Class Carpet Floor & Home

I used Class based off of strong Angie's list ratings, but that was definitely not the case for me. Initially the process went fine, the employees seemed pleasant and the installers showed up on time. The problems arose when I noticed shortly after the installers left that the wrong padding was installed. I was very clear when I ordered the carpeting that I wanted the best padding because the carpet sits on concrete slab which gets very cold in the winter, in addition quality padding extends the life of the carpet. The upgrade was noted on my invoice, I was charged for the higher end padding, but was given a cheaper pad. (Maybe an honest error, but I am not so sure after speaking to a very defensive owner.) When I spoke with the owner Alex he tried to convince me that I got the right padding for the kind of carpet I had installed,and then told me that he already given me some mysterious discount ( which was an absolute lie),no discount was noted on the invoice. After a back and forth he then offered me 87.00 for my troubles. Apparently according to his math the difference in price between the two pads. When I requested a 200 refund he called me "unethical". Apparently overcharging someone for a product they did not receive and hoping they do not notice is okay though? Not exactly "class". In the end I was refunded 125.00 which I reluctantly agreed to not because I thought it was a fair amount,but because I have a difficult schedule and was tired of dealing with it. It would have been far more costly for them to do a complete re-install. On top of those issues the installers had to come back and tighten the carpet on the steps after staples began to pop out. The only reason I did not give straight "F's" is because some of the employees I encountered in this ordeal were pleasant. I would not recommend or if you take your chances make sure you get what you order.

have had several experiences with carpet and floor establishments, some good and one terrible but I have to say that Class Carpet is hands down the best I have ever dealt with. Alex is the consummate professional. He will work with you within your budget and give you the best possible deal. A great selection, prompt service and his installer Manny is meticulous from perpetration to clean up. I can't recommend them high enough. So good in fact we are having them back to install additional flooring and fix a floor installed by a less then reputable company. (see my reviews to find out who).

We used Class Carpet and Floors to refinish our hardwood floors. Additionally, our kitchen had gross linoleum on it so we wanted to replace it with hardwood floors. As new homeowners, we wanted to try to save as much money as possible so we hoped there was hardwood under the linoleum we could revive. We contacted Class Carpet and Floors and they sent out an employee to take a look. Half of our kitchen (the dining part) had hardwood floors and the other half did not. We were able to set up an appointment for a few weeks after our initial consultation. Because we have a young child we did not want the forever smelling and VOC full oil based finish. Class Carpet provided us with a water-based finish, no problem. Our schedule was somewhat tight so we needed the job done in as few amount of days as possible. The crew started on a Wednesday and ended on a Saturday right within our requested schedule. Although we stayed at our parents during the job, we checked in a few times a day for updates and to bring lunch (we're Italian! we like to feed everyone!) I can't believe how much work was involved in removing the linoleum floor. It was unbelievable how many nails and staples were on the plywood under the linoleum. Once we saw the old oak floors under the linoleum, it was honestly, kind of scary. Who knows how long they were under that linoleum. They were so dark and had holes from the staples. Before moving forward, we spoke with their employee about whether we wanted to replace the old floor or have him try to the best of his ability to match the new and old floor. We really needed to save some money as new homeowners and parents, so we chose the latter. I honestly did not believe it could be done, but they were able to match the floors. You can see the pictures and progress. The crew did a great job in the rest of the house by leveling out and refinishing the new floors to match the old. I am so happy with the floors. I also love the way the water-based finish looks versus the old oil-based finish. It looks so much more modern with the natural finish. Originally, I thought we would have to replace all of the floors to get that modern look, but I think it looks great now....Property Brothers approved ;). We did all of our upstairs including the kitchen, dining area, living room, hallway, stairs, and three bedrooms. Also, they helped with moving the furniture that my husband and I could not. They broke apart and put together the bigger items for us (e.g. bed set) so we did not have to. They ensured plastic was put over just about everything to ensure the sawdust did not get everywhere. However, not as a critique to them, saw dust seems to get in places you never imagined. It's inevitable. So, if you refinish your floors, be prepared to clean up dust in various nooks and crannies. We are trying to remodel little by little, so next will be bathrooms. We will be going back to Class Carpet and Floors for that as well. We'll also be coming back to get a floor carpet for under the table in the dining area. They are apparently 50% off which is great for our budget. Overall, great company who did a excellent job on our floors, were pleasant and professional to work with, and the price was very reasonable considering all of the work they did. I highly recommend.

Class carpet sent 2 workers to do the work. The new floors look fantastic in the office. It took almost 3 days to get the job done because the flooring underneath the carpeting was such a mess. It needed so much patchwork. The workers were fast and prompt. They worked hard and got the job done quickly. The new floors are very durable and easy to clean. We see 85-90 patients a day and have a lot of foot traffic. The floors were done in December and they look just as good as the first day. Class carpet has been nothing but fantastic. From the initial phone call, their staff has been amazing. Kevin and Alex practice exceptional customer service skills and they were always there to help. They came several times and brought a selection of different flooring colors so that we could choose the perfect fit for the office.

This is the second time using Class Carpet after an excellent earlier experience with a fairly similar job. The team were professional, punctual and the end result is exactly what we wanted. We would highly recommend using Class Carpet.

Went there to look for carpet. Though I told the salesman I wanted nylon he kept pushing other materials on me. Also told me he would upgrade my padding for free. When I asked to what, he said to the 6 pound padding. I asked what they normally used, he said the 4.5 pound padding. Now I had done my research already. NO ONE uses anything less then 6 pound padding with a plush carpet. 6 pound is the min industry standard. And then they make it sound like they are throwing in the upgrade for free. Sorry they aren't getting my business.

Estimator came at time promised, had samples of carpets very business like, while it was a small job he gave all the time required to explain removal and installation of product. Installers came at day and time promised, removed carpet, installed new product and cleaned area , a very professional job..

Everything went great. Alex, the owner, help us every step of the way. He never tried to push expensive products on us. We told him what we were looking for, and he helped us pick out the materials within our price range. The installation process went perfect. Alex's installers were professional, respectful, neat and overall did an excellent job. Our floors look beautiful!! I would definitely recommend this company to anyone looking for quality flooring and rugs.

Initially stopped in to store and chose a carpet - they came and measured - and upon review - we chose a different carpet at similar quality for far cheaper, they were extremely helpful (probably wound up saving a third off the price)- Service was excellent from beginning to end. Definite recommend.

It went very smoothly. The work was done exactly as promised in a very professional manner.

The work was perfect, the installers cleaned up, the price was as quoted, there was no nonsense. They removed old tiles, installed linoleum in the kitchen, and carpeting on the stairs and in a foyer.

They did an amazing job from start to finish and did a phenomenal job!! We just purchased our first home and it needed some updating. Especially the floors and they made my house feel like a home with refinishing my beautiful hardwood floors that was under the original 40 year old rugs!! Alex and Kevin are nothing but wonderful! I would recommend them to anyone and we will be using them again for our dining room and upstairs bedrooms soon!!o

I have to get a refund because they don't do small jobs, nor do they work in Somerset County New Jersey. The offer didn't state it was only for large jobs, and Somerset County was listed as a location they serve.

My husband and I wanted laminate tile for our kitchen, laminate wood for our living room and dining room, and carpet for a hallway and stairs. We got estimates from the big box stores, a small local store, an independent contractor, and Alex at Class Carpet. Alex?s quote was much lower than the big box stores, and was in line with the quote from our local store. We met Alex and Sima at their store in Levittown, where they have a huge selection of all types of flooring and carpet. After discussing what we were looking for and our budget, Alex showed us some samples. He gave us helpful suggestions on which brands were the best value, and was very easy to talk to. We really appreciated that Alex was willing to work with us on the costs to keep the job within our budget. Alex came to our house to measure, and the installer, Manny, also came by the house to assess the job. Alex then gave us a very reasonable quote, and we decided to hire him based on his responsiveness and overall professionalism. Alex, Sima, and Manny were all quick to return my calls, and were happy to answer all our questions before the work started, and as the job progressed. Scheduling the work was a breeze, and Manny and his crew showed up exactly on time each day as planned, and got right to work. They moved our furniture and pulled up the very old carpet/floors efficiently and without complaint. They did an excellent job installing the new floors and carpet, and left our home clean and neat when they were done. Alex kept in touch with me during the project, and he made sure everything was done to our satisfaction before we made the final payment. We are very happy with the job, and the floors/carpet look great! Class Carpet is highly recommended. I will definitely hire them again in the future.

Excellent service from estimate through installation!

We drove to Levittown to a very unassuming store, but were pleasantly surprised with the friendliness of Alex, the owner and his son, Kevin. This is a family owned store with a huge selection of carpet and they will work with your budget. They made recommendations, but never tried to push us to buy something we didn't want. Kevin even suggested that we look through the remnants for carpeting our stairs to save some money. Alex came on time to take the measurements and we placed the order for the carpeting. The work had to be done on two separate days a week apart be cause of moving the contents of wall units, etc. so that the furniture could be moved, and Alex was totally agreeable and didn't charge anything extra for two visits. The two different installment teams were polite and professional and did a great job and left everything neat and clean. We are so pleased with the carpet and the great service, that we thought a good review was definitely deserved. We will definitely recommend Class Carpet to family and friends who want good carpeting at a fair price. It was truly a pleasant experience doing business with Alex.

Alex, the owner was very responsive to our needs and budget (we are selling) and did not try to push a more expensive carpet or padding. He showed us exactly what we were looking for; I was quite impressed with his knowledge, his easy going manner and ability to know exactly what we needed. He even gave us samples and came the same day to measure. We needed a lot of carpet and he had to order additional carpeting, it arrived exactly as he said; in a week. He also was very willing to accommodate our schedule and arranged for installation at our convenience. The installers were prompt and obviously very experienced. This was a big job, which they completed in a timely manner and cleaned up as they went along.

Alex and his team were great. They were very clean, quick and thorough. They installed a new carpet plus pad in our attic. They were very careful around the floor moldings and baseboards. I've already rehired them for a second job.

The owner's name is Alex and they are excellent across the board. They have even given us quotations for hardwood flooring, which we have not gone through yet, but we will. They are very well priced and the guy knows his stuff as far as quality carpet. He is excellent and the installers were great as well. It is quality broadloom carpet. It is not $40 per square yard, but it is a quality name brand. It has stainmaster and stuff in there.

They were really quick at installation, and Alex was very helpful and great to work with.

Bought the deal on Angie's. Went to their warehouse to pick out the carpet and make a deposit. Alex then came to our home to measure the room and work out the price and schedule a date for the installation. Installers came within the chosen window of time. They did a great job removing the old carpet and pad and were very careful installing the new carpet. Baseboards did not suffer any damage at all. Job was done clean and neat. They didn't rush it. Would go back again.

Alex and Kevin and the crew that installed were great. I came in to the showroom, picked out carpeting. Alex came to measure (yes, right then). We scheduled the carpet installation for the next day. It looks beautiful. I will definitely use them again
