They have an ever-changing crew of employees, so my lawn was never done the same way twice. When new employees came on they were not instructed where to mow, so one area out back was unmowed for a very long time. When I noticed it, the grass had gotten too long for their mowers. Even though this was about 1/3 of my lawn, they never gave me a refund from the pre-paid full price. Also, the new employees were not trained in the complexities of their machinery. As a result, new employees regularly damaged the soft lawn with high-speed turns in their zero-radius mowers. (This happened at least 3 times.) They are so disorganized or overwhelmed that I had to wait until August 2018 for FALL 2017 clean-up! There was no feedback on my request, or estimated cost, or ETA. They just showed up one day. And then I was billed hundreds of dollars too much. They did not notice until I emailed them. (You usually cannot get ANYONE from Bailey's on the phone. ) As for snow plowing, they are not very responsive to residential customers. I believe this is because they have commercial customers who strain their manpower. I stopped using them after I called them about coming when my driveway was already at 8" of snow and they said they were still busy. (This was back when you could still call Shawn Bailey. You can't now. His number is changed to an answering machine that is sometimes staffed by anOffice person.) I am an older lady. I need my drive cleared for emergencies, plus, my mail is delivered via my driveway.

Bailey's has mowed my lawn and plowed my snow for many years. I have watched them grow into a big business with many employees and lots of impressive machinery. They come every week on Monday or Tuesday, and always do a very good job on the lawn. they use leaf blowers and string trimmers to finish the job, even getting the weeds in the sidewalk cracks!

See above. They recognized deficiencies in manpower and corrected them in a professional manner.
Description of Work: Bailey Brothers has plowed our large driveway for the past several years. They also mow our extensive lawns and do some yard work...clean-up, mulching, edging, etc.. Their work is reliable and reasonably-priced for their high quality and reliability. Their employees are friendly, accommodating and eager to please. Their equipment for lawn care and snow control is the highest quality in Western NY. They have had some personnel shake-ups in the last few months that led to some spotty work. But, they been responsive to customer feedback and have emerged stronger and more professional and organized.

At first, they were prompt and responsive and did quality work. They quoted their rates in advance, and negotiated each Winter's plowing terms in the Fall (typically, Contract or Pay-as-you-go.) Gradually, they stopped informing me of their charges in advance. I liked them and did not complain about this, even though I had no advance notice of the Plowing fee, or the cost of clean-ups, etc.. However, in the last year their performance has changed, and I am more inclined to want a more businesslike relationship going forward: The snow plowers only get about 3 feet from the garage doors and the post box. I have to shovel the rest myself. (I am 72) Also, they have not always plowed often enough in a day to meet their "never over 2 inches" promise. Since the Plowing was not planned-out with them in the Fall, I had no ability to negotiate exactly what would be plowed, where. They have not actually planned and negotiated a Season rate prior to the Winter for several years. Instead, i get a bill in the Spring for the amount they have decided upon. Meanwhile, I call every time the plowing is a problem for us. They seem to be growing fast, and their new people make mistakes, perhaps because they are not adequately told by experienced supervisors how to do things here. For instance, the lawn clean-up crew dumped all the leaves and debris from a Fall clean-up in a planted, naturalized field, instead of on the pile in the pasture they have used for years. The result is a dead forsythia this Spring where the leaves were piled. Their lawn mowers miss places in the grass, or miss the fact that their mowers have cut to uneven lengths. It's seems they don't even evaluate the effect of their mowing, in order to be sure they are creating a smooth lawn. So, the lawn doesn't look good even after it has just been cut! I do not so much need the grass CUT. I need it to look good. Proper cutting makes it look good. What they are doing lately leaves it looking just about as bad, only shorter! Most importantly, I have been trying to contact someone in charge for weeks (Shawn), to discuss possibly modifying the area they cut in order to save money. I do not even know what their rate will be this Summer. No one has called me back except a foreman about some mulching I need. I am starting to fell ignored and unvalued. So, I am going to put this work on a professional basis and seek bids for our Grounds maintenance needs.

Everything was done in record time and cleanup was excellent.
Description of Work: They trimmed one side of my backyard which was fenced and had to get neighbor's permission to trim "his trees" that were coming into my yard over and through the chain link fence. They also removed the chain link fence along the back border of my yard and trimmed the many high weeds and small trees growing there as the space between my chain fence and the back neighbor's 8 ft high solid fence did not afford me a way to trim the weeds.

They were great. Kept appointment, on time and courteous from the beginning. Well mannered while doing the work. Cleaned up after themselves, took away all debris. I would definitely use them again. If I could give them an A+ I would!

We didn't have very much snow, so they didn't plow very often. But when they did, it was a very good job....close to doors and gates, with thoughtful depositing of snow mounds. We were so pleased with their work ethic that we hired them to mow our extensive lawns. They suggested de-thatching, because we used a mulching mower last year. Their mowing job was very pleasing...their mower leaves a very smoothe result. We also asked them to prune the 120 feet of roses in fronof our fence. They did that with skill and knowledge (it's an art) and left the hedge immaculate. Next, they will aply lawn fertilizer and crabgrass killer, and weed the rose hedge and apply preemergent and mulch. o all our lawn and garden care, since I just had back surgery and my husband has neck surgery in a few weeks. They bill monthly added 8/2012 They work very fast. However, I had to go arond with RoundUp this spring because they don't get the edges. Also, they spray grass where it shouldn't be and don't blow it off.
Description of Work: We had a contract with them for snow removal over the winter. Also, we hired them for lawn-care and pruning/weeding, etc. Over the winter, they plowed about 4 times. This spring, they have de-thatched and mowed the lawn and pruned a 120' rose hedge. They also picked up a Japanese MapleI bought 15 miles away. They put it in the barn, as they recommend waiting to plant it until the freezing nights stop. Added 8/2012 We agreed to a charge of $55.00 for each lawn mowing, because that is what they estimated it would cost. However, it takes 2 guys on 2 mowers about 15 minutes to do the work. I don't have them do the fenced garden (part of the original area) because they spray so much grass so far away. (There is grass packed up against the generator, all over the terrace, etc.) I believe this is an awful lot for such a short bit of work, so I think their estimate might have been high. Also, they offered to repair a wheel for our bush-hog in the spring. I guess it's been done for several months, but repeated requests haven't reminded them to bring it back.
