Description of Work: Initial request was made to troubleshot the loss of power at one of our properties. Turns out we had lost power in one of the wires coming from Con Edison. Axcel contacted the utility company, entered a service ticket on our behalf, and had a Con Edison crew dispatched to survey the outage. Unfortunately it turned out we were responsible for the repair work in this instance as the damage to the existing underground wiring was beyond the buildings property line. We had Axcel provide a quote to repair the wiring and bring our electrical service meters and panels in the basement up to code at the same time. We were a little shocked at first with the price they came back with. But after having four or five other contractors come out to survey the scope of work involved, we became extremely weary of the low bidders as they didn't seem to grasp all the details that Axcel and the higher bidders were pointing out and explaining to us in detail. Ultimately we decided to contract with Axcel Electric to complete the repairs, correct some minor violations, and upgrade the require parts of the main electrical system. This included, according to their proposal, installation of required bonding and grounding at service equipment, installation of ground rod, repairing the connection at the main water ground, installation of water meter jumper, closing of open entries into panel boards, remove and replace existing underground feeder between property line box and service equipment, file for permit, and provide inspection upon completion.
