From the start I got a good feeling this company was aces. Roger called thirty minutes before he arrived. Very professional. He showed up on time and within the scheduled time. He did not rush and answered all the questions I had about the chimney. He made some recommendations but stated that these items were not pressing. He also stated that the chimney did not require cleaning at this time. Extremely professional, honest and reliable. I wish everyone was like this. He did not charge me a dime. I will definitely recommend him to everyone I know and call him next year.

On 3/4/2014, I contacted Best Way Chimney and spoke with Cindy. It was a pleasant surprise to actually speak with a live person, not to mention someone as pleasant and courteous as Cindy. I told her about a problem in my basement: a continuous leak, located over my hot water tank and adjacent to a chimney. Earlier that day, a plumber had checked that area and had advised me that it was not a plumbing issue. He suggested that the cause might be related to the chimney or the roof. Cindy could tell how upset I was and scheduled an appointment for me the following morning. The next day Roger arrived on schedule. After checking the area he immediately determined that the leak was not being caused by anything involving the chimney. He was confidant that it was a plumbing issue and recommended that I contact a different plumber. Roger refused to charge me for a service call, despite the time he spent at my house. To further illustrate the kind of company Best Way Chimney is, later in the day Roger telephoned me and asked whether the issue had been resolved. I informed him that it had been, that he had been correct in his estimation of the cause. The second plumbing company I contacted, this one found on Angie's List, determined that the problem was a pin hole leak in the domestic hot water line. Although, this time I did not need Best Way's services, I will definitely use them in the future for anything related to the chimney and will recommend them to all of my friends and relatives. I am very grateful to Cindy and Roger for their professionalism and kindness.

Roger and assistant installed liner, gained as much extra height in the basement (by removing brick and relocating entry point) in order to lift heating units off the floor, pointed loose brick around the crown of the chimney, installed stainless plate as well as chimney cap. The work looks impeccable and functions without flaw. Roger flexed his schedule to make certain I could be present for the completion of the work to help me understand the details of his work and provided pictures via email. I do not part easily with money and it is rare for me to feel content with work that I have contracted out. This is a rare case when I feel I got more than I paid for and supported a kind and honest man and his family in the process. Can't lose with this guy!

Roger and Joe came. Very nice and polite gentlemen. Roger checked the fireplace first and said all was good. Then he went and checked the pipe for the burners. He said the draft was fine. and.. Didnt charge us a cent.. I would highly recommend this company to all who see this review. I too will be calling Roger in the future. I called him lastnight and he re arranged his schedule to be able to come to us this morning as we are anticipating more snow this evening. Who else would do that?? Thank you Roger and Joe

Roger and John are both very professional and honest. The difference with this company and others besides a great price is that your dealing with a great human element. They have great integrity and I knew from reading past reviews and from meeting them I was going to be well taken care of. They evaluated my needs and because I converted to natural gas they confirmed that I needed a new chimney liner. They determined the size needed and also saved me money doing that. The price they quoted was the price they charged no upsell or add ons. I was very impressed by their operation and would never hesitate to reccomend them. They also installed a chimney cap.

I had Roger come by for an estimate and then service on the chimney at my parent's house. Service included cleaning the chimney and installing a stainless steel liner. I could not have been more impressed with the level of service provided by Roger and the quality of his work. He is very professional and personable. For both the estimate and the service, he was on time. Communication with the main office was also great. I would highly recommend Roger and Best Way Chimney and would not hesitate to use them again in the future at both my parent's house and my own home.

Cleaned chimney and riser from boiler

I called Roger to clean my chimney. After inspecting it, he said it was in great shape and did not need to be cleaned. He spent some time discussing the fireplace and ideas for renovating it in the future. Roger said there was no charge for the visit (was at our home for about 45 minutes) and refused to accept any money. I highly recommend him for his integrity and plan to use him in the future when service/repairs are needed.

I called several servicemen whose estimates were very high because the inside of the chimney had unusual configurations rather than going straight down. I decided to become a member of Angie's list to reseach a reputable, highly rated contractor. We'll. . . I hit the jackpot!! Initially, "BEST WAY CHIMNEY" gave me an estimate over the phone. He viewed my chimney on GOOGLE and made an appointment to come to my home on November 30th, 2013. Roger Hollderlin was prompt, professional, however, he didn't expect the challenge he was confronted with. He explained that the lining could not pass straight down the chimney because of the interior configuration that was unusual. Therefore, he had to remove several bricks in three different areas in order to complete the job properly. His work was so precise that you could not tell the bricks were removed or replaced. He worked several hours with his partner and said he would return with equipment he needed on December 4th. to complete the job. Even though he added a second day and several hours more, he insisted that the estimate would remain the same. I have been in business for over 40 years in Nassau County and have never encounted a man of his integrity and work ethics. I will not only use Roger in the future, I expect to inform all my associates that an honorabler contractor is available. What a find!!

They were prompt and extremely polite. They inspected the fireplace chimney and told me that it was in good shape and did not require cleaning, but there was snow coming down the chimney. After going onto the roof he noticed that the chimney lining was too short. He said it was nothing to worry about now, it could be fixed in the spring. He also said the oil burner chimney was also in good shape, but that the oil burner could use a tuneup. I told him that I sometimes get smoke in the room when the fireplace is first lit...he told me that is because the chimney is cold so all I have to do is light up some newspaper and hold it up the flue to warm the chimney.(which we did later on and it worked like a charm). After all this, when I asked how much I owed him, he said I didn't owe anything...he said they really didn't do anything, so there was no charge! I thanked him and said I would definitely call him in the spring. I highly recommend this company...true professionals on every level!

I called them to clean & inspect 2 fireplaces and chimneys which had not been used in over 5 years. The woman that took my call was very pleasant and professional, and told me it would be $79 for each fireplace/vhimney. Two weeks later two workmen arrived promptly at the scheduled time. They checked both fireplaces and informed me that only one fireplace and chimney needed cleaning, the other was fine and ready for use. They were quick, very neat, and very professional. I would call them again.

I set up my appt with Best Way telling them that it had to be after 330 as I had to pick my son up from school. That day my son was late. Best Way called saying they were at my home. I apologized saying I would be there in about 20 minutes. I got home and they were gone which was my fault entirely. 10 minutes later they were back to perform the work. In the past ( I'm talking.at least 20 years). The chimney sweep would head up to the roof and start sweeping. Best Way went inside first and inspected the chimney from the bottom. The man said " You don't need a cleaning. The interior walls are spotless with no signs of build up). He started to pack up and I asked how much I owed him for his trouble. He told me " No charge". I asked him to check my burner chimney and he inspected it and said that it was also clean. Again no charge. So to recap, I was late, they came back to my house, inspected both chimneys and wouldn't take a dime. For the passed 20 years I have been paying upward of 70$ induing the hard sell of " We should replace your chimney caps, we can repoint your mortar, etc.... I cannot express how delighted I was to deal with Best Way. I will be calling again to have so eventing work taking care of.

After receiving multiple estimates to replace the top 4 rows of bricks on my chimney, I called Roger based on his exceptional reviews in Angie's List. He came and much to my surprise, told me that the rows of bricks did not need replacement as the chimney could be pointed instead. He explained that the mortar on the top of the chimney had eroded as well and that one of the flues had no cap. He provided a very reasonable estimate to complete the entire job. Unfortunately, our initial appointment had to be cancelled due to the excessive heat we were experiencing at the time. When he was able to reschedule, he arrived while nobody was home, completed the entire job, and left an invoice. We are very happy with the work and would definitely use him again.

Came on time and called ahead. They came in and inspected our chimney. They informed me that my chimney didn't need a cleaning. Did not expect any payment. I would definitely use them again. Very honest.

I was very happy with the service. They had a reasonable price, he showed up on time, and was very professional. I will definitely call them again if I need more work done.

Roger came on time. He looked at the cracks on the chimney and told me that these are cosmetic and common for stucco surface. He went inside and checked my fireplace. He told me that the chimney was clean and did not need to be swept. He also turned on gas fireplace and made sure it worked properly. Everything was free of charge. He is very professional.
