They rented us a storage container. We asked if it could be placed next to our driveway on the lawn, so it wouldn't block the driveway. The driver told us that was no problem. When it came time for them to pick up the unit when we were done, they couldn't get their equipment onto the lawn to lift it, due to snow. I shoveled out the box, and they backed their truck and lift onto the lawn, leaving deep ruts, but still couldn't retrieve the box. They told us we'd have to wait until summer when the ground was firmer, and we'd have to pay for the extra time. We called them back after the ground was frozen hard, and they still couldn't get their lift in position to move the box, and told me I'd have to pay a tow truck to drag the box onto the driveway. I told them that the placement of the box was their responsibility, as their driver had okayed the placement on the lawn. They told me that the driver did not know what he was doing, and had since been fired, and that it was my problem, not theirs. I finally paid a tow truck to drag the box onto the driveway, and they picked it up, leaving more ruts in my lawn next to the driveway. Their manager was unreasonable, unhelpful, and rude. When they picked up the box, to move it to our new house, we were told that they had to transport it to Liverpool (40 minutes away) to their storage facility first, then return it to our house (southeast of Syracuse), which was only 5 minutes away. Thankfully, their driver was more reasonable than the manager, and agreed to transport it directly to our new house, 5 minutes away. If you must work with these folks, don't let them put the box anywhere but on level pavement! Better off going with someone else!

After receiving phone notification of imminent arrival within 10-15 minutes, morning of delivery, truck didn't actually arrive 'til nearly half-the-hour later. Driver who was already supposed to know from LENGTHY, DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS solicited in advance, by phone {which took up no less than 20 minutes of our time already} that he was to drive right into our drive way, opted to attempt backing into the driveway upon arrival before even getting out of the truck to speak with anyone here about altering our bought+paid-for delivery plan. In process he also backed right over our recycling bin. Apparently no one informed him of the delivery information and he simply assumed the unit was to be dropped in the driveway (by default) despite the fact we'd already had to pay an additional $60-some dollars to have it dropped on the lawn. We're now convinced their delivery person's an inexperienced truck-driver and he made a remarkable show of ineptitude at controlling the box-crane-rig for placing the storage unit to beat all. We showed him where to place it and instead it's been left sitting cockeyed taking up two parking spaces in our driveway as opposed to the requested single spot. Practically EVERY DETAIL we were informed of about the delivery service supposedly available from Pods was directly contradicted by their driver. Furthermore, the driver made absolutely NO 'customer service' effort to ensure we'd receive any refund of their extra delivery-charge for services NOT rendered or proved 'currently unavailable in [y]our area'.
