Description of Work: DiMartino completely striped and replaced my roof. A complicated job with some tricky valleys. The owner worked with me to fully explain costs and options. I ended up with higher quality at a lower price. The job was done in a day and the team worked like a well-oiled machine. I tipped them because of their attitude and obvious attention to detail. They pointed out little things they were doing to reinforce here and there, for example. First-rate work. Very pleased. DiMartino also did lots of other work improving my home and they are currently replacing two exterior stairways for my rental property.

Description of Work: 3000 sq ft house.....had shingles in need of repair.....I called company & the owner (John) called me right back. I was planning on buying this house & wanted shingles removed & siding done prior to move in at end of August. John made this happen. John is extremely patient.....I change my mind a lot & it takes me a while to make final decisions. John helped me with various choices & he proposed the final color scheme, which I love (yellowish cream siding with brown shutters). He has got a great eye & you can ask any questions....I asked a million. Job done on time & estimate was right on (I chose to add a few extras). Great experience!

Description of Work: We have a home in the village of Baldwinsville right near the water. Our home was built in 1860 and has had a few remodels to say the least over the years. Because of being so close to the water our home does get abused pretty well from the elements. We have had patch jobs over the years on our roofs. We have the main structure roof plus an addition and two porches with roofs. We decided it was time to have all of them completely redone because we have been wanting to do new vinyl siding as well as build a new deck on the back of our house off the addition and we have been told the roofing job can sometimes be messy. So we had actually been seeing Angie's List ads on tv but hadn't made the move to sign up yet. We had a budget of $25,000 for new roofing, siding, and a deck. We had four different companies come out to give a quote for the roofing and siding but they did not do decks. We had quotes for the combined job of roofing and siding from as low as $11,250 up to $26,860..... It was amazing to us how different each company was. Some said we didn't need to rip off the current roofs, some said they could go right over the old cedar shake shingles with new siding even though the shingles were falling off and the ones that were still on the house were mostly curled from moisture. We then had three company's come out for estimates of building a new deck for us. We had a rough idea of what we wanted it to look like and we knew we wanted it to be large enough for entertaining. We currently had a 10x10 deck that was in bad shape in place and we couldn't do anything on it besides have a grill and table and two chairs. We had quotes and some good designs. The quotes ranged from $6800.00 to $11,300.00..... The smallest quote was from one company that said they could use some of the wood from our current deck and that would save us some money. Save us money, yes.... Save us having to do extra work ourselves, no.... The current deck was not in great shape and had multiple layers of solid stain we would have to try and get off.... No thank you. We had not made a choice yet and we happened to go out to dinner the one night with a group of friends and we had been telling them about our search. We had also mentioned that to get someone to do the roofing and siding now and still have enough money left to pay someone to do the deck afterwards We would have to go with a lower quality company on the main job or on the deck job and we didn't want to do either. One of our friends that night recommended DiMartino Construction to us. We called them the next day and spoke with the owner John. We told him what we had been looking to do but did not tell him our budget or other quotes. John came out the very next day on time and was such a nice guy. Very professional and not only told us what he was doing when he walked around our exterior but said if we had any questions not to hesitate asking. Once John was done he came in and we sat down and went over the roofing and siding jobs. John stated that all of the roof seemed solid but needed a complete shingle removal and if we needed new plywood underneath he would give us a quote now for each sheet installed so we knew if we needed a few sheets we were still within our budget. With our siding he mentioned that the current siding was in pretty bad shape and that the only way he would do the job would be the right way and that was to remove all of the current siding, that was what we wanted to hear. John seemed so nice that we were afraid to hear his quote because we wanted him for the job, we just didn't know if we would have any money left to do the deck. John gave us a quote of $5,750 for the roofing work and $12,825 for all of the siding work, including insulation board and wrapping the house. We were so happy we signed right at that point. John and his team came out the next week and started with the roofing work. And then he went on to do the siding.

Description of Work: Okay, so we have been here before with a review for DiMartino Construction on a roofing and siding job that they recently completed and did an amazing job at. We still needed our new amazing deck to be built and at the end of the roofing and siding job we had mentioned something about it only to find out John and DiMartino Construction could do that also. So, we had some ideas in our head. We met us with John and told him what we wanted. He did a rough sketch of some of our ideas and also told us what would work and what we might want to do just a little differently. So we came up with the design we wanted. We had a total budget of $25,000 when we started all of this. We spent $18,575 for the roofing and siding job, so we had $6,425 left for the deck. We knew that would more than likely not be enough based on the prior quotes we received from other contractors. So to our surprise John quoted us $7,200 for the deck that was almost 500 sq ft....... So, yes, it was over our amount we had left from our total budget but it was also only a little more than the one quote we got from the company that wanted to use some wood from our current deck that was being taken down and that was the quote that left us doing work removing old solid stain from the boards and we didn't want that. So, we agreed to the $7,200 that only put us $775 over our total budget of $25,000................................... Within two days they had started taking down the old deck and had a permit to start building the new one. They had all the posts in and inspected by the village. Within no time we had our new deck being built. The final job is AMAZING!!!!!!! John did a few extra things for us like reinforcing under the one area of deck for a hot tub. He also put up a privacy wall on that part of the deck to. WE HAVE THE DECK ON THE STREET, NO DOUBT!!!!! We have enough room for a hot tub, large grill, big table with six chairs, some lounge chairs, a fire pit with four chairs around it and still room for everyone to stand and get around at parties.......... Once again, THANK YOU JOHN AND DIMARTINO CONSTRUCTION FOR ANOTHER JOB WELL DONE.................

Description of Work: I had wind damage to my roof and siding. DiMartino's did a great job with the repairs. They matched the colors perfectly and I cant even tell where the damage was. I then asked them for an estimate on replacing my roof. I was very impressed when the owner advised me to hold off on a new roof as the current one was fine. I was happy that they did not just try to sell me something I did not need. Honesty goes a long way with me. I then asked them to provide me an estimate for a bathroom I would like to have remodeled. they provided me a quote for $6200.00. I accepted and they will,begin the work at the end of April.

Description of Work: Emergency roof repair. Old steel found with holes from ice buildup. Contractor removed steel, removed and replaced damage wood. Replaced steel with new that I had from a previous job and chalked where necessary to seal.
