Lathan Tree Service

We had an agreement to cut a huge dying tree in our back yard and prune 4 Sugar Maples at the street. We added the pickup and planting of 12 large Arborvitaes to the job. A local nursery ended up caring for those Arborvitaes for a month, due to part day rain, the priority of storm tree damage, and worker issues I suppose. Then when the Arborvitaes were planted, I contacted the owner about issues with the depth, bottom limbs being submerged and overall inconsistency in how they were planted. Because I used the words "lack of finesse" and my wish for him, as an arborist, to assess the situation in my email, and concern about his guys doing delicate trimming of the street trees without supervision, he reneged on the whole rest of the job we had waited patiently for. Rachel in the office was lovely to work with and will verify we agreed to the delays. The numerous emails and phone calls were primarily from their office pushing the start date forward. The workers were tipped and complimented on their spacing and selection of which plant went where.. The major problem was with the owner who chose not work on days with intermittent showers, did not accompany the crew, and would not come out and analyze the problems we discovered after they left. The way the Arborvitae were planted in a slight incline left the backside of the root balls 4 inches exposed, causing the drip line water to run off ineffectively. My husband and I had to work about 5 hours to create good drainage around the whole line of trees, in order to stop the browning that was happening on the branches.

I can't say enough,I'm so very happy with the work they did!!!I would hire them again and again.

After months of excuses of why they could never come to do the work on the day they said they'd come, I hired someone else. It was excuse after excuse as to why they couldn't keep each appointment and a different excuse each time as to why they had to reschedule.

I wasn't home at the time - I was 30 minutes away. I called them on my ride home and they were there by the time I arrived. They were at my house the next morning and had the tree removed within a few hours. They took care of everything - end to end: tree removal, chipping & shredding, stump grinding, etc.

In and out very quickly.
