The job was slow because of the weather; it rained a lot. They kind of worked in between spells of bad weather but once they started they did a great job. Their quote was very thorough and I felt that was good. I will use them again in the future.
Description of Work: I used Covenant Contracting to work on my roof, chimney and decks.

The project took about a full month, and the contractor never abandoned the job, sometimes working well into the night with an LED light on his head. New surprises were communicated clearly, and at the contractors urging, I went onto the roof personally to inspect the work. The tear off included two layers of asphalt and the original slate roof, which was shattered beneath, and removal of all debris. The entire deck was re-sheeted w/ 7/16" OSB as underlayment. The 19th century yankee gutters were covered with .060 gr rubber membrane roofing. Ice and water shield was installed on all drip eaves, and custom made aluminum edging was installed on all rake and drip edges. #15 felt paper was installed on all exposed wood decking, and new aluminum flashing was installed on all pipes and the two chimneys. 30-year Tamko architectural shingle was installed. The work site was combed clean at the end of each work day. Window sills on the dormers had rotted and required replacement. As additional rot was found on the window frames, we elected to undertake a complete restoration, in addition to the roof. Removal of an ugly vinyl soffit revealed the original 1894 roof ballustrade around the entire periphery of the roof, which we elected to re-cover, insulate, and protect, pending future restoration. In addition, we elected to coat flat areas of the roof not included in the original estimate and to replace storm windows. We also replaced a corroded steel apron. Few roofers in Buffalo can do such an elaborate roof, and most other estimates underestimated the complexity of the task.
Description of Work: This was a complete tear off and replacement of an elaborate unwalkable roof on a 6000 sq ft., two and half story 19th century historic home with 13 dormers in a preservation district. In addition, we relined the yankee gutter, undertook extensive restoration work on the dormer windows, including residing them, and we replaced corroded metal, and storm windows.
