Lawn services - Davey has a mixed record for us when it comes to their services. For the lawn treatment portion, it's a mixed bag. They show up in the time frames promised, and the services appear to be completed as described. Application of treatments could be more accurate, as often times I'll come home and find granules of whatever was applied either scattered all over my driveway, or all along the side of the street my front lawn faces. This is of concern as our town has been attempting to get homeowners and businesses to minimize this sort of overage due to it creating contaminated runoff. It would be nice if Davey would clean this up on their own, rather than leaving it to me to address. Billing is usually correct, and they offer both online access and multiple payment methods. Tree services - my most recent use of Davey was to remove a stump in our front yard. While I was hesitant to use them due to previous issues in this area (see below), this time they came through with good service. The service was done when promised, at the agreed upon price, and was done to our specifications. Clean up was done within spec, too. What prevents me from recommending them fully is their lack of proactive service, and an inconsistency in the level of customer service they provide (at least in regards to phone calls & communication). My lawn has several issues with some sort of weed grass that is growing in clumps and spreading. Davey has never brought this to my attention. When I pointed out the issue last season, they responded that it would be better to fix those spots in the fall, when new grass seed would grow better. However, fall came and went, and Davey never followed up on my initial request for service. This same weed grass incident took several calls to them before I could get someone to call me back and respond to my issue. There was no explanation, but when I reported I had called twice before and had not received a call back, the woman I spoke to was obviously surprised by that fact and finally must have done whatever was necessary to make sure someone finally did get in touch with me. I had similar experiences with Davey when attempting to get them to come out and look at an ornamental cherry tree that was not healthy. I placed two calls to them asking for someone to contact me to discuss the issue, but I never did receive callbacks and the tree eventually died. 7/17/14 - I dropped them due to non-responsiveness to a lawn problem they repeatedly told me they would address but never did during 2 years of reminder. Enough was enough.

I am happy with this company and I?d use them again.

They were a little slow coming to give an estimate and could not schedule the job until two weeks after the estimate, but I went with them because they had the cheapest price and offered the crane service which sounded the best since the tree was inconveniently located near a busy road and our fence.

It was easy and not as expensive as other companies. Davey trees did a great job.

The sales rep looked at the job without me being there and faxed a quote. They showed up when scheduled and did as I instructed. There was an extra charge since I asked them to take one more tree but it was nominal.

The 'estimator' was very professional and friendly. I discussed what I wanted done and my concerns (branches growing near and around cable TV and electrical wires). The estimate was left with me to mail back once I decided I was going to use their services. The only problem I had was that they never called to set up an actual appointment for doing the trimming, and just showed up. I heard loud noises coming from the front of my house and realized they were trimming my tree! I already had an appointment that I had to leave for, so I wasn't there while they performed the work. I didn't think all of the branches were removed that were around the wires, and called them back. The estimator came back within a few days to discuss the situation with me. I still have not received a bill from them.

It went very well. They sent someone before the work to survey the work and make his recommendations that were good for the trees and the surrounding trees. We scheduled the appointment and everything worked out great. The trimming of the Black Oak trees took them a full day to do because they were very large. The crew came back the next day to take out the other trees which went very well. Then they sent one other man out later to ground up the stumps so everything went very well and we were happy with what they did. I interviewed two other companies for this job but this company seemed very good.

They were wonderful. They were very reliable. They did a great job cleaning up. They showed up one day when it was pouring rain, when I thought they would have canceled. They send you good respectable people.

I called about the plants on a Wednesday and on Thursday I had new, hardier plants in place. The service was prompt and courteous. Davey lives up to its guarantee.

Two workers from the company arrived on the date agreed upon with the appropriate machinery to do the work. They were competent, polite and finished the work over a two day period due to thunderstorms. Care was taken not to damage our lawn, flower beds and shrubs near the removed trees. A week later one worker returned and ground the stumps down. One stump was left to be ground up in Autumn so that he wouldn't damage flowers blooming near the stump. We are very satisfied with how things were done and with the end product - a nice, clean yard.

We chose Davey because they had the equipment to do the job. The owner is very knowledgeable as he completed forestry school. They had to bring in a crane to lift the tree out of the area. The clean up was most impressive as there was not even a wood chip left behind. I am using the stump which is level with the ground to place flower baskets on.

There had been a problem in the area with this fungus getting into an killing Dogwood trees so we took this precautionary measure to protect our Dogwood from it. It seems to have worked perfectly, the tree is healthy and fungus free after having been sprayed last fall. It has been awhile and I do not recall the cost, but it seemed fair for the work he did.

Davey's did an excellent job with the whole job from start to finish. He was polite and knowledgeable as were the crew he brought to help. They cleaned up well, chipped everything and took it away. His price may seem a bit high, but we felt it was worth it for the excellent job he did.

I have used them before as they are here every week and they are keeping my yard looking great. I will get them next year and the next year. As long as they do a good job, I will have them service my yard.

Davey has been around for quite some time in this area. They do good work at affordable costs for residents like me. If I need Maple tree work done again, I would call them back. They are quite punctual and reasonable in terms of what they charge clients.

Very well. The guys did a great job, and cleaned the street and property up wonderfully when they were done. They were friendly, courteous and professional.

Called Davey Tree for an estimate for some trees to be purchased and planted. Left photos for technician to see what I wanted, and was told a time and date for an appointment. I never heard a word, until one week later, someone just showed up. To this day, (at least two weeks have passed now), I've heard nothing..no word...no estimate, nothing. Have since had work contracted AND completed by another company.

THEY DID A GOOD JOB TAKING OUT THE TREE. THEY USED REALLY GOOD QUALITY PRODUCTS WHEN DOING THE LANDSCAPING. THEY DID FLOWERS AND BUSHES ALL AROUND OUR HOUSE. THEY DID A REALLY GOOD JOB AND IT LOOKS GREAT.

THEY WERE DEPENDABLE AND RELIABLE. THEY CAME WHEN THEY SAID THEY WERE GOING TO COME. THEY GAVE AN ESTIMATE AND DIDN'T GO OVER THE ESTIMATE. THE GUY WALKED THE ENTIRE 3 ACRES OF MY LAND WITH ME. HE WAS EXCELLENT, VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE, AND VERY CONSCIENTIOUS.

I HAVE NO COMPLAINTS. THEY WERE ON TIME, THEY HAD INFORMATION AND THERE WAS NO PRESSURE. THEY WERE COURTEOUS, CLEAN AND NEAT. THEY FOLLOWED UP AND FOLLOWED THROUGH.

WE HAD A REALLY BAD EXPERIENCE WITH THE LANDSCAPING, WE FELT WE WERE TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF. WE WERE GREATLY OVERCHARGED FOR MULCH AND FOR PLANTS. THEY DIDN'T DO SOME OF THE WORK THAT THEY PROMISED. THEY WERE NICE AND CAME BACK AND PUT MORE MULCH DOWN, BUT BY THAT POINT WE HAD RECEIVED THE BILL AND WE WERE SO UNHAPPY. THE OVERALL GOOD WORK THAT THEY WERE DOING ON THE LAWN MADE US CALL AND CANCEL OUR CONTRACT BECAUSE WE FELT LIKE WE WERE BEING RIPPED OFF.

IT WAS EXCELLENT. THEY ARE A GOOD COMPANY. THEY HAVE DONE EVERYTHING WE HAVE ASKED OF THEM. THEY DO GOOD QUALITY WORK. THEY ARE EXCELLENT TO WORK WITH. THEY LISTEN TO WHAT WE HAVE TO SAY. THEY ARE WILLING TO LISTEN TO MY IDEAS AND NOT JUST DO WHAT THEY THINK I WANT. THE PRICE WAS EXCELLENT. WE HAVE USED THEM IN THE PAST FOR OTHER SERVICES AND WE ARE STILL USING THEM.

WE HAVE BEEN USING THEM FOR SEVERAL YEARS NOW. THEY ALWAYS COME WHEN THEY SAY THEY'RE GOING TO COME. THE WORK THEY DO SEEMS TO BE BENEFICIAL TO THE LAWN.

IT WAS EXCELLENT. IT IS A DECENT PRICE. THEY COME AND DO THE WORK AND THERE IS NEVER AN ISSUE. THEY SEND PAPERWORK IN THE MAIL EVERY YEAR TO ACCEPT OR DISCONTINUE SERVICE FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE. WE NEVER HAVE HAD TO CALL THEM TO COME BACK BETWEEN TREATMENTS.

THEY'VE ALWAYS BEEN RELIABLE; THEY HAVE SHOWN UP WHEN THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO AND HAVE SPRAYED WHAT THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO. WE'VE HAD SUCCESS WITH THEM AND I'M HAPPY WITH THEM. THE PERSON SPRAYING HAS ALWAYS BEEN COURTEOUS. IF I HAD ANY QUESTIONS THEY WERE WILLING TO TALK TO ME ABOUT THEM.
