Contractor Bought the house and 'fixed it up' I am unsure of the original condition of the house. The only good thing I will say is the overall composition was good (aka they were aiming high, but hit low) They spent significant effort on the kitchen and it shows. The roof appeared to also be done well. They replaced all the windows of which they applied caulk to one or two. The steam heating system was partially shut off and leaked The added/remodeled a small bathroom. They did not caulk/seal the shower so it leaked into the underlying structure. The other bathroom was remodeled as well. The drywall in the corner was finished poorly so the tape/metal strip sticks out with cracking. The installed a gas logs insert into an old fireplace without an insert. They installed another gas insert that covered the entire opening, but was not anchored and could easily fall. The gas to the hot water tank was not hooked up and after a bit of prompting they finally took care of it. They remodeled a utility room for washer and dryer. They put in 120, hot and cold water, but no electric or gas for a dryer. This still hasn't been cleared up. When contacting I can never reach someone who can help. I must always leave a message. Only one time was the message responded to promptly. The insulation job with spray foam was decent.

Response from TRUAX & HOVEY LTD
Truax & Hovey LTD does not purchase homes. We are interior contractors and involved in renovations and new construction as contracted. Unsure what this gentleman is referring to as it sounds as though he purchased a home. He may have bought a house that the owner of our company "flipped" but again work would have been performed per code and I am sure any real estate transaction would be subject to a home inspection.

The company sent me an estimate. I did place a call to clarify one of the proposals with no return call. I returned the signed estimate and allowed a reasonable amount of time over the weekend, expecting to hear from them. I have tried twice as of today and Dave Hovey has never returned a call. This company was highly recommended by another company I have used in the past that does not do this kind of work. Needless to say, I am really disappointed in their lack of sincerity. Why send an estimate to be signed and returned if you have no intention of completing
