Best Way Chimney

This is the second time within a year we used Best Way. The previous year they repaired and relined the main chimney. We were completely satisfied at that time and therefore used them again this year for the fireplace chimney.

After Hurricane Sandy we had some damage to our house, including the roof. The person we had repairing the roof said that our chimney had problems too and we needed a chimney specialist. I found Best Way on Angie's List while my wife checked with friends for references, and they used and highly recommended Best Way. My wife spoke with them Friday afternoon and scheduled a visit for the next day between 10am and 12. They arrived a little after 10 am Saturday morning. My wife met with the two specialists while I was out, stuck on a gasoline line. I was worried that they may try to sell her on something we didn't need or talk gibberish in order to make a big job out of something little. Neither my wife nor I have no knowledge about chimneys or liners or anything of the sort so we could have been told anything and would have had to accept it, especially when the roofer said there was problems. Well, the two gentlemen were absolutely excellent. They examined the chimney completely and found nothing wrong. They explained to my wife that there is always a bit of sway in a chimney and ours was not out of the ordinary. The bricks and mortar were intact. So all we needed was the chimney cap replaced that was torn off by the hurricane. They provided a nice stainless steel chimney cap with a lifetime warranty and installed for what I think is an outstanding value. I highly recommend Best Way - completely professional, extremely friendly, punctual, and quite a value.

This was the first contractor we hired based on Angie's List reviews. We were extremely pleased with the quality and professionalism of the company. Roger, who happens to be the owner of the company, was the person who came to do the work on our house. This is probably the only time that we experienced an owner coming to do the actual job! We have oil-burning heat, so our job required no masonry work. We did though have a brand-new liner installed because the previous one was meant for a gas-burning heater. We also replaced our chimney cap and chimney-surround, which looks exactly like real brick, but is actually made of sheet metal. I would highly recommend using this product as it is a great alternative to real brick and mortar. Overall, Best Way Chimney is a great company. Roger was very considerate and respectful of our home. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for an honest answer to their chimney issues.

These guys are awesome ! They actually put my fireplace flue on it's track , inspected all three items and told me I needed to work performed . They gave me the Anges List voucher number and instructed me to call for a credit as I needed no work .. I highly recommend this company !

The entire experience was fantastic. My wife and I have been in our home for four (4) years. Our home was built in 1981, and we are the third owners. The last owners didn't know when the chimney was last cleaned, and they had lived here 15 years, so I know I had some work ahead of me. I came here on Angie's List and called one company. They came, did some work and gave me an estimate. I called Best Way Chimney, spoke with Roger (owner) and he arranged a date and time that was convenient for me in order to give me an estimate. Unlike the other company, he and a professional employee came in a clean truck, were polite, and spent 20-30 minutes surveying the chimney, inside and out with photos. Upon inspection, he showed me how the other company didn't even clean my chimney! He wrote up an estimate that was a few hundred dollars lower than the first company. Between that and his professionalism and candor/honesty, I knew he was going to be "my chimney guy". A day after the visit, I called and scheduled the work. He was available before I was but we scheduled a date which was 9/26/12. I had to work, but my wife was home. He arrived when he said he would, and showed my wife what he was going to do, and when he was done, took my wife on a small tour of the results. My wife loved him and if my wife loves someone, then all is good. I came home, saw what was done, and am extremely happy with the results. Roger also changed the configuration of the exhaust pipes by my burner so I could easily see the cleanliness of the exhaust pipe. I have already referred Roger to my father, who will be calling him, likely in the next few weeks. I am a small business owner myself, and it's reassuring to find people like Roger (owner/operator) in this day and age; I spoke to him before the work, he did the estimate, and he did the work. I like that. Thank you very much for your work and quality, price, and demeanor. A nice guy. If you need work on your chimney, call Roger. He is my "go to" chimney guy from now on.

He was honest, efficent and clean. He was very nice to work with. He took care of everything and I really liked him.

I was seeing some wisps of smoke and detected an odor when the oil burner started. The tech was late in arriving due to weather conditions that caused his schedule to slip. He called to explain and when he did arrive he did an excellent job of explaining everything. He found nesting materials the had totally clogged the chimney, vacumming completely and pointing a couple of small cracks in the chimney where it met the house. He also explained that the chimney cap that was installed was not adequate, allowing for birds and squirrels to nest. He installed a new cap that would prevent a recurrence of the situation. I am very happy with the work provided and would call them again if I needed additional services.

I purchased an "Angie Big Deal" for a furnace/chimney cleaning and a dryer vent cleaning. I had never had either done since we bought our house so I figured that it was probably time. Roger arrived with another worker and after a brief question & answer period about would be done, they got right down to work. Roger dealt with our chimney, while the other person cleaned the dryer vent. They were very efficient and worked quickly. They were pleasant and answered all my questions...especially why they pulling dead birds out of my chimney! The work appeared well done. However, they did a did a mediocre job of cleaning up after themselves. I found a plastic bag and balls of lint lying around after they left. Also, they cracked some of the slats on the plastic vent from the dryer located outside the house. When I called them about it. Roger was great and immediately offered to repair the damage. He did at my convenience and, instead of repairing the slats, he replaced the entire vent at no charge. I also found a coupon online which they honored without hesitation. I would use them again.

I agreed to do the work and was very happy. Years ago another company tried to sell me a liner but I didn't feel it was needed then. These people came across as very professional and genuine. I would have no hesitation using them again.

I called for appointment to get chimney, fireplace and dryer vent cleaned. Having moved into this house about a year ago wasn't sure if any problems existed. They arrived a few minutes early and got straight to work. Everything was cleaned out. No problems were found. I knew I needed a new cap on the chimney and had them install one. The cap and their work is guaranteed. There was no mess left behind. I was very pleased.

Roger arrived on time, was very pleasant, got right to work and left the house CLEAN. Suggested some improvements (chimney caps and better flashing) but didn't give me the hard sell, which was appreciated.

His name was Roger. He was excellent. He was a very nice guy. He even moved my dryer for me. The price was excellent. He was a very nice human being. He was good on being on time. I would use him again and I would recommend him.

Two people came on the date and time they said they would. They removed the pipe from the oil burner to the chimney and installed the proper connection to the s/steel liner. Therewas some problem installing the connecting pipe because of some foundation concrete blocking the installion of the pipe but they had the right tools to fix the problem. Finishing the job they cleaned everything . I would not hesitate to recommend BESTWAY CHIMNEY to whoever needed this type of work done. They are the best!

Called Best Way to come and replace a spin cap (turbine) that we had on our chimney that was squeaking. He explained that it wasn't necessary for our type of chimney to have a spin cap (turbine) and that they were used primarily for short chimney situations. Our house is very tall and we were sold by another chimney company the complete opposite story. I thought he was just coming to give a quote and make an appointment after he took a look at the chimney. He was ready and took care of everything very quickly. It was a very pleasant experience. The office was very pleasant when I spoke to them. Roger called back and took plenty of time to explain why and how the turbine caps work and what he could do for me. When he showed up he was pleasant and friendly and all was very relaxed and done smoothly and efficiently. We have quiet chimney caps and no longer bothering the neighbors or us!

This company gave the best estimate. They arrived on time and were very friendly. They worked neatly and efficiently. I would give them one piece of advice for the future. If you claim to give a senior citizen discount of ten percent it should be clearly marked. Don't say it was already subtracted after the fact.I would use them again if I need this service.

Sorry to have taken about 6 months to get around to this review but we had health crisis in family that took priority. This job was for my parents' house and am pretty sure the chimney had never been looked at in the 30 years they owned it.. The chimney appeared as though a strong wind would easily blow it over so we needed to get the job done as soon as possible. Roger came over to evaluate our needs and give estimate very soon after we called. He also offered a few options as far as how we could have the chimney finished including the most cost efficient. We never felt pressured to go with more expensive options. In fact, the opposite was true. We feel he is very honest and really looks out for what is best for the customer. We highly recommend and would hire Best Way again in a heartbeat. Roger was very personable as well as professional. Came in with reasonable estimate and no surprises . We felt comfortable hiring him to do the work. They showed up on time and got the job done very efficiently. Cleaned up after the work and even gave advice as to how we could save more money on heating bill. We are moving to a new home soon and look forward to hiring Best Way to check the chimney and fireplace for safety and repair if necessary. Thank you Roger and Best Way! I got estimates from several companies on repairing the stucco work and flue on my chimney. Roger was extremely professional and gave us the best price for the services. When he came for the estimate, he looked at the gas burner and water heater in the basement. He found an abandoned bird nest and even removed that for us. When we were ready to book an appointment for the work, he was here within 2 days. They did a beautiful job of cleaning up the stucco work and left us with a chimney that will never need flue maintanence again. I highly recommend their services.

He did a nice job. They had the lowest estimate. I had no complaints. They came when they said they would. They also did a little bit of patching of the chimney and everything turned out okay. I had no problems. I was very much impressed with them.

They came for an estimate, and I liked what they said, and liked the price, so I hired him to do the job on the spot. He was fair and reasonable. He wasn't pushy, and we are having him do more work for us.

Roger got there at the alotted time. He was extremely nice and professional. I originally thought that I would have to knock down the chimney and put in a new one. However Roger told me that it wasn't necessary. All that was needed was a liner which would stop moisture/expansion from going decaying chimney. He also went so far as to repair some areas that were decayed and he did not charge me for it. I will definitely use them again in the future.Not only was his service great, but the people who answered the phone were extremely polite and understanding.

They were wonderful. They were very personable, on time, and were professional. They were nice guys. I had also tried another chimney company about a year ago for chimney cleaning and they told me I needed whole new liners which would cost $1,000 but when these guys came they said I did not need any liner. They were really honest. I loved them and will use them again.

Very pleasant group of people to work with. Roger came by shortly after the initial contact and gave us an estimate. The estimate was very reasonable. The work was delayed a week by the weather, but that's how things go. The completed work looks very good and comes with a warranty. Happy to recommend Best Way to others.
