We have done projects with different contractors, but putting an addition on to our house was by far the biggest project we had ever done. We were terrified of its breadth and complexityâ particularly as concerned making the house comfortable for my elderly parents and more accessible for my son, who uses a wheelchair. We met with several contractors and chose HDB both because their bid was more reasonable and because we had a gut feeling of trust that, fortunately for us, never ebbed throughout the process. Choosing HDB was the best decision we have ever made in the 10 years we have owned our house, and we will continue to solicit their expertise for any future work. At every step of the process they demonstrated their authenticity, integrity, empathy and expertise. For questions we had about anything, big or small, we received a response within a day. We added two and half rooms and bathrooms to ones side of the house. Based on his vast experience in our area, Dale had important, smart suggestions for modest but powerful improvements elsewhere in the house that would not have occurred to me but proved to be invaluable--and increased the value of our home dramatically. He navigated town permit issues. Cost was very reasonable and if there were any questions, he was open to discussing and adjusting. Diane had superb design instincts, which saved us from hiring another professional, and as part of the fee she sent wise suggestions for vanities, light fixtures, paint colors, rugs and more; and then ordered the items directly. Both obviously cared about us and the project and made everything as easy as possible for us. Most projects we had done previously had faltered at the end, with smaller punch list items; but as usual, Diane and Dale were responsive til the final t was crossed and I dotted. HDB is a rare company with skill and expertise but also with a passion for their work and a spirit of kindness and concern for their clients that made a house addition â something we dreaded--actually fun. Review Hampton Design and Build inc Restored our house to its former luster after a pipe burst causing major damage to our main floor and basement. Dale and Diane worked tirelessly on our behalf to replace sheetrock insulation, repair the heating plumbing and electricity. They oversaw the rebuilding of our kitchen and laundry room with new cabinetry and countertops, replaced our beautiful wood floors in the common living area as well as replaced the basement carpeting with core-tech. Diane was very helpful with kitchen design and interior decorating which updated our house. Dale and Diane were easy to work with-consulting with us, keeping us informed and taking care of all the details. Dale guided us through the entire process as we would not have known where to begin therefore we would highly recommend using Dale and Diane at Hampton Design and Build Inc.

Hampton Design and Build did a terrible job. They started my deck in May and in September they finally sent guys to fix the shabby work their first crew did. They should have sent people who knew what they were doing in the first place. No one even came to check the work that was being done. Luckily I took photos of every step so that they couldnâ t say the initial work was well done or even done correctly. It was a really, really bad experience.

I could not be happier with Dale and Diane and the outcome of my project. We hired them to do a complete gut renovation of our home including HVAC, electric and plumbing. They were a pleasure to work with and had great ideas that really helped us achieve a finished product that far exceeded our expectations. Their team is professional, pleasant and responsive and NEAT. The crew always left the place cleaner than before they came. They are very easy to work with and do not cut corners. Their work is high quality and they do not leave anything undone. Our house looks and feels new. Project was completed quickly even with supply chain issues that everyone faced during and after the pandemic. Dale was always there finding alternative sources for product and and had great suggestions to keep things moving. I would highly recommend them to anyone that is looking for great craftmanship and people that are honest, will be there with you until the end and are a pleasure to work with.

We hired Dale and Diane to handle a gut renovation, converting one old bathroom into a new en-suite bathroom and additional powder room. This was a pretty complicated update which included: * Complete demo of most of the interior walls in the area. * Reframing * Brand new plumbing (we moved every single thing we could!) * New window cutouts/install. * Radiant heated floors. * Brand new electric. * New wood flooring in the master bedroom. The did it all and even fixed some of our roofing issues that came up along the way! They are "yes" people - they'll make what you want happen!

We hired Dale and Diane to renovate the home we just purchased out at the beach. Amazing experience from start to finish! Excellent quality work at reasonable prices. Dale was on it from the day we began until we just finished. His advice was invaluable and our home looks brand new, could not be happier!

We could not be happier with our â newâ Quogue house. We initially contacted Diane and Dale with the idea of doing full renovations of our three bathrooms, but we quickly realized (with some input from friends who also had a wonderful experience with the duo) that this was the team to help us accomplish some longer term goals for our home: to build out a new second floor den with an outdoor balcony, to create a beautiful new mahogany deck for our pool with an adjacent outdoor shower, to straighten an interior wall, and to install new cedar siding for the whole house. Our home really does look and feel new. When the Village Inspector suggested the installation of a backyard fence, the job was completed within a matter of days. And all this was accomplished during a pandemic. In terms of the actual day-to-day renovation process, both Diane and Dale are extremely responsive to any concerns or questions, and any minor issues that arose were promptly addressed. Nothing was left undone. Their employees were pleasant, careful, and cleaned up after their work. It was a pleasure working with the Benders and their crew, and we will certainly look to engage them for our next project, whenever and whatever that might be.

We hired Hampton Design & Build to build a mahogany deck around our in-ground pool. We are very happy. The deck is absolutely gorgeous. The craftsmanship is off the charts. Top notch. Perfection. Dale and his wife Diane are very nice people and were very responsive to every question. The communication aspect during the construction was excellent. Dale would immediately call me if I texted him. He was at the worksite daily to check on the progress. The carpenters /crew showed up every day at the same time each morning and were very friendly and approachable. They were professional and cleaned up. Throughout the project Dale made sure I was happy and comfortable with things and many times went above and beyond my expectations. He demanded perfection from his crew and had them take extra steps to ensure the deck would look its best, even if it took more time. At the end of the job there were no issues and there were no surprises in terms of additional costs. Dale has followed up and checked in with us on how we are liking the deck and whether we need anything. He stopped by to check again recently. Working with Dale has been a pleasure. This is a quality company that cares about their work and customers. I highly recommend them.

Diane and her husband Dale are professional, resourceful, insightful, responsive, reliable and extremely talented. They did an amazing job with remodeling our kitchen and finishing our basement. There isn't anything they cant do. I strongly recommend them.

Our experience working with Diane and Dale of Hampton Design and Build was remarkable and we are so thrilled with the job they did! They and their sub-contractors are trustworthy, reliable, honest, hard-working, and a lot of fun to work with. During the bulk of our renovation, we were at our home in New York City and often not around when work was being done. At no time did we feel work wasnâ t getting done because we were not there. Additionally, Dale and Diane checked in frequently and sent us regular reports of progress with pictures. While we originally just hired them to remodel and redesign our kitchen and laundry area, we soon discovered other issues like water and roof leaks that needed to be addressed. Never did we feel taken advantage of with these new developments and in fact, everything was quickly taken care of at a price that fit within our budget. For our kitchen remodel, we first told them we wanted to take out an entire wall that separated our kitchen from the living area. That whole process was done in one day and things quickly progressed from there. We worked closely with Diane on the design of the kitchen and she was able to perfectly take our thoughts, put them on paper, and turn it into our dream kitchenâ ¦ including the largest island we have ever seen! For our floors, we had a lot different flooring going on and they were able to perfectly match and stain all the wood flooring throughout the entire house. No one can tell which was the old floor and which is the new floor! We had a very plain fireplace and wanted to give it more character with a stacked stone. In addition to the excellent job done by the mason, one of Daleâ s sub-contractors built us a beautiful wood mantle that is truly the centerpiece of our home. We decided to change all the doors, hardware and trim throughout the house and Dale had it ordered and delivered in what felt like a day. It has made such a difference in the appearance to our home and while this wasnâ t in our original remodel plan, we are so happy for his guidance and expertise for making it happen. In addition, we had tile stairs leading to the basement that were uneven and a potential trip hazard. Daleâ s crew removed the tile and replaced the stairs with a perfectly aligned wood staircase that looks as if it should have always been there. Once this remodel was done, we soon discovered that our fence had completely rotted out and we had no qualms calling Dale to help us. As per usual, he quickly ordered the materials and got his guys on the job. We have recently had additional projects and we will most likely have more. Rest assured, we will call Hampton Design and Build for everything moving forward!

The deck they did for us was beyond our expectations! They were and are outstanding-professional at all times but so friendly and gracious. Highly recommend! Real craftsmen!

I have to say how pleased I am with the work Dale and crew did at our house. We were in a bind with another contractor who screwed us and dale came to the rescue - the quality of work is excellent and the crew was so nice and cleaned up every day - they treated us like family and not strangers - dale and Aaron went out of their way, every day. We have the most beautiful rear deck, front porch, side porch, garage conversion and siding in all of south jamesport!! I couldn’t recommend this team highly enough! Thanks, guys!!!

They were outstanding the people who work for them were outstanding. They made a kitchen remodel where my house was torn apart very easy to handle. The are professional, conscientious, and honest. A very good value for the money. I have used others in the past but I will only use Hampton Design and Build in the future. They are not only great at what they do but they are wonderful people as well.
