Arrow Exterminating

They are pretty good. They are clean, neat, they did the job and they checked the traps and they're gone. They come once a month and we pay by the year. They are reasonable. We don't have any termites so that's good. They showed up when they did 'cause it's several appointments and they show up every month and they always tell me what the time they would come. They seems to know what they're doing and they check the traps and see us at a very good time.

I thought it was expensive. I would use them again.

They gentleman that came out was friendly and professional but the quote that he gave was very high. The cost was sort of overstated for the service.

The service was adequate, but don't expect immediate results. It took 3 weeks to get a minor (early) roach problem under control. And even though the answering service is very responsive, there seems to be a lack of communication between the workmen and the office. It started when I was seeing bugs I didn't recognize in and around our dishwasher. I sprayed insecticide, but a few days later I would see one again. My husband thought I was overreacting, but then one night I got up and went into the kitchen after the lights had been turned off. When I saw two bugs then, it dawned on me that they must be roaches. I called Arrow on a Sunday. Their answering service made an appt. for me the following Saturday (my choice of day) and advised me to catch a bug for the workmen. (Bonus points for weekend answering services!) When a workman came that Saturday, I showed him the 2 bugs I had caught, and he confirmed they were roaches. He explained they don't use insecticide bombs anymore and use targeted sprays instead. He examined and sprayed our kitchen, bathrooms, basement (under our kitchen), and left behind these sticky traps. I asked him to spray behind the bottom panel on the dishwasher, but he couldn't get the panel off. Unfortunately, he did not see one roach! He said they usually rush out after the area is sprayed. He said he would write down all the places he sprayed, etc., and I should call for a follow-up appt. the next week. The next day I started seeing more roaches than before (at least 2 a day), and none of them were dead! I would walk into the kitchen to eat breakfast, and they would be crawling out into the hallway or from underneath a paper on the counter! I waited 3 days to call Arrow, because my husband said that the workman said we should give it sometime. When I called Arrow again, they sent someone on Saturday (the day I asked for). When a new workman came, he said there was no paperwork from the first guy! I explained everything to him. I gave him some wrenches, and he managed to get off the bottom dishwasher panel, where he found a dead roach and an open egg sack. He explained that in cases like this, where you have the start of what could be a big problem, he liked to "hit it with everything." He added more sticky traps, sprayed a bit more, and added lethal roach bait (that when dry would not harm our cat). He also said he would make an appt. for us the following Saturday, and write up notes. The problem got much better after that, and we saw a few dead roaches now, but there were still a few live ones around. I called that Friday to confirm the Saturday appt., and they had no record of an appt being made! Luckily, they could still get someone out to us on Saturday. These 2 workmen also had no notes to work off of, so it was like starting all over with them. They were very thorough, but didn't think it was such a big deal that I was still seeing an occasional roach. It took one more week and one more appt before I didn't see anymore live roaches, and only one or two new dead ones. So, in conclusion, don't expect immediate results with this service. I was told by one of the workmen that a bigger roach problem can take up top 3 months to eradicate! The plus side is that you don't have to empty out all your food and cabinets (unless you see roaches there), or leave your house for the day. The sprays are not as toxic as the old "bombs." But if you use Arrow for roaches, specify that you want the full "everything they got" service the FIRST time they come, even if THEY don't see any roaches. I think men in general think that women overreact to bugs, but when it comes to roaches, you need to kill them fast, because they reproduce very quickly. I wish we had gotten the second workman first, because it is very disconcerting to see MORE bugs after the first exterminator came. The spray only got them to come out of hiding, but it didn't kill them.

Arrow Exterminating did a great job for us. They deal specifically with bird problem. They came out for site inspection the ay after I called them. They had the ladders necessary to do work 3-stories up. They had to clean out the vents that the birds were bringing in and installed high quality covers. Installing the covers was more difficult than they originally figured when they did their estimates because the vents were not made of studious materials. They found all sorts of structural issues and they took care of that and these are not vent repair guys, they were exterminators. They said "hey we know how to do this, let's take care this for you." They took care of it right there and there cleaned up everything when they were done and ended up spending a couple of hours longer than they intended working on our place and didn't charge us an extra penny. The birds aren't getting in anymore.

After speaking with many exterminating firms, I chose Arrow more based on them being family owned since 1947. I always feel that a family owned business would stand behind the work when @#%@ hits the fan. The exterminator came on time and wore shoe covers as requested. He inspected my entire home from attic to basement. I feel better know that I got a good bill of health from them and I could call them anytime based on the service contract. I would recommended to family and friends....

They were very good. They were very helpful and friendly. Their prices were good.

We have squirrels. I called Arrow and spoke to Patty who helped me understand how everything would be taken care, what is covered and what to ask for if I called others for estimates. I immediately felt like this was the right company just in my conversation with her. I spoke to her at 1145 and Mariano was here by 1230 Very friendly and professional, he explained the process and by 1pm they completed setting the traps. Fingers crossed for a quick capture and release of the uninvited house guest!

We had a large Yellow Jacket nest in our chimney. My husband is allergic and I was 6 months pregnant then. And our son's swingset is right where they were flying in and out of the chimney. I called Arrow in the morning after I found the fourth dead Yellow Jacket in the house and my husband confirmed seeing them flying outside. Arrow responded immediately and within a few hours they had someone at my home spraying the nest until they stopped flying. The gentleman told my husband he wouldn't stop spraying until he was done seeing them flying. It was threatening to rain and possible we could need a second treatment in a few days. He seemed genuinely concerned for my son and for me and wad trying to prevent that from happening. Fortunately it was, we only required the one treatment and haven't seen a Yellow Jacket since!

It was good, no complaints. It went well.

Well it was trying knowing we had these uninvited guests but the tech from Arrow really knew what he was doing and we felt he would solve our problem, which was a relief. They also fixed the hole in the roof. Plus we got a 6 month guarantee. Arrow did a great job.

They came and sprayed the foundation area of my home for carpenter ants.

Fortunately, I had no problem. The inspector arrived within 2 hours of my call. He even took the time to demonstrate how the dog would react should there be bed bugs present. I would not hesitate to recommend this company.

This review is a bit of a contradiction. The first time the Arrow guy, Mike, came out (when a tenant complained of bedbugs), he did a thorough inspection, spent quite a bit of time, and determined (thankfully) that we did not have bedbugs. He said we did not need his services, and he left without charging me a penny. I was so impressed that about a year later, when we discovered a sudden infestation of German cockroaches (gross), I was committed to using Arrow again. I called Mike to come in; he did another thorough review, and he gave me a quote of $1500 to do the "clean up" and then some money for a second visit - I forget exactly how much - i think $100 or so more. At first, I was resigned to spend that amount, and I booked the "clean up" appointment. But the thought of parting with $1500 was bugging me as much as the cockroaches, so i got two more estimates. Both were in the $400 range, and one service offered a free second visit. I took that offer and and canceled my appointment with Arrow. When I called Mike, I apologized but told him that his quote being more than a $1100 difference was too much and I that I had to go with the other vendor. He was nice, and sounded genuinely surprised I found a quote that low (I had two quotes that low) - that he knew the cost of the chemicals and that they were very high, and that I might be getting substandard service, ya da, ya da. I said I really appreciated his service, but I'd take my chances. On the day that I originally scheduled the visit for Arrow, their guys showed up. My tenants let them in and they started up the stairs to the tenant's apt. Luckily I heard the noise, and peaked out and saw them. I raced up as they were unloading their chemicals, and I told them we had canceled. They left. Just in time. Probably just an accident with scheduling since I canceled and all, but still, it was a close call. The end of the story is the other vendor did a great job. The roaches are gone and my $1100 is not.

First he warned us about the expense if he found termites. He didn't find them but he did find a few weird insects that he couldn't identify. He went back to the office and showed the specimens to his team. Another service man came and inspected everything again. Turns out the bugs were a weird kind of wasp. The men who came were extremely nice and seemed really to know their job very well. They didn't charge us anything in the end. We would certainly call the company again if needs be.

Arrow came between the holidays and set some traps. They had to remove the traps per a local ordinance while they were off during the holiday (the animals are not allowed to be in the trap for over 24 hours). They caught 4 squirrels and we sealed up the hole and everything seems alright now. They were very nice workers and their customer relations was really good.

We thought we had bed bugs. They brought the dog over to check it out. Nothing was found. They gave us a night light system that would attract any bugs for awhile. Nothing was found. Subsequently, a few weeks later I brought a sample of what I thought was a bed bug. It wasn't. They didn't charge us for the light or for checking the specimen I brought in. they were terrific.

Everything was excellent. They arrived on time, came out the very next day, and did an extremely thorough inspection and treatment.

We were incredibly happy with them. If we needed them more they would come. The fellow who comes who is our contracted person who takes care of our area is marvelous. He is a great guy so we are very happy with him. We are happy to see him and he does a good job and he is polite and considerate. We have cats and he makes sure he takes care of all of the bowls and gets them out of the way before he sprays. He is a lovely man. We are very happy with him.

Immediate response to our call about woodpecker problem. Spent at least half hour looking at damage and educating us...Gave us some suggestions to try and even stated that often after 2 weeks, the bird can just stop. And that is exactly what happened. Very professional, helpful and sincere. Would definitely use this company again.

I like Arrow Exterminating Company's professionalism and price.

Harry arrived in the morning set two have a heart traps on the roof, baited them with friskies yum!, and returned the next morning to pick up two raccoons. He knew their condition, which ones were youngsters and he handled them gently. They were to be released. This went on until there were no more caught. Then in March I was sitting in my living room and a raccoon walked in, the next day I called Arrow, and Harry returned with two more traps which were placed indoors and the last raccoon was caught. Thank you Harry, Thank you Arrow. Excellent! dos and don'ts: if you have an opening in or at your roofline fix it. I had no idea there were so many raccoons in my house. It was disgusting. I hope I willl not need the service again, but it will definitely be Arrow, and if Harry is still with the conmpany, him too.

Service men were prompt and thorough. I had a enormous ant infestation. I no longer have the problem after just one season of monthly service.

We were repairing our garage and we had these black ants all over (carpenter ants). It's an older home too so there is rotting wood around. They confirmed there were carpenter ants, but said he needed to check for termites. Right outside our hallway window, there was a swarm of flying ants. He told me that they were termites. He said we needed this system; Every three or four feet, they put a bait/trap around your house. They come once a month to clear the traps and replace the bait. I went ahead and signed the 3-year contract to have them take care of this. It cost me $30/month. They didn't find one termite in three years so I was irritated. I would've liked to get out of the contract within a year of no activity, but I couldn't. They did get rid of the carpenter ants, but I felt like I was pushed into the contract for termites when I didn't have termites anyway. I called Arrow recently for another job and they quoted me $450 per room, every room in the house. I just find this to be incredibly expensive and am nervous to use them due to the previous situation.
