Description of Work: Installed grab bars in our tub enclosure. Andy came over as soon as contacted to provide an estimate, arrived as scheduled to perform the work, provided a final bill in line with the estimate, and did a perfect job on the installation. We will be using him again.

Description of Work: Andy Kuzma was engaged to repair a custom-made storm door that had broken off its piano-type hinge. He successfully performed the work on 2/16/2013, saving us the cost and difficulty of having a new custom door made. Mr. Kuzma's work was professional and excellent, and he was punctual and easy to coordinate with. He is an old-fashioned workman in the highest and best sense, and I can recommend him without hesitation.

Description of Work: THIS COMPANY SHOULD BE TAKEN OFF YOUR LIST. I HIRED HIM TO PAINT 3 ROOMS. HE CHARGES $40 AN HOUR. AFTER 3 DAYS AND 30 HOURS I HAVE 1 AND 1/2 ROOMS DONE. THERE IS A REASON HE CHARGES BY THE HOUR. HE IS SLOW AND HE CLEANS HIS PAINT TOOLS IN MY KITCHEN SINK AND GOT STUFF ON MY FLOOR. HE LEFT THE JOB 1/2 DONE BECAUSE I TOLD HIM HOW I WANTED THE JOB DONE. BEWARE NEVER HIRE SOMEONE BY THE HOUR THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF. DON'T HIRE THIS MAN.

 + 4 moreMy wife wanted the basement finished for a long time but due to other priorities took a back seat. I found Andy to be fair, reasonable and honest and thank God because he is just the right kind of person we wanted to do our work. There are a gazillion people in this business and there is a difference. Andy works pretty much alone. He is detailed oriented, methodical and very, very neat. His work ethic is a lost art these days. If I hit lotto, I'd have him on staff. You won't regret any aspect of his abilities. He aims to please and give you what you want. Andy is a master craftsman and a gentleman.
Description of Work: The basement was a typical cellar with minor improvements to make it look finished by previous owners. Andy repaired all the minor hairline cracks with hydraulic cement and painted it with drylok. He insulated the walls and framed out the walls, closets and ran new wiring for lights and sheetrocked the walls and ceilings, spackled and taped all the seams that you can tell where they are. He used glue and screws everywhere to ensure a tight and snug adhesion.

He was prompt, informative, friendly, knowledgeable, and patient will all my questions, whether they were from lack of knowledge on the subject or curiosity. I certainly appreciated that, and would most certainly call upon Andy for future projects and help.
Description of Work: Various projects outside; eg, window re-caulking, re-staining back wooden stairs, caulking around side of house between concrete & house, patching some cracks on sidewalk, etc.

 + -1 moreVery well. Andy came soon after we contacted him, and was very helpful in helping us decide what to do. He was extremely prompt and worked straight through the days with no breaks. The level of workmanship was very high.. he is a master at plastering and fixing bumpy walls. His rescue of our rotted French door was amazing. I thought it was beyond fixing. The window trim upstairs were replaced and the sills repaired to look like new. Andy is a pleasure to deal with, having a wonderful optimistic personality.
Description of Work: Various projects around the house, such as repairing/ replacing rotted exterior window trim on 4 windows, repairing a rotted exterior French door and priming/ painting it, installing wallboard and 2x4's in the kitchen behind a dishwasher, running an electrical line off existing line for additional outlets, installing an access plate for a shut off valve being a wall, skim coating and priming kitchen walls to smoothen them out, and stripping/ priming an exterior front door ready for final painting, and repairing a large hole in upstairs wall.

Description of Work: Andy's Carpentry hung sheetrock in our bedroom. He removed the old plaster, hung new sheetrock, and painted the walls.

Description of Work: He patched a major piece of the kitchen wall, replaced soffits over the cabinets, replastered walls and provided plaster skim, and did interior painting. He also reattached a wood cabinet that was loose, removed and replaced baseboards, and caulked around a window.

Description of Work: He redid the clothes closet pole and part of a shelf. He spackled and primed 3 holes in my wall from electrical work and prepped for painting. I needed 2 new doors for my shed and he built them from scratch and hung them ($758).

 + 2 moreHe is so terrific. He's an extraordinary worker. He's conscientious and very clean. We first used him two years ago, and we were so pleased that when it came time to redo the walls and do the painting and detail work, we asked him to come over. He's super, and I am so pleased.
Description of Work: He is re-plastering horrendous walls and he has already painted. He installed a beautiful sliding door out to the deck, that he had to build.
