Description of Work: We had used Mike Falk in 2008 to inspect the electrical service in a house we were purchasing. He did a great job so when our standby generator failed, I called him for advice. He told me he would be happy to look at it but gave me several items to check before making a service call. It turned out to be a dead battery which I replaced. Later, a single mother friend called us for a referral for an electrical problem. We gave her Mike's phone number and even though she didn't live close, he went to her house, found the problem and repaired it at a very reasonable price.

Description of Work: I had an issue with the main circuit breaker. I called Mike and he was willing to make a service call when others would not. The power company pulled my meter and would not replace it until the breaker was replaced, Mike fixed the problem and waited over an hour for the power company to come back and replace the meter and did not charge me. I would definitely recommend Falkland Electric.

Description of Work: This job was to install a bathroom vent fan and switch. We've hired Falk Electric several times over the last couple of years to make updates to our 1959 home. These updates have included installing a new electric panel box and running gas lines for new appliances. Falk Electric has also completed work for our family and friends after hearing about the great work and customer service we've consistently received. We will definitely continue to work with Falk Electric while we're tackling our remodel projects.

Description of Work: Mike upgraded our service from 60A to 200A residential service. This included running the cable from the street to the house, replacing the service box, and making connections to all the existing lines. | |Mike is meticulous and very knowledgable and took a lot of time to explain the options we were considering. We would absolutely hire him again and recommend him highly. His prices are high, but the quality is superb.

Description of Work: Mike was very professional and knowledgeable. He taught us about everything we were interested in learning about. We had him for 2 days and he tackled rewiring our old breaker box, installing new electric lines, waterproofing the outdoor main breaker lines, adding new outlets, trouble shooting tricky ancient electric wiring jobs, brought outlets up to standard safety requirements. He taught us about how to do some jobs ourselves and offered valuable input on areas that we had no knowledge. We definately will call Mike again. He is a trusted professional who believes in quality and safety. A very excellent choice. A++++.

+ -1 moreMike provided excellent service. He was knowledgeable and fully explained everything he planned to do to implement the project, pros/cons of alternatives. The installation was professional and organized. The inspection was very smooth with complements from the inspector on the quality of work. We've had a lot of work done in our "fixer upper" and Mike has been one of the few contractors that we hired and had no regrets about.
Description of Work: Have used Mike's services on a few occasions. The most recent cited here was having an electric sub-panel and generator connection added to our existing system.

+ -1 moreThe contractor failed to consult with the owner about how he was going to do the work before he completed it, and as a result I had to pay to have him redo part of it. I think he's a very talented man. I'm just not really sure why he made the decision to do what he did.

+ -1 moreMike came in and through the process of elimination, found the problem was with a wall outlet (on the same circuit) twelve feet away that had a burned connection. Since this wall outlet was behind a china cabinet that never gets moved, it could have possibly overheated and led to an electrical fire in the future. Mike further rewired my entire four switch gang light switch box explaining that the way it was wired originally is not accepted practice today. He made sure everything was up to code and working. Not a quick job, he was here over two hours and made sure everything was right. I was impressed that he took care to cut around every wall plate with a utility knife so as to not pull any paint off the wall when he removed the cover. He takes attention to detail. Very pleasant man well mannered and very professional.
Description of Work: After installing an automatic digital light switch, I had a circuit that refused to work, even with circuit breaker in on position. Something had gone wrong with the installation with the new switch and I could not figure it out.
