on Angie's List for new customers. AJ is the best! I hope I never have to call him back. However, he reminded us that his treatment comes with a one year warranty and should we see any ANTS from now on, call and he'll come back. PJM

They seem like they know what they are doing. They are very knowledgeable. They didn’t show up one time.

The first thing I should say is that when the exterminator arrived, I looked at my watch, and it was 10 AM. The appointment was set for 10 AM. So I was in shock when the guy was at my house at exactly 10 AM. Kudos!! He introduced himself and asked me what kind of pests problem I had. I told him I had none and the only reason I hired an exterminator is to keep the pests at bay. In other words, for maintenance purposes. He went on to explain he cannot exterminate if there is no pests. He cited its a federal law, which makes sense to me I guess. I told him it makes no sense for me to hire his company if I am going to pay and there won't be no rendered services. Regardless, I let him install glue traps to see if he can catch any pests. After all, I do want to keep my house pest-free and for me to do that, I must stay a step in front of pests.

We moved into our beautiful new home, set on 2.5 acres, here on long island, this past December. Since December, we've noticed an occasional bug crawling by the back door or in the garage. Well, come the beginning of May, all heck broke loose. I woke up one morning to find close to 20 spiders, two different types, crawling along the ceiling, around the molding going down the hall. I thought I was going to have a heart attack. I have a strict rule of not allowing anything with more legs than me into the home. (minus doggies and kitties) I called ARROW in a panic and they sent a service man to the home in under 2 hours. I do want to mention that the nice lady that answered the phone at ARROW asked if I had young children in the home with any medical problems. I told her I have a 3 year old little boy with very severe Asthma. She stated before they could send the serviceman out, I had to call his Physician and find out if he may stay in the home or if I need to take him out for the next 24 hours. My son's Pulmonologist (lung doctor) said it was fine to stay in the house; that the chemicals only affect chldren under the age of 1. So, I called ARROW back and they sent the gentleman; he was wonderful. He checked all through the house, except the attic, which I was told would be done when the service was performed, and he checked the entire perimeter of the house. We had TONS of spider nests, webs, etc. Unfortunately, this house was left vacant for close to 5 years prior to us moving in. Of-course this set off some alarms and we signed a contract for the initial service and for the monthly service. I know some people out there do not want to be sucked into a monthly contract, BUT, for me, I live on 2.5 wooded acres on the water, there is really no other option. I want to live amongst the beauty, not the buggies. Also, what if more bugs were found or came back the next month? I would rather pay $70.00 monthly then 400 every time something came crawling through the home. The ARROW serviceman came the very next morning and did a thorough review of the entire house including the attic and then sprayed everywhere (including garage, attic, perimeter). The gentleman from ARROW, although a little quirky, (I guess who wouldn't be after looking for bugs all day; blach!) was a true professional and was truly knowledgeable about different species of spiders I had living amongst my abode.After service was complete, he brought in this funky tablet, pulled up my bill with my credit card previously charged, and had me electronically sign everything. It was quick and efficient. The only problem was ARROW did not apply the ANGIES LIST Coupon so instead of paying 400.00, I paid $495.00. I called ARROW while the serviceman was sitting in front of me and they were wonderful. She adjusted my bill over the phone, and although they could not do a refund for the difference, they are deducting it from the monthly service. So pretty much will have no bill the first month, and a deduction off the second's month. That was a smart resolution and everyone is happy in the end. I have to say, it is 3 1/2 weeks since my initial service, and the spiders are starting to re-visit, but we have been having nothing but rain for the past 5 days. I called ARROW to tell them they are back and they will be coming on Tuesday (due to the memorial day holiday). I am very pleased with my service with ARROW and I hope this review will help another family out there looking for a trusting company that cares as much about your concerns as you do.

They have monitoring traps around the office, so if we do have anything that shows up, they can find it immediately. It's not that all of a sudden we have a problem. They monitor it once a month. They only spray when they have to. They come in and spray chemicals all over the place. When we have a problem, they come in and take care of it.

I had them years ago. They have numerous offices. It's a big company. They come around every couple months. I don't know what other companies' prices are, but they seem fair to me. Their service works.

They’re a good company and I’ve had no problems with them. I will use them again in the future. In fact they will be coming out in the end of May.

They’re a reputable company. They do their job taking care of the situation. There is good communication.

I have a yearly contract with them. They come once a year for indoor inspection and come monthly to check all the bait traps they maintain around my house. I am satisfied with the results and they came pretty fast. They people who do the monthly checks are pretty nice and I have not had a problem with them. It was quite expensive to do the termite work in the first place and the contract is not cheap. I will use them again in the future.

They provide very good service and I think they are very good. They really know what they are doing. I have been with them for about ten years.

They do an excellent job of preventing things from happening. I've never had insect issues since hiring them 25 years ago. The people are honest and the service is excellent.
