Finally they said they’d refund the $215 which included $15 in cash because their guy told me how much to write the check for and left out the taxes – so I gave that part to him in cash. They told me I would get it all back. When I got only the check and not the $15, I called and once again was assured I would get the $15 in the mail. Then James called and left me a voicemail - gave me a song and dance how I was put before so many people on such a cold day, and they did me such a favor, and were so wonderful, and he refunded the $200 as a courtesy, and it just wouldn’t be worth it for them to do all the paperwork it would take to refund me my $15. REALLY JAMES?!!!!

I have been using Henderson Plumbing and heating for 10 yrs since I moved to Copiague. I've never had a problem til now I had them scheduled to come over 11/14/17 to install a whistle valve on my oil tank. They never showed up I've called them numerous times left detailed messages since then with no response. I called them again on the 24th and they did call back left me a message returned the call since then and haven't gotten a response. I've used them numerous times in the past and never had a problem before til now. I mean if they were busy or if I wasn't a priority I understand that but by them not showing up I haven't been able to get a oil delivery due to the defective valve. At least call me and say what happened or they're too busy etc.....very disappointed

Our heating system broke down in the middle of the night. So we called to this firm to hire them. The girl who answered ,seamed nice. We told her about our problem and said that we have a little baby in the house. Our daughter is year and half old. So we needed to get it done right away,cuz outside still is cold at daytime,but nights is even colder. This girl promised that someone will come over the same day from 10am -2pm... So we waited,waited,waited until 2pm... No call,no promised specialist. At 2pm my husband called just to find out what is going on. This firm didn't pick up the phone,so my husband left the message to call him back for an update. Well,nobody called us back and Nobody came. First of all we waisted our day,didn't go to work,waited for them to come and fix the problem. Not only nobody came,but no one even returned the call. Well,thanks to this firm now we will not have heat tonight either and we have a little baby in the cold house. We would have found another firm if we would know how unprofessional this firm is. Very disappointed and left with bad taste in the mouth. I'm not recommending to anybody.

Bathroom sink faucet handles had worn down an unexpectedly broken. Although ever effort was made to fix and attempts made to replace with new faucet, in the end this company very honestly had to tel us the holes to the faucet were not standard size (hence, no standard replacement faucet would fit) AND the original owner/installer had for some unknown reason cemented the back of the pedestal sink to the wall tile! Yikes! Needless to say, after a lot of dedicated time spent trying figuring what some prior contractor had done ridiculously wrong... we were advised honestly and professionally there wasn't an easy fix (as we called them thinking there was). The hard work and honesty that went into this company's efforts to take apart the old faucet and sink were genuinely appreciated. We would hire them again in an instant! Thank you! (Ps. This review was written closer to the date service performed but for some reason never should up on Angie's List so we rewrote it :) Just wanted to make sure others knew we were very happy with this service!

I called James for a quote to replace my gas boiler. It took a couple weeks for us to finally set up a time for him to come over, he seemed very busy but was enthusiastic about getting the work. When he came over, he spent some time with me going over my options. By the time I met with him, I already got a bunch of quotes from other companies so I didn't have many questions for him. But he was very friendly and upbeat, and he said he'd "give me a good price". I didn't end up choosing him for the job for a few reasons. One was he felt so busy that he was in and out of the house within 10 minutes, and he didn't really seem too interested in the details. He also told me I would eventually need a chimney liner and gave me a quote from a friend of his for $1200 (meanwhile all other plumbers I had over said I would NOT need a chimney liner). The last reason I didn't go with him was because he said normally he doesn't show up on the day of the job. He writes down everything that needs done and has his crew take care of everything. I didn't feel comforable with that since I would end up having no idea who these people are or the quality of work that they do. So even though he did give me a decent price of $5600, I thought the quality of equipment and work were in question.

They didn't ever show up or call. I waited from 11:15 to 5:18. The receptionist called the next morning apologize even though it was not her fault. The owner neglected to show.

Henderson was ref'd to me from a realtor. We discussed the equipment options over the phone, they did an inspection and quoted the job. The boiler was installed a few days later. Overall the job was well done.

I was able to get a next day appointment. Very professional and were able to figure out the issue right away. Also installed a new thermostat for me.

Danny was the name of the technician and he was prompt, professional and very helpful. I was more than pleased with his service.

Danny showed up right on time. He got right to work and evaluated my situation to put in the new garbage disposal and give me some ideas. Estimate for work was 125.00. He called me about 1 hour later and told me price of the work to be done, 1000.00, which included the garbage disposal, the rerouting of plumbing that needed to be done and the installation. It was great that they called back and could do work the same day as this way I didn't have to take another day off from work. He came back later that same day and completed the work. He was very professional, clean (I remember he wiped the inside of the cupboard a bunch of times and put down a cloth on the floor before he began). The work was done quickly and precisely and we are very happy with the install. I have the electrician coming to hook up the rest as I didn't have power under the sink but will this week. The plumber arrived on the first day I called and determined the leak was under the slab and the slab needed to be broken up by jackhammer, after the wood flooring was removed from the slab. Plumber returned two days later after we had the flooring removed from the area. After the concrete was broken up the pieces were removed from the house followed by the sand beneath the slab and above the pipes was removed and stored outside. The exact location of the leak was found along with the root cause for the leak. There were two affected supply lines, both were replaced with new pipe and covered by insulation material to prevent a repeat of the leak. The sand was replaced along with additional sand to fully fill the voided area of the trench. Then a 4" layer of cement was put down the make the slab continuous and flat again, suitable for replacing the wood flooring. One plumber was on the job each day it was worked on, on parts of two days a second plumber came in to assist. In all the job took three days to complete the work. The plumbing technicians worked steadily and neatly as possible under the conditions of having to use a jackhammer indoors.

Our kitchen faucet broke on Sunday morning. Henderson was the only plumber that said that we could get an appointment that day. They called back, as promised. The plumber (Andrew) called and let us know exactly what time he would be arriving. He was on time and the work was completed quickly and efficiently. We would definitely recommend using Henderson Plumbing.

I called them on Sunday, they called me back within the hour and came the next day as I was told after many failed attempts with other plumbers( non "Angie's" plumbers). They came within the window of time and were very friendly and helpful. They recommended a cesspool company and they were just as prompt and professional. I would highly recommend this company. They showed up on time and well within the window promised. They provided same day service without an up charge. The night before we had ran the shower in the upstairs master bathroom, and it was draining very slowly, and then there was a large leak coming from the downstairs half bath on the other side of the house. We feared we had a leak in the drain pipe, but after repairing a worn gasket behind the drain toggle, there was no more leak. They also snaked the drain for us. We fully expected this to be a very expensive and in depth repair, but they were very honest about what the problem likely was, and it turned out to simply be a worn rubber gasket. We're very glad to have called them and will certainly use them again in the future.

His workman came early in the day, as I had requested. He was polite and professional. He took the old toilet out with no mess to on any floor. He quickly and expertly put in the new one. He cleaned up after himself and left with a handshake. Couldn't ask for a better job.

Originally scheduled for Jay to come in the AM, and due to weather, sent Ed in the AM to take care of the hot water circulator, and later on, Jay came to repair toilet bowl repair. Both guys were professional, courteous, and caring about their work. I must say the owner, Jim, must be proud of these guys, and well he should be. They were on time, delivered exactly as promised and were pleasant at all times. it happens that I asked for this service on Friday in the afternoon, and they responded within 30 minutes after my inquiry. Jay came and gave a free estimate, and the numbers were exactly as stated. They sent Ed in the morning because Jay had to be more than 25 miles from here at that time, so they wanted to at least get the hot water repaired, and then come back either later or another day of our choosing to complete the toilet. I recommend James Henderson Plumbing and Heating. My first experience was excellent.
