We bought a house with an in ground pool having never had one before. Jim's has been caring for the pool for the previous owner so we continued with the company. When they took the cover off, the pool was a swamp. That was on May 1st. It is now the end of June and the pool is still not usable. After the opening, we had them come back to treat the pool. They put a lot of chemicals in and gave us some instructions (which we have followed to the letter) and it was still green. Lighter green, but still green. We took the water sample in to be tested and they sold us some more chemicals and a week later, it's still green. We bought a new filter. Still green. We hired them for weekly cleaning for a month. Still green. We fired them. This process has cost us about $1500 and we still cannot swim in our dream house pool. Every time they came over, Josh, their employee would say things like "well let's try this." and he'd turn a lever. If that didn't work, he'd try something else. We had no confidence in him at all and it was clear to me that he didn't know what he was doing. The owner PJ, came over twice and would barely speak to me and was very condescending. We consulted with the company that actually put in the pool (nice gunite with spa) and he said there was a part broken because the other company had installed it upside down. They replaced it at not charge. Their company spent an hour teaching us, in the pouring rain, how to run the salt water system. No charge! The fee for some chemicals was $49.00. However, I must admit, the pool is still green. We are at our wits end about the pool and really feel that Jim's conned us by taking so much money and none of what they did worked. If I could sue, I would. One day they came, left after doing nothing, my husband called and was assured they'd be right back and they didn't come back until 8pm! If you're looking for a pool service and repair company, RUN don't walk and I really mean RUN. Do NOT hire this business. You will be very much lighter in the wallet and have little or no results.
