So happy to be able to use the plumbing again within 4 hours of their arrival, after dealing with repeated cleanings for the previous 10yrs which was just getting worse as the years passed. If they were unhappy to on the coldest day of the year so far, they hid it well. They did leave behind 1 of their power cords, forgot to reconnect my downspout completely, and poked a hole in the screen door, but that's pretty minor for work done that I won't have to worry about until the day I die or sell the house. They came back when I called to finish the downspout, get their cord and take away an old pipe left in the basement that they replaced. I would recommend them for replacing a sewer line to anyone, but I can warn you - they don't give free estimates, unless they can't camera your line 1st.
Description of Work: My sewer was backing up into the basement, RIC burst a new line through the existing over 100 yr old pipe.

I requested an estimate to replace the entire bubbler system on my property . An affable lad named Adam came out and gave his ideas on how to accomplish this. The front yard was fairly straightforward ... the back yard presented some not insurmountable problems. Adam's suggestions for the back yard ranged from digging through a twenty feet of a concrete slab driveway, that is covered by asphalt, to a ditch through dirt... to lay the tubing . An idea of mine to use their " ditch less" system was discarded after he told me the cost for that was $850.00 per foot. We agreed on the laying the bubbler pipe through a ditch cut through the dirt. A proposal that he shook my hand in assurance that it was certainly doable by his team of " Master Plumbers" Nearly a week after his visit I received a call from these " Master Plumbers" receptionist , that their firm was " declining" the job because it was " too difficult". I called twice to discuss the reasons for the decline, and mentioned to the receptionist that I would be interested in just the front being done...giving her two telephone numbers .... and I received no reply to my two phone calls Perhaps a company that displays professional behavior is not important to you... perhaps the common courtesy to return a phone call for you is irrelevant. . Your choice, but you have been made aware of how this firm operates

I watched as they burst the line underground. The bursting process itself took about 45 minutes, and the only time they stopped was when the rain got relentless - which was about an hour's worth. Once every thing was done, we tested the toilet, and I was amazed that I had forgotten how fast it used to flush. Everything was put back to my specs - and honestly they did more than I asked - as it was just going to be dug up again to install the driveway. About a month after we had the job done, I saw Scott in the grocery store, and he actually remembered me - something that always strikes me as the mark of a good, honest businessman. Even the crew, right down to the youngest of helpers was knowledgeable, and answered all my "silly customer questions" - and if he couldn't, they'd grab another guy right away. I actually think Scott enjoys explaining the crazy processes they have to get your job done. Will definitely hire again if I need a plumber. And if you think the job of a master plumber is easy, go online and take a look at the exam. It's easier to become a lawyer!
Description of Work: Had issues with my sewer line, and although not clogged, it was running slow. Called Scott, he came out with another guy, and they ran the camera down the line. Found a few bad spots under my driveway, and all the way at the end of the line (about 102') where it connected into the sewer main under the street. Although the line would have probably lasted another few years, I was having a new driveway installed, so I needed this out of the way asap. On the day work was to start, Scott and crew showed up, dug two holes about 9 feet deep, and bursted a new line right in place of the old one. They ran it all the way down the driveway, under the sidewalk, and then down 14' to just before the main. Since the street hookup was only cocked slightly, I opted not to spend the add'l money to have the street ripped up and all that. RIC was honest enough to say that we could watch it, and only if necessary, rip up the street. I believe anybody else would have pushed for the add'l $$$ for the work.

It was painless all things considered. Just bought a new house and less than a month later my basement flooded because of the sewer lines. Rick was amazing to talk to and helping me to understand what was going on and explained the issues to me. Very knowledgeable and professional. He even went above and beyond to help us even after the work was completed! His guys that came out to do the work were awesome too! Quick, efficient, and knowledgeable as well! Shortly after purchasing my property, sewage water began to back up in the basement laundry tub. I originally had a different plumbing company clean out the line, which was the original clay tile. They also provided me a quote to replace the trap and the sewer line, with an amount that seemed a bit high. A friend of mine had recently had hired RIC to replace their sewer, and was very happy with their work. I decided to give them a call, and was glad I did. Scott was extremely professional and familiar with my situation. In addition, the price RIC quoted me for the total job was below what the other company wanted just for the trap replacement. I was impressed at how well the job went. Their workers are top notch at what they do!

The discharge pipe for our sump pump ruptured about 6 feet in front of our house causing pooling and extreme wetness in our front yard. RIC provided a solution that routed our sump up through the wall and into the downspout thus saving a lot of excavation and additional cost. They also installed a new sump pump at our request. To diagnose the issue they ran their camera in out drain tile and credited us the cost of that service ($150) on the work. They were able to do the work the next day and it took about an hour. They were fast, clean and efficient. They have done other work on our drain tile and we highly recommend them.

First of all, the owner, Rick is the one that I initially met with after inquiring about an estimate. After my call to the company in the morning, I received a return call from Rick who informed me that he will come out to my home the following day in the a.m. The following day, Rick called and informed me that he will be at my home within 30 minutes. He made it there in 20 minutes! Rick was professional and personable. After his physical inspection and evaluation of the problem areas he went on to explain the anticipated repairs in detail. I received the written estimate the following day as promised. Rick informed me that they are busy and it would be approximately 4-6 weeks before a start date. Rick assured me that I should not have any increased problems during the waiting period. However, if a problem arises, his crew will make me a priority. However, if my situation I agreed...So far, so good! A Few weeks after, I received a call from RIC Plumbing asking me if I would be ok with a start date of November 10th? I agreed to the start date. They called the day before the job and provided the start time and wanted to know if I had any questions or concerns. They arrived promptl and started work excavating the basement floor around the problem area. Unfortunately, they discovered additional problems with the sewer pipe. A major portion was completely disentigrated. Adam, who is Rick's son, informed me of the issues and went over my options. This issue meant that there is going to be an increase in the original quote and an additional day of work. Anyway, the job was completed the following day. The crew moved and returned all items to their original location. Tarp was placed from the outside door all the way to the immediate work area. At the end of the job, they did a thorough cleanup. The crew had to postpone the other job ( Remove broken drain line. Install new drain lines and a bubbler system for a week to allow wet and soggy soil to dry out. They returned as scheduled and completed the job in 5 hours. By the way, I received a generous discount for paying in cash.......With that being said, I would highly recommend RIC Plumbing. I was Satisfied an impressed with their workmanship, their professionalism and customer service skills.
Description of Work: This was for two separate repairs....Installed a new sewer line and trap inside the home. Installed a new sewer line and clean out from the home to the sidewalk and connected to the Town Sanitary line. Removed and installed a new drain line and bubbler from the rear of the house to the Town drain line.
Unfortunately my 65 yr old sewer line had cracked in 2 places. The new 5 inch line was done via a trenchless method from my basement under my porch and tied in to the main sewer line 15 feet below grade. They dug one trench at my sidewalk, 15 feet down. The trench required digigng between the street gas main and street water main. The new sewer line was installed in one 8hr day. The site was back filled and leveled and compacted with new gravel. All work was done quickly and in a professional manor. Basically no down time for me. I used my bathroom later that day.

As I was getting estimates for a new driveway, one of the issues was that my sump pump discharged onto my current driveway, and was eroding parts of it away. Obviously, I didn't want that discharging onto a new driveway, and one of the concrete companies I got an estimate from suggested an underground bubbler system to deal with the problem. They gave me an estimate (approx $2000) for that. Since I had no idea whether that was a good price or not (NOT, by the way), I called a couple companies to get other estimates for the bubbler system. RIC Plumbing was one of those companies. The other company I called was in the same ballpark, price-wise, as RIC, although slightly higher, but when they didn't return my follow-up call after the initial estimate, I decided to go with Rick's company. I had a bit of a timing issue, as I needed to get the bubbler system in before the new driveway, and Rick was willing to work with me on that. We agreed on getting it done before the first week of August. He called me early one morning a week later saying that he had a cancellation, and asked if he could do the work that day. Since I wanted it done as soon as possible, I said that was fine. His crew came out within a couple hours and dug the drainage ditch, laid the PVC pipe, and covered it back up. Everything was done nice and neatly, and so far, it seems to be working well...no more discharge onto my driveway or grass. We'll see this winter how well it works. I'm just hoping it doesn't freeze up, which could potentially damage my sump pump. I gave Rick's team an "A" in everything, except Professionalism, as for whatever reason, they left a plastic downspout redirection pipe, but took with them an aluminum downspout elbow, and an 8 ft black corrugated drainage pipe I had to redirect my sump pump discharge to the grass. I'm not sure why they didn't leave those two items as well. Not a huge deal, although I did purchase them recently, and could have used the drainage pipe elsewhere. Overall, I'm pleased so far with their work, and would consider calling them again for future plumping work.

I couldn't be more pleased with RIC Plumbing. Owners Rick Kuhn (father) and Steve Kuhn (son) were very professional and great to work with. Steve was "on-sight" to work along with his crew and supervise the entire job. One of our bubbler systems was blocked and sump pump water would spray out of the piping next to the foundation wall where the gutter downspout and sump drain join together. Due to soils settlement, the piping out to the street was damaged and the proper fix was to install a new line from the house to the street curb. RIC dug a 12" wide trench down the lawn and used plywood to protect the lawn from machinery and soil piled adjacent to the trench. They had to carefully dig through the maze of underground utilities (gas, electric, telephone, fiber) that route across our property near the street. They coordinated all markings with the utility companies prior to starting the job. After the trench was dug, new pipe was installed, trench was backfilled, soils were tamped and the lawn was restored to original condition. I also had RIC perform a video inspection of the house sewer line because other homes in the neighborhood have experienced pipe failures due to the poor soil conditions. Low and behold, the pipe was sheared just past the foundation wall. The pipe had been damaged and misaligned for some time and I was lucky to have not experienced a blockage. Sewer water was passing through the area of the break with a small 1" (at best) opening and it amazed RIC that we had not experienced problems. All I can say is thank goodness we found the problem BEFORE it became an emergency such as during the middle of winter just experienced. The video inspection is an easy process (at least RIC made it look that way) and it was fascinating to watch the camera on the video screen. I highly recommend RIC for plumbing work!

Scott from R.I.C. Plumbing came out and estimated the job at $2800. My downspout bubbler had clogged causing sump pump and downspout problems. They came out early with three guys including Scott. The re-direct was done with no damage to the yard except where they dug. After putting new drain pipe down they covered with the dirt and reseeded. It looks and works great! RIC plumbing are clearly experts in this type of work. They were also extremely responsive (called back within 30 minutes, and showed up at my home within a few hours). I have had several incidents needing sewer line cleaning service due to tree roots clogging my sewer line, and damaged/separated sections of pipe. When the water showed up in the basement again, I knew it was time to take of the problem once and for all, and find a place I could trust to do it right. In addition to getting a quote for sewer line excavation/repair, when I told them that I needed rapid assistance (couldn't shower or even flush without bad things happening in the basement) they responded immediately. They were friendly and courteous, informative about everything they were doing and planning to quote, and extremely quick and efficient in their work. Their quote for the permanent fix to my problems was approx $2000 less than the big chain, and will require less digging of my yard and less chance of damaging my big beautiful tree. I look forward to working with them again when the work is scheduled in the next week or two for the permanent repair to my sewer line. All around professionals with the expertise to give the very best service. I highly recommend them.

What a great group of guys! Scott Kuhn responded promptly to my call for help after another contractor (large basement/plumbing company in WNY) left me hanging out to soak. He was sympathetic to my situation so ran a camera for free and secured me as a customer. I accepted his quote and he and his crew came back a few weeks later with the same friendlessness and professionalism as he did on his first visit. My yard was still wet and they did everything to keep it as clean as possible. They installed new, higher quality drain pipe, after taking care of all the town permits. I am having my driveway redone soon too, and he even moved my mailbox for me (as a favor). My wife and I are extremely happy and would recommend them to anyone.

The problem I was having was that my sump pump was recycling due to a clog or broken pipe in the bubbler system. I called RIC several weeks ago, we set up a time for an estimate and they were here promptly for the appointment. They indicated that it appeared that the problem was probably in the bubbler at the curb. Due to the cold weather, they rightly advised me to wait a couple of weeks to actually have them do the work, because the kind work they were going to do could break the PVC pipes. As they said they would, they had the utilities come out and mark where the underground pipes etc were and a couple days later they contacted me and set up a time to do the work. They were here right on time and completed the work and cleaned up. The bubbler was originally installed improperly, with no glue in the joints, no cap at the bottom and very little stone. The pipe joint had separated and was filled with roots. They flushed it out, replaced and glued the fittings, put the correct amount of stone in, filled in the hole and seeded. We had a significant amount of rain since they did the work and it did the trick, the sump is no longer running constantly. They know what they're doing and they are no nonsense, and there was no over selling work that didn't need to be done. They specialize in underground drainage, underfloor drainage, sump pumps, sewer, bubblers etc. I would hire them again anytime.

Rick and his company were extremely professional. They came out after I had a quote from another plumber and didn't want to know how much they quoted me, but was willing to come out without any other obligation or money from me. He then called me and gave me a number over the phone. I agreed to his number which was substantially lower than my quote and I was in a rush to get this job done having waste in my basement due to a collapsed pipe outside to the sewer. In the end they were done in 5 hours , cleaned up and what made this most interesting was the day before I knew they were coming we had a problem with my next door neighbor who owns the driveway near the work area. She was very adamant that we don't do any work if it infringes on her property. They took ultimate care not to do any digging if it were on her property or driveway. They ended up having to dig by hand in very cold weather when they could have used a machine, but because they knew the sensitivity of the situation were very good about making sure to take picture before and after as well as digging out the trench by hand to ensure there was no breach. I have to say, over the years I have hired many contractors, something I dont particularly care for. This comany was the best contractor/ plumber I have ever worked with bar none. I hated t part with all that money, but I am glad I chose this company and not the other, which was not on Angies list, but was a referral from a friend.

The work was done professionally and the job site was kept tidy. I was very pleased with their work demeanor and quality of work, and would recommend and use them again.
Description of Work: I had some leakage in my basement from my sewer line which was under a 22x40 foot concrete patio. Scott & Adam came out at promptly at the appointed time and ran a camera through the line, the line had separated outside the foundation and under the concrete patio and there was a blockage in the section running to the street. They found the clean-out in the front yard and ran a power snake to the street and cleared the blockage. To fix the break under the patio, they suggested re-routing the sewer line in the basement to exit out the side of the house, rather than tearing up the concrete patio or trying to reline the sewer pipe under the patio, which would be more expensive and risked cracking the concrete. We agreed on a price and Adam and his crew showed up at the appointed time and the work was finished that day.

RIC plumbing was wonderful from the first contact to the end of the job. I was told by another company that my entire sewer line needed to be replaced. I called around for quotes and RIC came right out. They brought a camera scope and determined that the line was in perfect condition and didn't need replacement. The problem was in the trap under the basement floor. It was cast iron and had corroded, leaking sewage into the ground and clogging. They were very professional and explained the whole process, showing me the line through the camera all the way from the house to the street. I was very surprised that the line looked brand new. I was also grateful that they took the time to make sure entire line replacement was even necessary since when I called for the quote, I told them that's what I wanted. A less honest company may have gone ahead with the replacement quote without investigating further. When it came time for the work to be done, we couldn't have been more impressed. The entire crew was respectful, professional and worked quickly. After they finished, they even replaced an old toilet with a new one I bought free of charge! We were extremely happy with RIC and highly recommend them.

Rick promptly returned my call and set up a time for a meeting and estimate. He arrived within a few minutes of the scheduled time and proposed a liner instead of digging up my entire yard. A few days later his son Scott came and cleaned my sewer so that he could scope it with a camera. He returned to his truck and in 15 minutes I had my estimate. The sewer line would be replaced by a heavy duty liner without digging up my front yard. RIC would dig a hole in my basement where the sewer line started.. Then dig a hole between the sidewalk and the curb where they would pull the 70 foot by 4 inch liner with a hydraulic winch made for this. Check out the video on their site: http://www.ricplumbing.com/. Scott said on the first day they would dig the hole in the basement. The next day dig the hole by the curb. The hole in the basement took until 11:Am and they were gone leaving the house as clean as when they started. The next morning the entire crew showed up, SIX people plus equipment. They were done by 2:00. I was most impressed with the professionalism of the entire team and the attention to detail. Of all the contractors I have ever hired in my entire life, this was my best experience.

They dismantled my old clogged up piping and installed a new drain line from my sump pump all the way to the street. They obtained a permit and called the plumbing inspector prior to filling up the trench they had to dig. They covered up the trench and said they would be back on a less wet day to add topsoil and grass seed. They came back one week later and did the landscaping as promised. The crew was professional and friendly. They answered all questions and the final bill was exactly the amount of the estimate.
Description of Work: Sump pump drainage line was placed underground leading from sump pump discharge in basement to the street.
